Home made chicken and dumplins'...............yum. I can never get the dumplings right, but my better half sure does.

And she hit them out of the park tonight , sooo good I had seconds which is a rarity for me anymore.

Wife and I have a late afternoon appointment with our Financial Guy. Good Lord willing and the Creek don't rise I can convince her to stop at a local Barbeque place and we will bring dinner home. Great food, good prices, large portions, and locally owned by nice people. I can drink my own beer, which is cold, and it is what I like. I always try to support locally owned establishments before I go to a national chain.

Depending on weather...

Tonight is what we call "Lazy Halupsi". It is a mixture of ground beef, shredded cabbage, a little shredded carrot, a little riced cauliflower, sliced onion, and garlic stir fried together. Then you add diced tomatoes, heavy cream, butter, salt & pepper then simmer it for awhile uncovered. The original meal is a meat stuffed cabbage roll also known as halupsi or haluksi. This is the easy to make casserole version.

Yesterday I made cheese steaks and the last of the curly fries I bought at the restaurant supply store. The fries are really good. Just like the ones from Arby's but I do them in the oven so theres less grease. I plan on buying more. Hubby really liked them

Today I'm making baked crabcakes, scalloped potatoes and steamed broccoli

Mmmmm….with fresh cream?
I'm guessing you're skipping the grilled cheese.

Indeed! Fresh cream, so tasty, so full of fat.

I did make a cauliflower grilled cheese for the Mrs., but I didn't make one for me. Just isn't the same.

Why won't it matter, Morgan?

We're having gyros and spanakopita

Because if she was there we would just have whatever can SHE grabbed from the cupboard. We do a lot of heating. I don't think it would really qualify as cooking. I am not complaining. When it comes to cooking/eating the faster the better. If it has to cook at 300 degrees for an hour I am thinking " why can't we make it 600 degrees for 30 minutes." I have the patience of a flea. Brown, Hot, and A lot of it is my favorite recipe. I don't really care what is in it as long as it is things I like.
