Good morning!
Already walked and walked dogs.
Harvested okra and froze.
Made some pumpkin oat healthy-ish cookies.
Going to a bridal shower early afternoon and then cleaning up after.
Have to water what's left of garden tonight.
And that's all, I hope.

Writing a political document for a book series I'm writing about an idealized future space-faring society. I am working on a bill of rights for an empire in space.

Also playing a competitive video game.

I'm also cleaning my room. It's going to take all day because I have to ponder where stuff goes

Pretending to be Neb. Digging a trench for conduit, to run an underground electrical line from the school to the barn.

I am using a 12" posthole auger to drill holes along the line and then it's shovel and pick axe to clean up between the holes. Solid clay. Should be fun. Not.

I had to take my truck to the dealership again. Different problem but luckily they have the part to fix it in stock. I heard the pars guy say it was the only one they had left. 39 bucks for the part n a hour labor.
Before I came to the dealership..I stopped by a craft store n a guy towing a trailer hit my truck back passenger panel by the bumper..and the bumper too.
He was upset n very sorry..came into the store to find the owner. It really isnt that bad, he didnt damage anything critical so as he was calling his insurance n apologizing..I just told he not to worry about it.
He insisted on giving me money..I refused until he said , mam..its really make me feel better to at least give you something. Gas up your truck on me at least.
So..I was ok with that.
After my truck gets fixed I'm going to get a few things n head home.

The not part was how I felt working on the greenhouse. Finished one complete wall, except for the door. Started the other wall. Did scrap cleanup. Looked for door hinges, and couldn't find them. I thought I was a wuss using some of these power tools and framing up high by myself, till husband tried just one screw with the impact driver, and said it was harder than it looked. So I don't feel like such a wuss. Going to Lowes to get another box roll of plastic just to have. They have 6 mil in stock. Also picking up barbeque for dinner.

After yesterday's silence of the duck-ups the silence this morning was fantastic!
I should have culled these parasites a lot sooner.
I got 4 to go and their hours are numbered.
Their pen was/is directly under the kitchen window and when the Landshark starts moving in her crate it sets them off thinking someone was up to feed them and let them out into the yard.
I keep Landshark's crate in the kitchen because it's the only room large enough with hard vinyl flooring to hold her crate.
Even though the crate has a tray I'm not silly enough to trust it on my carpet.
I've had enough of my house smelling like a kennel.

Last year a cousin sold me 4 big rolls of fertilized hay at a very good price. As a thank-you I later dropped off a half pint jar of dehydrated cayenne peppers, vacuum sealed. It was one of 5 jars. A month went by before I opened one of my jars. They were pitiful, I’ve eaten banana peppers that were hotter. I poured the rest of mine out but had none to replace the jar I gave away.

I just took this cousin a mess of fresh jalapenos, serranos, tabasco and Thai peppers. He can make some good pepper sauce with these… they are HOT! All but the jalapenos will put sweat on my forehead and they aren’t far behind. At least it’s done. I’ve felt bad about giving such a crappy gift for a year now.

Found out the real details about my other cousin who died. I didn’t know he was so sick. No one tells me things. All my kin know I have cfs, they don’t tell me things cause they don’t want me to worry/stress. I usually find out things after the fact.

My cousin was diabetic, had a leg removed last year. I knew about that. What I didn’t know… he was in the hospital to have the other leg removed when his heart gave out. He wasn’t even at home when I started to stop last Thursday. His truck wasn’t there because his wife had it at the hospital. :(

That's terrible and I'm so sorry Peanut.

People started treating me like a toddler and keeping me out of the loop when they found out I had cancer so I know how you feel.
I had to pin my ears and show my teeth at the offenders and I'm pretty sure they got the message.

Sunflower festival weekend at Gorman Heritage farm. Couple hours driving the hayride tractor, shen strolling around answering questions and giving directions to what animals are where

@Peanut sorry to hear about your cousin. Let your family know that keeping things from you to prev the worry and stress can actually cause that after the fact.

i’m back home in Garbage Gardens (a.k.a. New Jersey). The ride down was pleasant enough until we got to Amsterdam. Then the people on the roads started getting crazy. Has everyone noticed how people are getting a very aggressive when they drive? Did stop at an orchard on the way home and picked up 2 pecks of apples.

@Peanut My condolences, I'm sorry for your loss.

Me, DH and son went to the big yearly fair near here, ate a lot of food and brought some home. Nothing else really caught my eye despite a good amount of vendors. The day started cool and sprinkling but we were fine with that, kept most of the people away until we were winding down. Came home, did some cleaning/organizing then baked a cake for my mom tomorrow. Relaxing now, I'll frost the cake in the morning.

Hangin' at the ol' hacienda after my ride, I expect it to be a quiet night... cats & kittens are making progress with their introductions, they've been playing together and all is right with the world. I'll probably read a book tonight, I feel like getting horizontal and relaxing... went to my room to read last night, and promptly fell asleep, lol. Hopefully I get a little farther into my Western tonight. ;)

Worked around the place all day, most of that will be in the garden thread. Came in a cleaned up, had a nice supper. Pork tenderloin, onions, apples, carrots, snap peas, sweet taters, yukon golds all roasted up. Yum

Now watching the Braves play the Mets leading to the playoffs. Drinking a nice glass or two of Brandy

Worked on chores around here, put a meatloaf in the crock pot, sorted through more boxes, pulled out furniture to vacuum behind, sliced up the last of the tomatoes to go in the dehydrator. Went for a motorcycle ride and almost got taken out by a big doe. The tomatoes are only half done and the fan in the dehydrator quit working. Meatloaf sandwich was good at least.

I canned 9 pts. tomatoes, did 3 loads of laundry, made a batch of soap for Hubby, and a batch of oatmeal monsters for Hubby, mowed part of the lawn, got onions on the dehydrator and vacuumed. I just remembered I need to go make the bed so I can crawl in it.

I got the line of holes drilled and a whole three feet of trench dug. I am too old and out of shape. Twelve years ago I would have been almost done. Now, it's time for a hot soak and some whinging about tomorrow.
It sucks getting old and not feeling up to the task you need to do. But a hot soak and another day will show more progress.

Quiet Sunday morning here, sunlight streaming through the pines and heaps of wild birds in the yard... gonna join 'em in a moment, as soon as I finish my herbal tea. Plenty of rain in the forecast this week, so I'll probably keep the watering light... no point in wasting water. Trash day manana, which means I'll be able to refill the bin and clean up my yard even more. I'll be glad when those piles of weeds & lopped branches & old (pulled) stumps are gone, lol. Maybe I should do a controlled burn this morning, since there's no wind... might be a good way to get rid of some of those weed piles. 🤔

Patchouli, our local library has plenty of Western novels, I just finished FIGHTING BLOOD by Gordon Young, part of the RED CLARK O' TULLUCO series, which has proven to be entertaining. Written in the early 1930s, so there are some classic Western expressions you just don't see in modern books. I'm going to work my way through the entire Red Clark series... I've laughed out loud at some of Red's expressions, they are hilarious! And as a character, he's a likable guy, just don't rile him and get him all worked up, or he may just part your hair with a bullet, lol. ;)

I’ll be spending the next couple of days putting away everything we brought down from the cabin and my brothers garden. Doing laundry from the cabin and putting that away for next year. Trying to get my apartment in order. At the same time trying to get Dad’s house in order.

Printing out pictures to hang on the wall to remind me of what I need to do in the mornings, as I have mental problems that prevent me from remembering my regular routines.

EDIT: And trying to beat the last level of a videogame. Cleaning my room, and practicing blackjack for vegas, where I go in two weeks

Peanut, I'm sorry about your cousin. That sounds awful.

I'm tired but trying to motivate myself to get up and clean. back is doing better but I'm still being careful. I installed a battery powered light in the front room just inside the front door. It has a remote control so the light can be turned on with it so people can see in there at night (since none of the lights work). I waited to ambush my brother when he came in from work. Turned the light on and showed him where I put the remote. Wish it had 2 remotes though. I'd put one near the door and the other across the room so it could be turned on by people going toward the door.

Took the dog on a long walk this am.
About a quarter way into it, I hear a rifle shot close..I stop, call the dog back to me.
I'm looking around thinking who the +×÷= is shooting so close to the trail n park?
I drove into town, I park my truck at the local park n hit the trail from here lately. I'm just outside the park about to cross the road to where the trail picks up again to head out when another one rings out ..this one was closer to me, close nuff to feel the sound compression feeling when you shoot.
I'm pissed and rattled..I yell out, "hay! What the F=÷!!! " then about 20 feet away on the road, I hear a vehicle stop n shut off. I hear a kid n man's voice, I'm yelling, hay! So they know I'm there n as I clear the bushes n trees that were blocking that part of the road from the trail I see the kid putting his rifle back into the truck n I tell the guy this isnt a good idea. He said he was done here and drives down the road about 50 more feet n shoots again.
They were hunting quail, in city limits, out of a vehicle and from on the road..shooting across a hiking trail, with a rifle not even a quarter mile from a park.

Dumb f+×÷&%! idiot ..

I need another hike just to cool off..

It's still raining and I am really tired of it. 3 days in a row now
I think I get depressed when it just keeps raining , wished it would stop so we could do stuff outside
Animals still in the barn which is not fun when we have to rotate them around to clean and put new hay and water . Barn has 4 areas, we are using 3 and the 4th one to put them in while cleaning, plus 2 other buildings that have the bucks and the ram in it
It's cold and uncomfortable and we are already burning wood in the kitchen stove

May I ask how old you are? I have mental problems too that sometimes prevent me from doing things but so far I have functioned fairly well in life

Had a wonderful day at the reunion. My last remaining great uncle was there (93). His mind is still sharp, in fact he yelled at me across the lawn. I didn’t see him sitting under the tent. He called me by a nickname I haven’t heard since I was 10, lol.

There were actually 5 seating areas. I went a little early and volunteered for elder duty at the big tent. Several of us pulled their cars up close to the tent, helped them get out, then parked their cars. A couple of my aunts had seating duty. Making sure all the family elders got seats and as much food as they wanted. Someone counted heads… 23 people over 80yrs attended. I was so busy I forgot to take pictures, only got a couple shots when I first got there.

Food… omg! There were 3 smoked boston butts, 4 big trays of crappie, 2 big trays of smoked chicken wings wrapped in bacon w/herbs and cream cheese, they were soooooo goooood! 2 cousins each brought a big tray of deviled eggs for me. At least that was what they claimed… lol. (there’s a rumor I like them)

There were 3, 10ft tables of side dishes and another for desserts. And 2 big coolers of fresh made lemonade, sort of a tradition. They make it in the coolers and use the drain as a pour spout.

Got to see lots of kin I haven’t seen in many years… so many of my cousins got old like me. I didn’t recognize any of their kids or grand kids. There was a hay ride for the little kids too.

The crowd was smaller than anticipated, never more than 70 folks at any given time. It lasted 5hrs. People would come, stay a couple hours, leave, then others would arrive. A revolving crowd.

No music… sad. I was the only picker who brought an instrument. But I left it covered with a blanket in my truck, had a feeling… I remember so many pickers at these reunions we had to split up into smaller groups.

Anyway, we had a wonderful day at the foot of the mountain… Sunny, beautiful blue sky, warm. Lots of memories...

That sounds like an awesome reunion, Peanut. I love reunions!
Finished the sides of the greenhouse, now all that's left are the two doors. I need to go buy hinges and some shorter screws tomorrow, then I'll get to work on them. Talked to my Florida sis for about an hour on the phone, and she'll be down visiting mid month, seeing us, and checking on mom. Filled her in on mom since it's been awhile that she's seen her (March). My favorite cousin has church at their place today, youth tonight, so no family dinner over there. Then no church next week, then they have it one more Sunday, then the church wagon will travel to the next farm.
