We have a White Mountain hand crank that I really like
I might have to look at them. I am thinking though if Hubby wants icecream, he needs to do the cranking. Actually, the motor in ours works fine, it's the cheap plastic hub that strips when the icecream begins setting up.

Last night was pesto Chicken. (above)
Tonight was ham & spuds since Hubby & my dad say you can starve to death on chicken. 😂
I didn't we have the same hubby?! My dad has been gone a long time, he'd always joke with my mom and say, "are we having shittin' chicken"? What's with guys and chicken?
 
That's funny about the chicken!
So daughter and boyfriend aren't too sure about dinner tonight, but we're going out to the Liverwurst and Fried Mush with tomato gravy dinner at the Menno church tonight, I want to stop in at the fowl sale, first, but I won't stay long because it's outdoors, and it'll be maybe in the high 20's at that time.
 
@Terri9630 Agree on the fountain. I prefer a bottle but then I drink too much at one time; cans are ok icy. I guess I got used to it in a can. When I pour it over ice, it ruins it! Loses carbonation and flavor almost right away. Are you straight on Dr Pepper or diet? I’m straight on, I never drink diet sodas.
I like the Cherry DP myself. In bottles of course.
 
I'm making a pot chilli this morning, for dinner. Got a left over smoked brisket in the fridge that I'll cut in chunks, add some thick bacon pieces and a big handful of my special hot pepper blend; habanaro, ghost, Thai and cayenne. I'm out rum so I'll have to add bourbon to the pot. I'll let it simmer on the wood stove all day.

Man-which from scrap and a salad.
 
I finally got around to making a pot of seafood hot n sour soup. I tried the black vinegar I bought the other day. That was the missing piece! That's what the restaurants in town use. It has a sweetness to it.

Today I used a lot more shrimp than usual. A few had freezer burn so everything left in the bag went in the pot.

I thawed out one of my smaller whole chickens. 8.3 l lbs. So it's a lot of chicken this week.

2 days baked chicken thighs
1 day baked chicken breast
1 day chicken in black bean sauce (2nd breast)

Made stock with the rest

Today and tomorrow will be chicken pot pie
Next two days after that, it looks like cream of chicken and broccoli soup made with some of the stock and bits as well.

I think I will be done with chicken for a little while when all is said and done.
