Today the wife stewed some chicken thighs for the broth, she took some of the chicken and made a creamy chicken potato soup with peas and carrots for our dinner, it was so good. When she just cooks and doesn't try to get fancy (following an internet recipe) it always turn out so much better, I just wish she would write down what she did. Tonight's soup had a consistency similar to clam chowder, the only problem I had with it was as I put away the leftovers I wanted to eat 1 or 2 more bowls. ;)

I made 12 oz. New York Strip steaks and raw fried potatoes for my daughter and me. I usually do raw fried taters in butter but I used oil this time and it took way longer than usual. It turned out OK though, even though the steaks were a little cool by the time the potatoes were done. Daughter is a petite 15 year old, and she ate that whole 12 oz steak and a whole large potato. Apparently my cooking skills were on point tonight.

Oh yeah, we finished it off with cookies n cream ice cream and Mrs. Richardson's caramel topping. That's some good stuff, right there!😉

It's was so much being young and able to eat like a hog!!

53 years old and I have been reduced to eating baked fish… baked cod broccoli and a sweet potato.

I had a steak sammich made from the steak that came in the 'pandemic pack.

I've eaten beef from 10 year old wild clean skin bulls that was tenderer than this sorry excuse for shoe leather.
The bun ripped, the fillings fell out in a heap and the whole leathery mass was left clenched between my teeth.
I ended up having to get a razor sharp paring knife out of the block and cut it into small bit sized chunks and load up the fork with the deconstructed sammich.
Wow...my cheek muscles got a work out and I needed yard of floss to get the stringy fragments out from between my teeth.
To say I'm disappointed is a understatement....ropeable might be more in the ballpark.

I'm gonna have some leftover chicken tonight. Went shopping at Costco today and bought one of their roasted chickens for $4.99. Had it for lunch. Or should I say, I had 1/2 of one breast for lunch. I don't know what kind of steroids they must put these chickens on, but they are scary humongous beasts. This one chicken will probably feed me until my wife gets back from Hawaii next week (if I don't get sick of it and throw it out first!)

Oh look, the Costco chickens have arrived!
