@Amish Heart the hardest thing for anyone to accept is that they are loosing some of their independence, including our husbands, who refuse to accept they need any help although they know deep down inside that they do. Sometimes we have to put our foot down and just tell them that this is the way it has to be as I did with DH, he didn't like it but accepted it over time. It is also important to let them have their independence as much as possible and over time we melded together and he asks or I notice signs when he needs help now other than that I don't molly- coddle him and allow him to do what he wants within reason.

You and DH will be in our prayers.

I have a lot of friends who tell me I must not let DH do anything at all, and I tell them well that is a really great way to kill someone and make his injuries worse if he doesn't exercise. They have stopped trying to tell me what to do and on a lot of service projects DH runs rings around the healthy not injured ones and chooses a task that doesn't require a lot of walking. When we did a gardening service project DH unloaded manure from a trailer into wheelbarrows and had 2 men running he was so quick and they were saying to me can't stop he will have more waiting for us :). Your DH like mine will work out what his limits are and better ways to do things to cater for his medical condition over time but until then all we can do is be there for them.

So far this morning we have folded up 3 loads of washing and DH has stain removed some clothing and got on a load of washing. Soon he will hang it out and I will water the other half of the back lawns with saved grey water from our showers and washing machine.

Then out into the gardens we will go and thin out and transplant some cauliflower seedlings, water them in and mulch around them. Inside again where I will deep clean the toilet and bathroom for the week and DH will sweep all the floors. Then I will take some pictures of more items I need to list on eBay for an unlimited free listing and auction fees promotion that is on until the 4th of June.

Well, Mo, if you're going in on July5th, then I hope you have a "blast" on the fourth of July! What will grandbaby do without you?
Husband drinking lots of V8, less water. Called a commercial broker that we know, and he wants a tour and to do a market analysis tomorrow afternoon. I told husband before I left for work that I would hate to hire a caretaker for him. That would be crazy. I can take care of him. And if I can't, I'll bring help in. He is still working full time at home, and I'm sure his boss would love him to continue doing that forever. But of course, doesn't believe he needs much. Even when he can't put his own shoes on. But he was off today of course. Will go shopping tomorrow to see what other drinks are on the market that have a good amount of sodium but not a huge amount of unpronounceable chemicals, or sugar. He's diabetic. Grandson has been a huge pain in the butt this last week. Lying, cheating on chores, bad attitude. I can see a pattern forming; he knows when I'm distracted. Going to let our son give him some chores this weekend to work along side with him.

On the 5th of June will receive whatever equipment I will need after surgery.
Will learn how to walk with walker, crutches, cane, bathe, exercises etc.
Then on 5 July 2018 will have surgery total knee replacement.
Peanut, Amish Heart, Sewing Creations 5 hope everyone gets well soon.

@MoBookworm1957 I'm sure you've heard of a flower called Solomon's Seal. It does amazing things for ligaments and tendons. Yours will be badly inflamed due to the surgery. After your surgery solomon's seal could have you feeling like you're 25... okay, maybe 35, again. Don't buy the capsules from wm or a health food store, they are garbage. If you are interested pm me and I'll have fresh SSeal tincture shipped to you. It will also lesson your pain levels by reducing inflammation...

Today I finally had a little energy. In preparation for my doctors appointment on Wed. I stopped doing normal things to conserve energy on Monday. Today I got a weeks worth of laundry done. I also got all the dirty dishes done that have been soaking in the sink since monday. They were rinsed and fresh water and soap added every day but Wed. I went to the little town for a few needed groceries late today.

I forgot chicken feed, which reminds me... a racoon got in the chicken pen and killed one of my hens Thursday night. Tonight I locked my hens up in their fort knox and have 7 steel traps set. I'm gonna get this sucker!

Mobook,
My best friend is a retired surgeon, and is great.
I've seen how it works,
He tells people to apply heating pads to the knee as much as possible every day before surgery,

Start as early as possible, but every bit helps, I wish I had passed this info to you sooner , but you still have a couple days.

It promotes blood flow in the bones and muscles, and really helps with healing quicker after surgery.

I seen it work for my daughter and others.

At the community wide yard sale today, I got a couple of pairs of jeans for eBay and a set of 3 Christmas jars for putting old fashioned candy in and a wayward looking pink stuffed chicken. Nothing there canning or prep related that I needed and it was 90 degrees when we got there at 10 am. Oh, the humidity! LOL

Going to make goulash and try to put up curtains in bedroom today. Already have blinds but am adding blackout panels.

Just watching hubby and his brother build my kitchen cabinets. Went to what's left of the little town that's 25 miles from here for lunch and to show BIL around. Had 3 bull elk in my pasture when we got back home.

I pushed the envelope in having a late Sunday brunch of bacon, eggs and sausage after swinging a mattock since sunrise.

WOW......huge mistake.

To put none too finer point on it I either allow it to stay put in my stomach and feel sick as a dog or I get shot of it and feel better.
It's too late to take anti nausea meds.

My hard headedness makes my life miserable sometimes.

No babysitting grand daughter today.
Mom and dad both off today, Granny needed a break.
Little ladybug girl is mobile with no naps for the last few days.
She starts out on floor, works her way butt scooting across the floor.
Finally gets ups on her knees, bends over at the waist takes Granny's sandals off.
Straightens up and she's off turtle run, little bit unsteady with balance.
Yesterday she cleaned off her bookcase, end table by the recliner, mom's bookcase in short time frame.
Procceeded to butt scoot into kitchen, to shoe rack. Yep, cleared that in 10 minutes.
Granny got tired of picking up mom's bookcase stuff, so I just sat down in front of it.
While I was sitting on the floor we did yoga.
Today did running for parents.
Went to Wal*Mart for them twice.
Came home let Strawberry out, she came back in pretty quick.
Took nap it felt wonderful
Now just reading forums.

Sounds like a good time! I love Johnny and June.
I'm going to get the animals fed and husband wants to go out to breakfast. He is feeling pretty ok this morning if he moves slow. A day for housecleaning and cooking before work tomorrow. The commercial real estate guy was helpful yesterday, and will have a market analysis for us mid week. Took a lot of photos. Hope to get it on the commercial MLS very soon. Can avoid putting up a sign and losing all of our students.

We were just talking about Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash last night. Both J.C's
Junes initials didn't change and she has the same kinda spastic moves while performing as another J.C. aka Joe Cocker.

I went to Church this morning and left our company home resting. Seems to be what most come for (the quiet and no drama household). Making a french toast bake this afternoon for desserts and breakfast tomorrow. Going to try and take it easy this afternoon. Dinner will be goulash from yesterday.

Yesterday we made a lovely homemade cheesecake with homemade condensed milk and cream cheese and nice biscuits purchased on special and free lemons given to us by a friend and DH washed up the dishes and cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put them away. I also made 2 more bread bags and over the last few days have listed 58 homemade items on a free listing fee and final auction value fee promotion.

Today is D day for another round of minor ops for me to remove a skin tag around my eye and a few off delicate upper body regions  that get in the way of underclothing and some on my back, so I am likely to be sore and sorry for myself for the coming days. Never have reacted well to general anaesthetics or any form or operations as I am usually healthy as an ox and they have to give me double dosages to numb me. Nothing serious and none of the growths are cancerous as I cover myself in long sleeves and jeans when working outside due to being fair skinned and a redhead.

Back from choppy choppy and had 6 growths removed and the local has worn off and I took some Panadol, did I tell you I love Panadol :) . Don't see me doing an awful lot today and I feel a little off keel with Panadol and the general. We did however empty the bath tub of bath water into the grey water barrel so DH can water the other part of the back yard with.

Closest small town had a community wide garage sale. Found two LP tanks. The 20 LP tank was brand new (still in bubble wrap) and cost me $12. The 30 LP looked new and cost me $10.

My 3 - 5 gallon gasoline jugs seem to be always empty when I need the generator. So I bought a kit and converted the generator to LP. I understand LP doesn't "spoil" so I've been picking up LP tanks whenever the price and opportunity allows.

Just got back from getting blood work done. Have a doc's visit in 2 days.

We finally FINALLY got a break in the rain. We got pounded yesterday. Massive amounts of rain. Roads flooded, some washed out, trees down, some on electric lines, detours everywhere which means big lines on the main roads to get anywhere this morning. Side of the road is collapsing down the road from us where a creek runs under it in a large pipe. Roads dept put up a couple of orange cones to keep anyone from driving there. Hopefully they'll get it fixed soon.

We can continue to work on getting the metal roof put on this coming week. Supposed to be more sun and less rain and in the 70's.
Have to wait a day or so for the garden to drain some before I can do much. Boy those weeds grow in downpours better than they do in sunshine lol

Filled my chickens water tank today and harvested my little garden. I have almost enough green beans to make a canned load. Beginning to get yellow squash and tomatoes. My dill weed is looking good. Put fertilizer in all of my wicking pots. I had to back to the plant nursery where I got the idea for wicking planters to see what I was doing wrong. I got the answers and corrected the problem ( not enough and wrong kind fertilizer) , so now I will watch and see what happens. I just it’s not too late for my plants.
Now, I need to go snap beans and get them ready to can.

We had a rabbit come in and eat most of our squash yesterday clipped it off right below the bloom and evolving veggie like a pair of scissors.
So we had to put up more chicken wire around a large area. Not gonna let it bother me ,will just hope for better luck with Fall garden . This was one too late i n season anyway.

MK, we have rabbit wire around our raised bed. I just have to remember to close the gate, because we have tons of rabbits. I saw many this morning out. We are having a cool down and it’s brought the wild critters out.

Well we have hopefully fixed the problem and still have some squash blooms. Now I'm about to bathe the allergy dog and do housework. :fun fun:

Company all gone for now and it's very quiet. My girlfriend that visited helped me hang two pictures and change some light bulbs that were difficult for me to get to. DH can't do anything at all like that now. We had a nice low key visit. All dogs got along great!

Today, I'm doing research for elections tomorrow in my area. Otherwise, not doing much!
