@Supervisor42 Hey, looks like we have a candidate down near yucatan. Named #4. What are you hearing? I just checked the national hurricane center. Nothing else going on.
I was doing just fine until you said that. :(
Boy, what @Pearl won't do to get some rain shipped in :

Rain, and plenty of it... downpour shortly after 0200, steady soaker ever since. This is the kind of drought-busting rain we need here, the trees are gonna be happy with this. Hey, an hour or more of steady rain in the high desert: I'll take it! Looks like I won't have to water later today... maybe the monsoon finally arrived! On the downside, I noticed some small ants on my kitchen floor where a piece of food fell and I failed to notice. I'll have to inspect the area later in daylight hours, I don't want any ants in my home. Kittens are running around like crazy fools as I drink a beer... going back to sleep soon. ;)

It rained another inch early this morning, a muddy mess outside. I intended to cut up those trees and skid the logs out today. I'd make a mess out of the pasture doing it, rip up the sod etc.

I also wanted to harvest some plants today but the creek will be a torrent until tomorrow. Too dangerous... Guess we're going to use inside voices today.

I think I'm stuck in your vortex. Slow rain all this morning too.
Rain forecast for the next 5 days.
So much for any chance of drying upgaah.

We had hours of rain, with a few short breaks... the yard is muddy, and we still have clouds stacked on the horizon. This is just what the doctor ordered, this steady soaking rain... my pine trees are happy right now, and so is everything else growing out there. This sort of rain should give all the roots plenty of water, only downside is that it'll surely bring up a few more goatheads, lol. I saw some tiny puncturevines sprouting before this rain even arrived, so I may have to bust out the flamethrower next week. Meh, no worries... plenty of propane left. ;)

Saturday afternoon we had a severe thunderstorm with nickel-sized hail. It was the longest lasting hailstorm I’ve ever seen. I’ve got about eight holes in the vinyl siding and the really high winds blew over my shortwave antenna but I think I can straighten a few of the damaged pieces and get it back on the air.

Rained again last night and this morning... just checked the forecast and we have big-time rain all week!!! Good for the trees & garden, not so good for yard work or painting. Meh, I already decided I would paint the kitchen & bathrooms this fall, so I'm still ahead of the game. This weather kinda makes me wanna just relax and read a good Western, maybe watch a good movie. I've been watching Duke flicks for the past few days, but the library only lets ya check out 5 DVDs at a time, so I'm already through the latest stack... still have plenty o' Western novels though, I like Westerns because they make for easy reads, nothing too deep or complicated, lol. You have the good guys & the bad guys, and some gals thrown in to liven things up... like a distilled version of WAR AND PEACE, lol. Seriously distilled... but entertaining enough for this old hand. ;)

Wow, the sun just broke through the clouds and it sure lightened up the room... but we have more rain coming today, and for this entire week! Good deal, we need it badly, maybe the rains will offset this ugly drought we've had for so long. The plants in the garden are looking good, and I haven't had to water in several days, lol. Those weed plants are starting to look heavy with buds, but I won't harvest those till October, so I probably won't have to waste any money at the local dispensary this winter, lol. Not that I'm a big pothead or anything, these weed plants are more like an experiment in soil amendment... but I do take an occasional hit from the glass bong I bought six months ago, lol. Nothing fancy, just a functional glass bong about 10" or 11" high. Does the job, and it looks good too without being ostentatious, lol. All legal and above board as well, which is a plus.

Well, like Johnny Cash, I had a beer for breakfast, guess I'll grab one more for dessert, lol... I'm moving slowly today, no hurries, no worries. This kinda weather makes me feel like lazing around... I'm not missing anything if I stay put on my property. There's a 60% chance of rain this afternoon and evening, so it'll probably be a sloppy mess out there. Why risk driving in the rain if it's not necessary? Why bother? I do wanna get those tires rotated on 'The Mighty Camry'---but that can also wait till tomorrow. Worst-case scenario, I do it myself later this week, but the forecast calls for rain all week, so I'm hoping Discount Tire comes through for me. It'll only take 'em 10 minutes with the tools they have, if even that long. We'll see what happens... I'm not champing at the bit or anything, but I will get more life out of those tires if I rotate them at the earliest opportunity. I just don't feel like doing it in rainy weather, despite the dual carport. Meh..."Manana!!!"

Thanks @Supervisor42 all this rain will be here in a couple hours, should get another inch.

Actually, @zannej sent those to you. 😋 :D
Supervisor, that storm looks like it will be coming over my area as well. Ugh. Had thunderstorms today. Looks like its almost evening right now with the sky so dark from rain and clouds. Not even 3pm yet.
We got to play with them first and they are substantial  ...You still got yore rubber-boots, right?
