Icy weather means big pot of soup.
Want comfort food today.
So making potato and ham soup.
Ham because it needs used up.
Potatoes because got good deal.
10 pounds for $1.97.
Already had milk, flour etc.
Might throw cream corn in there too .
Make a potato, ham, corn chowder instead.
Green beans cooked in oven with slivered almonds, garlic, butter, salt and pepper.
Mug chocolate cake sounds good too.

I believe we will be having turkey this evening. Not sure what with, maybe beans and rice. (I know that doesn't sound great) But since our company has decided again to come on Saturday and I speed thawed the turkey yesterday when I thought they would be here today, I think it is best to go ahead and cook it now. One less thing to do and cook on Saturday! It will be sliced and ready.

I am eating alone tonight, so I am making what we call a "plate pizza". I take a metal pie pan and put some non-stick foil on the bottom. Then I put in a think later of shredded mozzarella, provolone and parmesan cheeses, drizzle the top with garlic-oregano infused olive oil and bake it until it is just crispy. Then I will add some cooked crumbled ground beef, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, a little diced onion, green pepper, mushrooms, tomatoes. Most of this is leftovers from other meals and snacks. I will drizzle it again in garlic-oregano olive oil, sprinkle on a little Italian seasoning and cover the top with more shredded cheese. Bake it up until nice and bubbly and slide it onto a plate. All the deliciousness of supreme pizza with none of the filler. If you make the bottom "crust" crispy enough you can even pick it up, but I don't so I just use a fork.

Tonight we had cheese burgers and fries from my air fryer. Aside from a microwave its the handiest kitchen item I've ever bought. :)

Fried rice in the slow cooker.

I've made it pretty bland to see if my stomach will cope with it.

I put myself on the bathroom scales this morning and I've dropped under 58kgs.

Time to really start pushing the calories because the last thing I want is a feeding peg.
I love cooking, eating and growing food.
I only wished it loved me back.

We had a craving for simple comfort food so went with cream of tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches

My favorite comfort food!!!

Yesterday, I made spaghetti for DH. He loves it!!! Also made a congealed salad which is a lot better than it sounds. Basically jello salad with buttermilk and cool whip and pineapple added. I had a fish sandwich.
