Franklin, 1 hr 45 min from my house,:antiqueauto:

You can jump on over to the Corvette museum in Bowling Green while your there.:dancing:

Jim
That sounds like the perfect day trip.

I heard they expanded the Corvette museum since they had that sinkhole. They also put in a Motorsports Park across from the museum (next to I-65 north).www.motorsportspark.org

Also read in the newspaper, that the million dollar homes' owners next door, were pretty upset about the noise from this new Motorsports Park. Some homeowners hired lawyers, not sure what came of it, but they weren't happy is what I understood.

Took my older brother to the WM pharmacy to pick-up his prescription this evening. His Dr gave him a nasal spray for his allergies (sorry HIPPA :p)

Anyways , brother's Doc says pollen terrible right now.

Brother must be feeling bad, he didn't want to stop for a soda on the way home.

He should be feeling better soon... now that he has a prescription to help him out. :)

Survived work. Did some chores. A neighbor lady brought over a copper moran rooster. I have two spotted moran hens. I think I'll set them up together. Sold out of eggs today while I was at work (son was here). Husband has a very early morning heart doc appt, and then he thinks he's going to work, for the first time in three weeks. He's been working at home.

Starting to blanch and freeze our sweet potatoes on the front veranda and doing 2 batches in our 7.2lt steamer pot today and using the free lemon juice in water to dip them in once we have skinned and diced them to stop them turning brown. I think we are going to have quite a few more loads to do being we picked 100kg of them :D but we will have a years worth for our freezer once we have finished for the two of us.

Shall put a picture in photos once we finish this afternoon.

Well, you know those zucchini seedlings that I planted this morning.......

well, ....one word.

CHICKENS.

or as they are now known....

Creatures of mass garden destruction.

They've been fine in their pen for months and then zucchini plants hit dirt and...BAM.

The allies should kick them out of helicopters over Iran.

Oh @Tank-Girl sorry to hear that the chickens got the zucchinis :( . Are you clipping their wings to stop them flying over fencing, do you have wire fencing up around the garden beds, or are they just jolly good hoppers ?.

It was the young pullets I had in a movable chicken tractor/pen.
I moved the tractor over to a bed I double forked so the soil was loose and fluffy and the pullets have gotten that good at
scratching that they scratched a hole under a corner and got out that way......

You have to laugh after a pretty tense couple of moments to allow the murder to leave your heart.

AND now you know why I will be raising rabbit for meat. They cannot fly, no wings to clip, and when you peel the hide off them it is worth something. Plus, their poo does not stink and makes great fertilizer. Sorry about your crop loss.

I hear you. I've got plans to move to khaki campbell ducks for much the same reasons.
They're easier to manage, don't get through fencing and I can have drakes here so breeding them won't be an issue.
They'll add eggs, meat and all important fat to my diet to go with my veggies.

Khaki Campbells are great ducks. I have those and two other varieties. 18 in all. But I hate to tell you, they will decimate anything green growing just as fast as a chicken. I grow lettuces and spinach just for those ducks. Tried to grow wheat grass and sunflower in their duck area, but it's gone just as soon as it's 1/2 inch up. So now I grow my fodder in big pans. I put a big pan of it in their runs (as well as the chicken run) a few times a week. We have rabbit coming out of our ears. Three in the freezer, and two pairs just gave birth again. Our son raises them. But he sells half for pets first ($30 a piece) and anything that doesn't sell is eaten.

Mobook,
My best friend is a retired surgeon, and is great.
I've seen how it works,
He tells people to apply heating pads to the knee as much as possible every day before surgery,

Start as early as possible, but every bit helps, I wish I had passed this info to you sooner , but you still have a couple days.

It promotes blood flow in the bones and muscles, and really helps with healing quicker after surgery.

I seen it work for my daughter and others.

Jim
Thank you for the advice.

Just make sure you have a good bottom or they will still dig out of a tractor.

Went and voted in a primary election. Went to check on DH meds at VA local clinic, had Verizon store get rid of an app that microsoft edge suggested and then I couldn't find it to remove it. Then went to grocery store for a few items. Home the rest of the day doing laundry and writing eBay.

@MoBookworm1957 I'm sure you've heard of a flower called Solomon's Seal. It does amazing things for ligaments and tendons. Yours will be badly inflamed due to the surgery. After your surgery solomon's seal could have you feeling like you're 25... okay, maybe 35, again. Don't buy the capsules from wm or a health food store, they are garbage. If you are interested pm me and I'll have fresh SSeal tincture shipped to you. It will also lesson your pain levels by reducing inflammation...

Today I finally had a little energy. In preparation for my doctors appointment on Wed. I stopped doing normal things to conserve energy on Monday. Today I got a weeks worth of laundry done. I also got all the dirty dishes done that have been soaking in the sink since monday. They were rinsed and fresh water and soap added every day but Wed. I went to the little town for a few needed groceries late today.

I forgot chicken feed, which reminds me... a racoon got in the chicken pen and killed one of my hens Thursday night. Tonight I locked my hens up in their fort knox and have 7 steel traps set. I'm gonna get this sucker!
Thank you for the information. I will have to look that up too.
