...Husband on a diet, having salmon, salad, one sweet potato, and brussel sprouts.
My diet so far this year:
  • Breakfast: Oats (half rolled, half steel cut; no sugar or anything else, just oats)
  • Lunch: Can of Kirkland salmon (the water and salt are seasoning enough...gives a full feeling)
  • Dinner: What the wife cooks, but really focusing on eating smaller portions & stopping sooner, and starting with greens before going to the main course.
  • Drink more water.
Eliminate my Achilles heels...mostly:
  1. No alcohol during the week.
  2. No snacks during the week (except for fat-free, low-carb, such as fruit, pickles).
  3. No fast food at all.
Also started doing mini workouts (push-ups, sit-ups/crunches, fast count bend-and-reach). Baby steps. When the weather gets warmer, I may venture out and start running again. Hoping the wife and I can get out occassionally and do some weekend hikes. We shall see how long this lasts, but I hope to get healthy in 2022.

Sounds like a great plan to me. I need to lost weight, and am searching for a plan.

Dinner tonight, taco soup.

One of my cousins butchered hogs last month and knowing my boy loves Italian sausage and peppers loaded the kid up with fresh ground sausages. I had a bowl of red beans and rice looking forward until tomorrow it’s the day I eat whatever I want.

Add a half cup of milk and a spoon full of table starch+finely diced carrots and 1/4 cup of potato flakes stirred in slowly.
takes it out of the leftover range and into the hearty stew category. :)

Pearl darlin', If you put the oak IN the stove you will get more heat out of it and less smoke ;)
If I was there I would ask your husband if I could give you a warm hug. It worked for my mom for years and my wife for the last 20+.

I am always warm so all my daughters-in-law want hugs during the winter. Only my wife hugs me in the summer :)

Take your average corn bread recipe, add a half sized can of veg all a bit of onion and a tiny can of mushrooms. make fritters.
