Start taking Ivermectin for Lyme disease.
It's a cure and one they have suppressed for decades.

I hope you get better and share the cure with your friend if it isn't against their teachings.

Went to doctor, got prescription for 3 weeks of Doxycycline for prevention of getting it. I just had the tick on me, if you catch it right away you can kill the Lyme bacteria with antibiotic. She also told me I need to take it for at least a week, but can stop then since I had Cdiff from taking massive loads of antibiotics when I had my accident ( it's gone now but could come back if I take the wrong antibiotics for too long) . So far so good, took 2 yesterday and no problems.
It's much harder to cure when you already have symptoms and didn't know you got bit or when. So if you get bit by a tick and it shows a red circle around the bit , go to the doctor right away to get antibiotic.
Well, if you are in a State that has it and it's that type of tick. I had ticks on me in Florida many times but never got Lyme because the ticks there dont have it, or rarely.

Got a cream for the shoulder, rotater cuff injury. Was told to rest it for at least 2 weeks.

I also got a flu shot ( I asked for one) . I haven't gotten one since before Covid and have a feeling we are due for a bad flu year. Made very sure I asked for FLU only , NOT covid

It's kind of the opposite where I live. People are loyal to Chevy and Ford here and they're the most popular and most available. I drove GM cars all my life. But after having driven a Toyota for a year, I probably won't go back. Toyotas just seem to be made better...

I like GM, had a Nissan ONCE and it was a piece of crap. Name one Toyota that can replace a Suburban or a large truck. There isn't one. We would not be able to load our market stuff in any Toyota

Oh but I have a friend in Florida that likes her Prius ( hybrid electric)

I think any Nissan with the newer style CVT transmission is going to be a maintenance problem. But some of their older vehicles like the little Hardbody pickups and the old style Pathfinders, before they switched to unibody construction, are really durable.

I'm at work again but not busy. Sipping Earl Grey and counting down the hours until the weekend. It's supposed to be up in the 60s this weekend so we still haven't put the boat away yet. Going fishing on Sat then we'll have to discuss when we're going to winterize the boat. DH wants to keep it out as long as possible but I don't like waiting until the snow flies.

A friend gave me his Toyota van, think it had about 180k on it. Got it up to 320k I think, I know I pushed it to over 300,000. Never really had any problems with it, until it caught fire…on my birthday. Ha. Haha.
It’s the Nissan I’m concerned about. Was told I could end up with a big issue down the road, notorious for that problem but I forget what it is and not a cheap easy fix…some people know how to fix anything.

Have fun, Backlash! I love sportfishing! My favorite fish off San Diego were the albacore, they were so darned tasty when grilled right there aboard the boat, lol. There are much larger tuna out there, but albacore was always my favorite. I used to make sandwiches out of bread, mayo, Brie cheese & smoked albacore---sometimes I'd substitute cream cheese for Brie---and those sandwiches were SO DAMNED GOOD, you'd think you DIED and went to HEAVEN, lol. I don't care what ANYBODY says, anything that tastes THAT good HAS to be HEALTH FOOD, lol.

Chaosdawn, I have some pics I've been meaning to dig out, the ones from Green Bay, WI, mainly for the geese thread, but some of those Green Bay pics show how they winterize boats up there... I'll dig 'em out here in a few moments, I gotta post a couple o' cat pics for Pearl too, lol. The pics are right here next to the table, I have an apple box full of photo albums from my 'trucking daze' and I've been meaning to share more of those pics, especially when I start my 'Road Safety' thread... yes, believe it or not, ONE day I will start that thread, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I'd put my Tundra up against any Chevy pu 3/4 ton or less. Sequoia is closest to a Survurban, but they aren't as long.

Well going to the doctor today. I can now add potential Lyme disease to my injured shoulder....found a tick on my back yesterday and it has a large round weird looking area around it. One of my Amish neighbors has Lyme ( she didn't know when she got bit ) and from the symptoms she described it's not fun. I think you have to take an antibiotic right after you get bit to avoid it. So wish me luck.....

I put this book in the library. You folks have seen the photos I post... I'm in the woods far more often than most folks. I get multiple tick bits every year.

This was a lite year, only 4 or 5 bites. One year I lost count, the number was in the 30's. I've never experienced any lyme symptoms. I dose heavily with Usnea tincture after every bite as a preventive. I've gotten 100's of tick bites in the last 15years.

My cousin runs cattle over back of me... He doesn't get as many bites as me but he gets several each year. A few years ago he almost died from lyme, 2 months in the hospital. It's something he has to live with the rest of his life.

Lots of research done on usnea, even by our own national institute of health. They know it's an effective antibiotic.

I put this book in the library, excellent, thorough and written in plain english. Covers lyme and RMSF.

Computer ran fine last night and so far today... don't trust it now. As I tend to do... I tested my system. I/O buffer errors usually come from a cpu's handling of hard drives (cd/dvd readers, thumb drives), data flowing to and from storage devices.

So last night I downloaded and installed imaging software, music software and document readers. All handle large files plus they were downloaded as a chunk of data also, that had to be handled.

If I have flakey hardware on the mother board (data handling), it'll most likely show as error in one these new programs I've installed. Time will tell. I lose nothing by installing them, in fact gain a lot of intel. Might find new software I like plus... to verify cpu handling of the physical hard drive. Basically... I kicked it the teeth and dared it to have an error.

All programs installed properly and they preformed correctly.

No plans for today but processing peppers. Still have to get the tabascos picked from the branches.

I stopped at the church coffee shop on my way to the bank with the car insurance check that finally came. While there I ran into someone from church that is still dealing with the suicide of an elderly parent on Halloween last year. I was there almost two hours talking, and still haven't gotten to the bank. I really need to get there, but I think I was needed more at the coffee shop...

Since the part for the ice maker fot screwed up again I proceed with the work to insulate the roof of the greenhouse. The roof was built on 2' centers with drywall panels just dropped in place. I pulled four panels raining coal dust down on myself as I went.

Since the greenhouse is in operation I am doing the work in sections. Trying to fit the space blanket in one piece would have been a nightmare so two 2' sections at a time is challenge enough.

Then fitted the rigged doom insulation to lay on top of the drywall panels.

Did I mention coal dust?

I made 8 bottles of pepper sauce this afternoon. I ran out of bottles. I know I have more somewhere but didn't find them.

I thought about used 1/2 pint jars. I have a case of decorative and one that's plain. Don't know how the vinegar would react to the bottom side of the metal lid.

Still have plenty of peppers to dry, mañana.

Long day with aunt Sylvia's funeral. Then a little under 20 of us met at Olive Garden for a meal. Glad we did go, because there was 6 of us, and not so many other people went to be with my cousins in mourning. We picked up my favorite cousin and her brother that wanted to go, and knew my aunt. I think some in attendance didn't realize that she had amish relatives. Mom behaved, kind of. We brought her to our place for awhile, but she's kind of a disagreeable mess tonight, so sis just left to bring her home. She's taking her shopping tomorrow, that'll cheer her up. And we're going to another cousin's house down the road tomorrow afternoon...they had hundreds of lambs born recently, and we've been invited to see them.

I assembled the mini greenhouse. I put asparagus in it. I started them from seed. I'm not sure what I'm doing but it's hard to find crowns here. Anyway I put bricks filled with concrete in each corner, although I am not sure that it will work. I also tucked in that part that is sticking out. I out a brick there too.

I know there's a time difference between us, as far as location goes, lol, but check my KLR 650 thread this weekend (if ya don't last tonight, lol). During today's ride, I found a signboard which described an old wooden train trestle in 1936 or whenever, the signboard had a primo historical picture of a locomotive & coal car (?) crossing the trestle... so I'm gonna post those shots soon as well. Just check 'em out whenever, I was thinkin' of ya when I saw the signboard and took shots of it, lol. Cheers!

I now like most Asian cars, and in fact my daily driver is a Hyundai. But growing up I was a Chevy and MOPAR girl. In fact the best car I've ever had to date is a MOPAR product. But for me to say I like one Asian car over another...I just can't.

Most Asian cars are made in the US now. Many US cars are now made in Canada, Mexico, or even China. It's hard to call cars American or Asian. I figured the Corolla I just bought was made in Japan but no, it's Canadian! And my Toyota made "Japanese" truck, was built in Mexico. My Pops will only drive Chevy, he has a Silverado and an Equinox. Both were made in Canada.

I lost all my national loyalty to Detroit made cars a long time ago. I just buy whatever I think is the best I can get for the money I'm willing to spend...

I agree with what you said about Detroit. I was put out with Chevy and Chrysler during the buyout a few years back. However the papers on my car...it SAYS it was made in Korea. Key word...says and is or was are different things.
