OK, I take it back. You are getting a much better deal than I first surmised. It only just over $18 a meal and if that feeds two then it is a great deal. Here fresh fish is hard to get and it goes for between $8 and $14 a pound. I figure half a pound per person. The added cost of roasted reds and some veggies or a salad will bring the cost of a home cooked meal to between $4.50 and $7.50 per person. The labor is paid in love and friendship. At a restaurant you would pay between $20 and $30 for the same meal. (and at home you don't have to dress up) ;)

I figured you misread or I wasn't clear so alls good now.

Liver and Onions. Much to the dogs' disgust, we do NOT share that! One of our favorites. M even demands liver gravy - I guarantee you won't find that in too many restaurants.

Some quack in 1956 told my mother we were all enemic and to put us on HALF cooked liver to build up our blood. I think he just hated kids because not only did we eat meat but lots of it and veggies. Mama would stand there and watch us eat the bloody stuff.
Long story short we all liked liver later once she cooked it well with onions.
I told my kids it was country fried steak , one bite and it time for war.

Nanny patty...yep. I added an egg and seasonings to the cauliflower crust. Gross.

Weedy:
Sauce: About 4 lbs of Roma tomatoes. Peel them and seed them if you can. Put in blender and pulverize. Stick in pot and bring to boil, then cover and simmer 1/2 hour. Add what you like. Some ideas: onions that have been cooked in olive oil, minced garlic, a little red wine, salt, pepper, a little red pepper flakes if you like it spicy, Italian seasoning; and if its too runny, I add some tomato powder made into a paste (or you can use canned pure tomato paste). You can make this in a small crockpot and let it simmer while you're out all day. You can water bath can it or keep in the fridge. You could dump it over pasta, too, and add a little parmesan. I'm liking Roma's right now because I bought 30 lbs a few days ago at 50 cents a lb. Dehydrator running nonstop.
I am going through papers and found some recipes for pizza sauce. I have added these and yours to my recipe blog. I like having more than one recipe because sometimes you have some ingredient but not others.

Pizza Sauce recipe 1:
1 6 ounce can tomato paste
1 1/2 cup water
1/3 cup olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tablespoon oregano
1/2 tablespoon basil
1/2 tablespoon rosemary

Mix tomato paste, water & oil. Mix well. Add spices and garlic. Let sit for a couple hours before using.

Pizza Sauce recipe 2:
1 15 ounce can tomato sauce
1 6 ounce can tomato paste
1 tablespoon ground oregano
2 minced garlic cloves
1 teaspoon ground paprika
1 tablespoon basil
1/2 teaspoon rosemary

Mix tomato sauce and paste until smooth. Add everything else. It is better to let set a couple hours so spices blend.

This is just what we need ,thanks Weedy. A good recipe for homemade sauce.

Enjoyed mail order Sizzlefish so much we are going to try out Sea To Table mail order wild caught Alaskan cod, sockeye salmon. Free shipping on orders over $85.00. Ours was $92.00. Delivered right to our house.
No way will we spend on factory raised meat where animals are tortured and live in filth when we can have fresh delivered in dry ice in 3 days cold water seafood.

MY GOODDNESS that was fast! Fish just got here from Alaska a few minutes ago. In dry ice and still frozen solid. Ordered it Tuesday afternoon. Sea To Table is fast will let yall know how good it is. Hope its as good as it is fast.

I was tired after a trip to town so it was grilled cheese sandwiches and chips on paper plates. I didn’t feel like doing dishes either. ;D

I got to town in time to have lunch at my favorite Chinese restaurant. Its where the Asian community from the university eats so you know its good food. I had Mongolian beef, hot n sour soup and an egg roll. They have a great green tea there also. :)

I'll bet he was a quack. What a horrible thing to do to a family. I like liver and onions, but don't even remember when I last cooked it.
