Maybe by Saturday .

Make enough cookies for everyone here, Pearl.

It hit 89 here today and has been humid as heck for the last several days. Finally, it rained about 4:00 this afternoon and it was a deluge - much needed! The temp dropped to 75 or so. It's really comfortable now and we're expecting more rain in a couple hours.

We were well up in triple-digits today, my central A/C unit is having a hard time keeping up (or down) with this heat wave. I'd install a window A/C unit in the wall of the living room to help the central A/C unit keep temps down, but I already have WAY too much going on in the way of home rehab work, future motorcycle work, etc. Meh, I'll ride out this week and hopefully the monsoon rains will arrive to help knock down temps... rains can't get here too soon, aye? 🥵

Accidents happen, but please make more. I need some dessert. Don't leave me hangin'.

Oh, and to the point of this thread, it topped out at about 89 again and humid as it can get. It's down to a very comfortable 73 right now.

Life would be perfect if I had some of Pearl's cookies.

Another scorcher here, but it's starting to cool off... gonna water again in a bit. This dome of high pressure is supposed to break down soon, the forecast says back into the 90*s by this weekend, with a chance of rain too. Only a 20% chance, but that's better than NO chance at all, lol. I spent much of the day just relaxing and reading a Western in the A/C, too darned hot outside to go anywhere, aye? In heat like this, it pays to consider what might happen if, say, your vehicle broke down miles from home... granted, I have towing under my insurance through USAA, but still, ya wouldn't wanna be stuck outdoors with no A/C for any length of time. That possible scenario is why one should always carry at least a gallon of drinking water in the rig, maybe more if one feels so inclined. It's HOT out there... and folks have been known to DIE in the heat. 🥵

Thought of me beloved & dear departed mum today, she was prone to use an expression whenever she was watching the TV news and some jackhole with a conflicting opinion would utter some BS. Me mum would say: "Oh, go soak your head!" And THAT is EXACTLY what I did today after momentarily being outdoors in the heat, lol. Felt good too, lol. 😎

P.S. In Dademoss lingo, me mum's expression would translate into this: "Aw, shaddap, you REDACTED cretin!!!" ;)

There is cat hair, ants, and grasshoppers on the driveway, don't eat driveway cookies!! Maybe pool deck cookies 🤔🤔🙄

Finally below 100...99° now. A friend in WV says the air pollution from Canada wildfires is pretty bad again.
Yall in Michigan gettin' it too, eh? @Heartbroken @Curmudgeon who else is up there? New girl, @michiganmeg ? When we had a wildfire that made national news here a few years ago I couldn't go outside, made me feel so bad. Possum Kingdom, it burned for at least a week.

Just a heat advisory tomorrow! It only hit 107° here today!

So we finally have 2 rain free days ( yesterday and today) then the rain is supposed to start up again :(
But, we have a "unhealthy air" warning right now. It was so hazy yesterday you can't even see the mountains . Yuck. I have never seen anything like it since 1998 when we had fires in Florida

The smoke from Canada has settled in the Tennessee Valley. We are getting reports of health risk
Same here, it was so thick yesterday you could cut it with a knife. Here's the Mighty Mac day before yesterday
