Tonight I am putting together a chef salad with hard boiled eggs, bacon, smoked turkey, ham, shredded colby jack cheese, shredded sharp cheddar, cherry tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, butter lettuce, romaine lettuce, raw spinach, blue cheese crumbles, olive oil, blue cheese dressing and sugar free french dressing.

I made a pot of Seafood Hot & Sour Soup tonight. It was the best batch of H&S soup I’ve ever made. I added a couple of handfuls of small frozen gulf shrimp and some oyster sauce to give it the seafood flavor. I finally got the ratio of chili garlic sauce and red pepper flakes right, just enough to break a sweat halfway through supper. It was yummy! :woo hoo:

We did something really unusual tonight! After I got my dad home from the hospital we went out for dinner. It's something I never do, not to sound like a snob but I haven't been to many restaurants in the last few years that I didn't think I could outcook. Tonight was truly a surprise maybe because we have set in the hospital for the last 10 days with my father but we really wonderful dining experience. We started the dinner with the artichoke dip and martinis Jake had the braised beef rib the wife went for the lamb chops and I had a nice ribeye and we finished with a flourless chocolate cake. We have so much hard times the last couple of months it was really nice to end it with a nice evening!
