Went shopping and went WAY over budget in the hardware store BUT what I brought are investment items that will last a good long time and help me
to produce more food.
I brought punnets of green and gold zucchini and broccoli seedlings.

I didn't have enough left for a new gas bottle or refill but that's ok.

I did manage to go heavy on the jam and bar soap and stock up on meat specials so all wasn't lost.
No chips and salsa for me this trip which is my usual shopping day treat.
*sigh*
I like chips and salsa.

Whats going on? Jim

I have CFS… a little known and misunderstood illness. The CDC describes it as debilitating, all encompassing…

https://www.cdc.gov/me-cfs/

Yesterday I drove almost 200 miles round trip for an eye appointment in Birmingham. It was a 6-hour ordeal. It required far more energy than I normally have in a single day, even 2 or 3. It produced more stress (energy consumer) than I normally endure in 2 weeks. :(

It will take me a week to recover, hopefully. The ugly answer is that it could take me a month, not the first time. :(

For anyone who is interested in this illness…

A movie… “Unrest”

Release date: September 22, 2017

Director: Jennifer Brea

Mrs. Brea also has CFS

A CFS support group here in Alabama lobbied our states PBS stations to air this move in February and we succeeded.

Unrest is available on Netflix…

https://www.netflix.com/title/80168300

If you have kin or friends with this illness… this movie explains it. Yes, there is some lefty crap in it, but please ignore…

The director, Jennifer Brea was a PhD student at Harvard University when she became suddenly ill with a high fever and became bedridden. She has this illness… She understands it and directed what I think is a very informative film about it.

I betting most of you know someone with cfs... sadly, its more common than Parkinson's and Downs syn. combined.

@Peanut rest up and get better soon and that story reminded me of DH as he is as deaf as a post as well after having ordinances .go off in his ears during the military. We have sign language to deal with his hearing loss i.e if I need to talk to him while he is using equipment I make the turn off charades sign with my hand and then he turns it off and can hear me or I put up my hand in a stop signal if he is about to run over something with the lawnmower at a safe distance in front of him.

Sorry to hear about your grape vine @NannyPatty I hope after the good trim it will bounce back even better than before :).

I'm praying strength for you Peanut.

This might be the right time to draw spiritual and physical nourishment from the Word during this season.
There are seasons to rest and heal and time to be still and quiet.
I'm feeling a great wash of sisterly love and tenderness come over me and and a strong conviction the Spirit has you covered Peanut.
Praise Almighty God.

Husband just talked the ER doc into not admitting him, after 9 hours there today. That makes once a week for the last three. We are beginning to know the place well. He had chest pain and his sodium is very very low. Promised to see his regular doc and to drink a lot of V8. Is staying on his oxygen.
So I had to grab a teacher to replace me at work while I zoomed out of there today because he didn't want an ambulance. Not very fun. I'm scheduled for a very long day tomorrow, so off to bed I go. I think I'm going to insist on calling a commercial real estate agent this weekend. Enough is enough. I'm needed at home.

When I moved to this new house I found a fender from a 1930's era truck about a half mile from our house. Well I brought it home cleaned it up and painted it to match the trim on my garage. Today I attached it to the garage above the door as an awning. Wife thinks it looks OK so that's enough for me.:)

I really like the look and it is a prepper special, dual purposed. Fender -- now awning.

@Amish Heart I hope you can sell the school and remain at home with your DH and retire and move to the farm.

That is indeed how I came to retire early was I was working fulltime and came home and found DH on his back after a fall in the back yard. I asked him how long he had been there and he told me a while but it was 2 hours that he was unable to get up. I also said enough is enough and applied for the carer's pension after loosing my management job at around the same time due to the 2008 GFC. DH even told me that he felt guilty that I had to stay home and look after him :dunno: , I thought isn't that what a good wife should do ? as per our marriage vows for better or for worse.

Stripped the bed and the towels from the bathroom and loaded the washing machine with other whites and put it on, hung the washing on the clothes line, and brought it back in when dry. DH then watered half of the back lawn with the saved grey water from our showers and washing machine. We had lunch being homemade granola and headed out into the front yard.

DH ran the hay and dried grass clippings over with the ride on lawnmower and brought the ride on out the front and while he was doing that I weeded around the broad beans and then DH mulched the whole sweet potato bed and I mulched around some of the broad beans and cut back the lemon grass in the front yard while DH went back to make more mulch. We then mulched around the rest of the broad beans and brought the lemongrass clippings around the back to put them on the trailer to dry out as we will use it with hay for some mulch later.

Inside where I saw an offer in my email on a free listing promotion on eBay and no final auction fees on items sold so I listed 26 items and will take more photos tomorrow and list more homemade items.

Shortly we will make the bed with clean sheets and have some dinner.

i am so glad i came home when i did. i feel so much better without the stress . i haven't had to take any pain meds for my back and nothing for headaches.:great:

Sewing..I think husband is feeling some guilt, too, if I took care of him. He's been home for nearly three weeks since the fall, but has been working from home almost every day. I don't think he wants to admit that he's in bad shape and needs caring for. I don't have any problem with staying home and caring for him. I am married to him, and that's what I know what I should do and don't feel bad about it at all.

We here all care about y'all and keep all here in our prayers. I've been asking hubby what happens when one of us gets down, where are we going? Where can we keep at least some of our independence and no be a bother. He says he will stay here but that is not logical in the long run.

The mule deer were back this morning right next to the porch. 10 feet from where we were sitting having breakfast. Not the least bit worried about us being there.

And the most awsome news so far today... we now have electricity in the kitchen. Cabinets are being built as I speak. Errr type.

I don't think I am working summer school this year because of the kids Dr apts so if you need help I'll come up of I can.

Caring for dog with never ending 9 yr skin problem back on antibiotics, steroids and $30 shampoo.

When my little dog is itchy, I give her a tsp. of coconut oil in her food for a few days and then back off to a smaller amount. Seems to start up every summer for her.

Made it to the VA and home again yesterday. Actually made some progress and a couple new prescriptions for DH.

Went to Walmart and to pay a couple bills this morning and when I came home our company was packed up and ready to go on his Harley with his pup in the little trailer. He's off to FL and will hopefully stop back by in a few weeks. New company--couple with 2 small dogs--will be arriving tomorrow afternoon but they are just here for a couple of days. So, I'm going to pay a few bills, clean house, collect laundry and wash it so we will be ready for tomorrow. Having leftovers for dinner tonight and making goulash tomorrow for our friends. Going to a community wide yard sale tomorrow morning, so having a little fun amongst the cleaning! Feeling a little like a B&B&Dinner! LOL

I'm not really sure what else I want to do today. I already transferred over $1,000 for this month's bills, got some more stamps, paid a couple bills and got another pair of reading glasses. Guess I could go back to town and try again to pick up my prescription, but that means I'd have to get up o_O...decisions decisions.

My schnauzer has allergies in the summer , too. When she starts licking hot spots, I start her on a half of an over the counter Zyrtec. That’s what the vet recommended and it works pretty well. She just licks any oil or cream off.

Amish, this sounds tough. I wish both of you the best. I will keep you in my prayers.

Thanks Snap, I tried that and everything else. But now will try the flea pill. Don't like giving them chemicals but she has to have something.:Thankyou:
There is a young couple at the dog park whose pitbull itched and scratched like crazy. Several vets each made a different recommendation. One vet suggested that they give him a tablespoon of Greek yogurt with probiotics. Three days later and Smoky was well. It is an inexpensive thing to try.

No babysitting grand daughter today.
Mom and dad both off today, Granny needed a break.
Little ladybug girl is mobile with no naps for the last few days.
She starts out on floor, works her way butt scooting across the floor.
Finally gets ups on her knees, bends over at the waist takes Granny's sandals off.
Straightens up and she's off turtle run, little bit unsteady with balance.
Yesterday she cleaned off her bookcase, end table by the recliner, mom's bookcase in short time frame.
Procceeded to butt scoot into kitchen, to shoe rack. Yep, cleared that in 10 minutes.
Granny got tired of picking up mom's bookcase stuff, so I just sat down in front of it.
While I was sitting on the floor we did yoga.
Today did running for parents.
Went to Wal*Mart for them twice.
Came home let Strawberry out, she came back in pretty quick.
Took nap it felt wonderful
