Re:"something sits in a cardboard box in the shop building for months ... "

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle once wrote something like...

"
The human mind is like an attic. You can keep putting stuff in there but eventually you have to throw something away.

"

Yes, that was Sherlock Holmes telling Watson how the mind was like an attic, it could only hold so much info... and a man reached a point where, for every piece of info stored, another was lost. Good analogy, I know my brain can only process and store so much info... and the 'attic' seems to decrease in size the older I get, lol.

Thanks - unfortunately it only shows the low side port, I need to find the high side port too to throw pressure manifold on it - although it wouldn't hurt to just throw some refrigerant in it and see what happens!
The high pressure line will be between the compressor and the condenser coils (ones in front of the radiator). Just follow the line, often they will put it right behind the compressor....

Also of note today, Ohio became on of the "constitutional carry" carry states, so there will be a pistol in the car lock box full time, my DW will no longer be a felon if she gets pulled over.
I left my pistol in my wife's car one time. She was not happy that she could have gone to jail. I went to get my CPL and she got hers so it's not a problem now.
Washington will NEVER be a constitutional carry state. The libs here are trying to take guns not make it easier for law abiding citizen.

I'm trying to focus and reply to people's threads but as soon as I got to the new page my brain just wiped out everything I read. Had trouble sleeping last night bc I kept worrying about cat fights. My brother wouldn't do anything about his own cats and I had to keep breaking up fights.

Started having shortness of breath and feeling like I'm not getting enough oxygen a few days ago. Past couple days I've been having arrhythmia. All side effects of the generic thyroid meds I was switched to without consultation with me or my doctor. Pharmacy just randomly did it- despite instructions on it saying NOT to do that without consulting the doctor first. I already have cardiac issues and this is making it worse. I got a 3 month supply but I'm going to have to switch back to what I was on before bc this is not good for my health. It also causes fatigue. I can't focus or think clearly. Kept waking up with the arrhythmia/irregular heartbeat bothering me. My brother has been on this generic for months so its no wonder he's feeling awful.

If I can get my heartrate to normalize and get my energy levels up enough I'm going to do some cleaning today.

Went with husband to orthopedic appt to see what the MRI on his shoulder found. His rotator cuff in 80 percent torn. He can't have surgery on that or his back for his spinal cyst because of his lungs. So they gave him a shot in his shoulder. Bummer. Went to the pharmacy to straighten out mom's prescription billings. They had the wrong town listed for my address for paperwork, and they didn't have her new credit card number. Amazingly, it's all good now. Too hot and humid to be working outside. Did pick up another 500 lbs of chicken feed. One of our guineas was run over early morning. Found him in the road. They are great birds, but don't have a lick of sense to stay out of the road. Going to be doing stuff around here indoors mostly, and will take granddaughter to work shortly and stop in at the amish grocery.

I'm doing NOTHING. one of my many messed up body parts decided to let me know it was still junk and my knee has swelled up like a democrat's ego.

I'm enjoying my lunch and I looked at the Stock Market, S&P500 down 21% year to date... Makes me wonder how much lower it will go... I would hate to be one of those 60/40 investment types who never look at their account....
Watch a vid of a financial guy during lunch. He thinks S&P will end up down 30%. It 2/3rds the way now. Not sure it'll turn that soon IMO. I'm moved most of my 401 to money market in Feb. Just couldn't bear to loose what I had. Inflation is taking enough. Just keeping my eyes open to maybe move some back. Maybe not.

You forgot to tell us if you acquired a new turkey friend. . . .

Unfortunately, no. She hung around most the day but when we moved the ducks in to the chicken area and let the turkeys roam around the top half of the run she got spooked and wandered off across the street and into the brush. She will probably be back, they have a fairly large range around the area. But now she know there is good, tall, cool grass for her to rest in and find some snacks.

You know, that's what I thought as well. This van has had a rough life - I'm pretty sure it's been rolled once in the past, and the repairs to get it back on the road were pretty MacGyver (sheet metal bolted where windows were, and no two locks take the same key) and the previous owner lived in it and did some "creative" repairs on the road. I wonder if he replaced a/c line with one without a port at some point in time. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Magus, this is what I see as your ride...

Didn't feel good, yesterday. Fine today.

Walked first this morning, the Church to help at Vacation Bible School.

Picked blackberries on the walk home and made a sauce.

Made stuffed round zucchini squash

Did 2 loads of laundry.

Still need to harvest in garden and water.

I went outside early this morning and the battery charger hooked up to the car is saying the battery is fully charged.
YAYYY!!
Lord willing when I hook the battery back up the car will start.
I'll need the key fob because I'm pretty certain that the car alarm will go off the second I do reconnect it.

Prayers that the car will start with no issues please.
Thank you.

Nice 'REIGN OF FIRE' pic, I like dragon movies, lol...

Cleaned more wood paneling today, there's a LOT of it in this home. Manana, I'll start hanging the wall art, I just wanted that paneling nice and clean. It looked fine before, but a fair amount of dust and dirt came off with the Murphy-soaked towel rag. Place looks good now, so I'll continue my weeklong task of decorating tomorrow morning. It's break time, lol... ;)

I've decided to start by hanging the largest pieces, a framed print & framed poster which are rather large. My reasoning is this: it'll be easier to find the right spot for these framed works without any other stuff up yet, these are big frames and they're gonna need plenty of room for visual effect. I'll fill in the remaining wall spaces by working my way down in size.

That's my plan, it should work... as a bachelor, I always put the pool table in the largest room in the house; I sold the pool table with my last home, but I reckon I'll use the same principle for these larger framed artworks. That way I don't wind up with some huge piece crammed into a small space, lol. Makes sense to me! :)

Since this home is slightly smaller than my last home, I think I'll probably have some stuff to donate by the time I'm done decorating. No big deal, I'll do what I always do: put up the best stuff first, fill in some gaps with the intermediate stuff, and donate the rest, lol. Stick with the nautical & Western decor, plus the old travel posters from the '60s & '70s.
BACK TO MY COLD BEER, IT'S BREAK TIME!!! MEH, I'M THE BOSS OF THIS JOB, I'LL DO WHAT I WANT... :dancing:

I'm a PUTZ!!
I triggered the engine immobilizer.

Just got off the phone with several mobile mechanics and auto elecs...hahah...looks like the car is sitting here until next pension because the cost is mind blowing.

I work in a pharmacy and can tell you the insurance company switched it, not the pharmacy. I deal with this type of situation at least once daily for all kinds of meds. Have your doctor write DAW 1 or Dispense as Written on the prescription and make sure it’s written for the brand (Synthroid, Levoxyl, Tirosint whichever).

When you pick up your RX, if is the generic again just tell the technor the pharmacist to dispense brand only.

Since we are into health stuff today...
I got back from my followup visit with the Dr after having blood drawn for tests last week.
The good news: hardly any traffic because of the price of gas.
I honestly think more than half of the people on the road in the past were just joyriding to have something to do.
The bad news, (for some here):
All my numbers were fantastic!
I'm gonna be around for a long time.
LDL = 58.0:woo hoo:
Not building plaque in my arteries, not gonna have a heart-attack.

Try disconnecting the battery (just 1 cable will do), let it sit for a few minutes, then reconnect the battery. See if that helps.

I know the every car has a "secret" for resetting the anti-theft device, like "On a 2003 Chevy Maibu the theft system light comes on and blinks when the system is triggered. The car will not start and the fuel pump cuts out. You must turn key to on and have all doors closed. Keep the key to on for 10 mins til theft light turns solid and then disappears. Then turn key to start and it should fire up."

Knowing the year, make and model makes it easier to find the trick to make it work.

Tank-Girl, those anti-theft systems are based on codes, right? At the very least, I'd unhook the battery and try again, or go to the web for more info on getting over or around that hurdle. There has to be some way around it... if you can clear the code by unhooking the battery, maybe you can try again and do the right sequence with the key fob.

My 20-year-old Camry has an irritating feature like this, I forget the exact sequence I pull to get around it, but I DO get around it. It has to do with the ignition: if I pull some bonehead move, the car won't start, but if I follow a different sequence, no problem. Looks like others are chiming in, don't give up hope yet! And remember those video tutorials! Cheers!!! :)

"MOBILE MECHANICS?!? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING MOBILE MECHANICS!!!" ;)

Edit: UrbanHunter, you da man for helping out, Tank-Girl has enough on her plate without this sort of stupid electronic glitch. Pfffft, these modern vehicles---so advanced they're back in the Stone Age, lol.

Scratch that!

I just got it going.
With most auto electrical systems there's a work around and Hyundai's are notorious for having "quirks".....don't get me started....!!!!!
So I went on a Hyundai forum and I got so much information from cutting the wires to and from the immobilizer and bypassing it
BUT I went for the easiest...it's nutty...put the key in the ignition and turn it, if it's still immobilized, take the key out and bang the fob a couple of times and a hard surface and retry!
It WORKED!!!
They were saying that the inner workings of the key fob are notorious for being sticky and need a little controlled violence to get them to work.
I'm totally down with THAT!!
Now that I got it running I'm keeping it running so it can warm up and the battery can recharge more.

I just saved myself over $500!

Hooray!!! I tell my nieces & nephews to NEVER call a mechanic except as a last resort... too many video tutorials out there on specific makes & models. Even those who aren't mechanically inclined can fix a lot of problems... no point in throwing your money away. Good on ya, TG, for getting that problem straightened out... those electronic glitches are irritating, but there's usually a way around 'em. Cheers!!!

My Dodge Ram truck would sometimes trip the antitheft if the key gave a static spark to the ignition. It happened to me a few times. The cure was pulling out the right fuse and then putting it back into place. I marked the fuse in the fuse box after the second time it happened because I didn't want to search the internet again. After the third time I got into the habit of ALWAYS touching the key to the metal ring on the cigarette lighter plug before putting it the ignition. I have never had that problem again.

Scratch that!

Congratulations on trouble shooting the problem yourself.

I'm just taking my time and doing it right... at this point, I'm basically retired, though I'll take some side jobs for quick cash, lol. I've always been handy with tools, started early on in life, ya know? And this fixer home still needs work, but I'll slowly pick it up & hammer everything out until it's just the way I want it, lol. I'll be sure to post pics as I go, not everyone has nautical decor in the high desert! I have some cool rock climbing art too, a piece done by a gal who can climb better than most guys, myself included, lol... I have no problem admitting that fact, since I can outsail that gal any day of the week! Same goes for dirt biking, lol. Hey, we ALL specialize in one thing or another, that's just the way it is... knowing this and accepting it makes life a little bit easier. ;)

As for my ongoing interior decoration project, this ridiculous emoji sums up how I feel, lol... :dancing:

Mostly mundane stuff updating insurance company ...

Returned to the back porch The Princess wants me to convert to a greenhouse. My ex-tenant didn't throw anything away that could be used again.

A operational toaster oven and a few pair near news are headed to Goodwill. Ikea shopping bags going to The Princess for her Aldis runs. But a large garbage bag full of shopping bags?

I will have check with my buddy to see if he wants a box of guitar cords. He used to play rhythm guitar and owned the sound system.

It was wicked hot and I sucked down ice water and freeze pops.

Fled the heat and spent the rest of the day reading "The Lost Books of the Bible". About 85 pages left to go.
