we got the rest of the living room deep cleaned and started on the dining room, but it's going to be on hold tomorrow as i am going to pick up hubby's meds and go by my parent's and check on them. they are planning on going to the hank williams festival saturday to hear her nephew sing. he sings hank and hank jr and sounds a lot like them . as a matter of fact he is hank sr.'s great grandson[i am not related to hank, but am related to grandson] long story. but we are very proud of him.

washed one small dog, made the freezer waffles

Surely you didn't make freezer waffles from one washed small dog! ;):D

I have to apologize to @snappy1 I've had 3 hours of sleep in the last 38. I expended more energy than my disability allows in a week.

I get silly when I'm tired... ;)

Between breaks we have got all the tinned meat, fruit and veges dated and put away and the bulk flours, sugars and rice put away apart from the white sugar as the new buckets we purchased are rather dirty and need a wash. Once that is done we and it is dried we can fill it with the white sugar for the store room.

DH and I have done an inventory of all the pantries and the food storage pantry room and now have a list of what we need to bring us to a 12mth storage level on everything.

DH is having a nap so we will wash up the dirty dishes and food storage bucket, clean the benches and I will wipe and put them away. Then it will be onto sorting the mince beef and bacon into meal sized portions in freezer bags for the freezer.

Lunch was roast pork and cheese sandwiches with pork left over from our roast leg and sultanas. Dinner will be the other half of our sweet potato and potato soup.

I have dealt with cranky grumpy teething, whiny grand daughter all day.
She stayed up this morning instead taking a short 15 minute nap at 0500 hours.
Unfornately for Granny, she didn't wouldn't take nap till 1800 hours right at supper time.
Seems I am suppose to make sure Estelle's mom gets up on time so she will get to work on time.
Hmmm! I'm thinking maybe when she handed me the baby at 0500 hours, she stayed up got her rear in gear.
She wouldn't have been late for work.

Making Christmas gifts.
Birth Announcements Quilt Blocks which are cross stitched.
Then I will block them, bat them, back them, then frame them.
Working on Estelle's and big sister's now.
Got 2 other blocks worked up too.
Just got to put information:name, weight, date etc on them.
I can sit in recliner, listen to the silence, cross stitch way.
Still got to do 2 Wedding Announcements too.

Well the Endocrinologist called today. She said that the blood work came back as normal. She said that even though all the symptoms are there she doesn't think its hypoglycemia because her lows aren't low enough but that at the same time she concerned that her highs, no matter what she has eaten barely top 110. She said that after receiving all the kids medical records she wanted to consult with, and have her seen by, a cardiologist and neurologist to rule out problems with her other major systems.

I was shocked that not only did the 2 specialists call today to schedule apts but that both apts are within 10 days.

Happy to hear things are moving along. I hope they find the issue soon and get your daughter up and running smoothly.

Thanks, I hope so too. She's definitely racking up the doctors. Since birth she has had 3 pedatricians, 3 gastroenterologist, 3 neurologists, 2 cardiologist, endocrinologist, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist and probably another ologist that I'm forgetting and has been in 5 hospitals.

Wow, that is a heck of a lot for such a short time. They need to find the issue give her back a normal life with just the normal bumps and bruise trips to doctors. I send my best wishes and will ask gumpy to send another prayer her way.

I picked up 2000 pounds of concrete in 80 pound bags from the hardware store in town and then came home and stacked them in the back of the shop. Also got 3 sheets of 3/4" plywood, steel wire reinforcing, 40 feet of rebar and 8 2x4s. I am going to replace the gravel ramp to the garage with a nice concrete ramp. You wouldn't think that a simple 5x6' ramp would take so much work. The wood frame on the gravel ramp split apart after two years so I patched it back together and drew up the plans for the concrete. I didn't use that much concrete to build the foundation for the cabin up north. (but then we used blocks to build piers and filled the blocks with concrete, rebar and tie-down bolts) I was a bit sore yesterday but kept stretching and this morning I feel better. (not ready to do THAT again but better) :)

Gumpy,
My warranty is up on the one I have. :)
I have been working for 12 years to get it back to where it is now and I plan on getting back to 100%.
At 67 that may not be the same 100% that I had at 40 or 50 but I won't stop trying to improve it.

Same here. I had to have spinal fusion in 2011 and it didn't work. I'm a lot better but it's been a long, gradual, painful process. I'm just thankful I can still work a few hours a day. I'm still a youngster tho at 65!

80lb. bags has been long gone around here, we use 40lb. and that is too heavy. You really have your work cut out for yo alright. Of course it would take about 50 smaller bag.

We have a choice of 60 and 80 pound bags. I chose the 80 thinking it would be less of a hassle to store them until I get started. 25 bags is better than 34 but each bag is easier to handle.
Now I have to figure out if I need to rent a mixer or just mix it in the pan I have... I can buy a mixer for less than $200 and then sell it after I am done... that might be cheaper even than renting one.

Yea I use to carry two - 80 pound (one under each arm) of water softener salt, then carry it from the garage, though the wash room, kitchen, down the steps, family room into the furnace room. Then to lifting one - 80 pound bags of water softener salt up onto my shoulder. Now I'm down to carrying 40 pound bags one at a time and hoping the water softener dies for good the next time. Then I'm going to put the brine tank in the garage, back the truck up to the brine tank and dip salt from a bag until it's lite enough for me to handle.

Herd #3 was hatched yesterday and arrived at work by USPS this morning. Three times I tried to take an early lunch so I could take them home and get them settled in their new home. Ended up taking a late lunch but finally got them home and settled in. Golden Buffs.

I’m so hacked off with the people my husbands Indian tribe sent out to mow for him. I had everything marked that I didn’t want mowed over and what do they do? They mowed over one of the biggest things I had growing which was an almost 40 year old grapevine. Sheared it completely off at the trunk! I’m so PO’d!!!

I would be too. There's a grapevine here that's been trying to grow for at least 10 years and has been cut off more times than I can count,I don't let anybody else now or trim around it. It's just now getting to be a few feet high on 1 end but I think all the times they've been cut off has stunted it's growth.

When I moved to this new house I found a fender from a 1930's era truck about a half mile from our house. Well I brought it home cleaned it up and painted it to match the trim on my garage. Today I attached it to the garage above the door as an awning. Wife thinks it looks OK so that's enough for me.:)

Watched a small herd of mule deer jump the fence and browse their way almost up to the porch where I was sitting with hubby and some friends. They weren't the least bit concerned with us or the music that was playing. I guess they like AC/DC. I'd post the video but it says the file is to large.:D

So far got bread on, sat on the computer and we have done a bit of a pantry stocktake to add more items to our 12 month supply list we want to get to. Glad we are not stocking for a family of 6 or more children and ourselves as there is a lot of money that goes into a years supply of everything we need here already :).

Think after a shower we will get something done out in the gardens now the frost has lifted and we can feel our feet and bodies again.

Sorry @NannyPatty they cut down your grape vine, root stock that old should put back up.

Maybe this story will make you smile… back in the 60’s at a church I attended as a child there was certain elderly couple by the name of Watson. Mr. Watson wore hearing aids but was still pretty much as deaf as a post.

On a spring day during a church service when it came time for general announcements… A tearful Mrs. Watson stood up and said “I want a divorce and don’t know how to get one”. Scandalous!!! in a Baptist church in rural Alabama at that time.

The real story… During the previous winter a family friend with a welding shop and several other folks donated money and time and they build Mr. Watson a riding lawn mower. He no longer had the health to push a mower.

The previous week Mr. Watson cut his grass for the first time that spring. With the motor running he couldn’t hear anything. Mrs. Watson was out in yard pointing out flowers and rose bushes she’d planted or set out that spring.

Mr. Watson misunderstood. He thought she was pointing out places he’d missed.

He cut down every flower and rose bush she had in the yard…

:LOL::LOL:
