Probably...Maybe it's too soon??
It's Saturday morning, and I'm home.Oh man hopefully no one!!
How’s @rice paddy daddy doing?? Did I miss a post on how his hospitalization is going?
Maybe that can be the threes and we don’t have to have any more of our friends injured or hurt
This is so scary and dangerous. It made me think of the concussion my daughter got about a year ago, which had her thinking of the many previous times in life that she probably had them. She counted the potential of 8 concussions from playing soccer, hang gliding, sky diving (when she broke her ankle), fainting and hitting her head on the way down.I went up to the coffee shop this morning. While there, the lady running the shop asked me to do her a favor and haul two big trash bags out to the dumpster for her. She's elderly, so I said "Sure, no problem" and carried them out. It was snowing heavily, very large fluffy flakes, and the snow was two inches deep. I took two steps out the door and my feet went right out from under me! I fell on my back and cracked the back of my head on a solid sheet of ice under that snow. There's a pretty good knot back there and I'm still not feeling quite right, although it's better now than it was right after it happened. I'm debating going to get it checked out. I have mild pain behind my eyes and my neck is sore like I twisted it. My kid is here now and we'll monitor the situation and go to the nearest hospital if necessary.
I have been places where signs said no flip flops. There must be some record or information that talks about how dangerous they can be.You probably have a concussion. This happened to me once at a theme park in Orlando. I slipped and fell on wet pavement wearing flip flops. But it actually knocked me out for a minute or few. They took me to the hospital in the ambulance and did a scan on my head . If you feel nauseous you probably have one , mine was bad for about 3 days. I couldn't even read anything, my vision was blurry.
Thank you. That was a first for me. In talking with others, I guess that having a blowout is not uncommon. For me, flat tires have always been slow and gradual, due to something in the tire such as a nail or screw. I had one of those a few weeks ago, a slow leak from a screw in the tire. As soon as I realized it, I drove to get it repaired.Weedygarden, that sounds rough. I'm glad you got the tire replaced and didn't crash over the tire blowing out.
I've had it about 3 times. Once I had a defective new tire in Guam. My insurance agent personally came out and changed the tire to a spare for me (my jack had been stolen when it was in a repair shop). Another time the tread delaminated from a tire and started shredding on a long drive. I pulled over and called for curbside assistance. And the last time was driving home. Pot holes were bad and I hit one that popped it. Was in a dead zone for cell signal so had to limp it back home no the rim. Fortunately, no injuries from any of them.Thank you. I wore them when I was younger. I was wearing a pair when I went through Wind Cave in the Black Hills. One broke while I was down there. I haven't worn them in decades, but there is some convenience to them.

Some of us learn from life's experiences, some do not. Wow, about your foot!Absolutely!!!! We were going on water rides at IOA and it was starting to storm, so we were running towards the exit and I slipped on the concrete....
But it gets worse: I was wearing flip flops when I stepped on the scythe and cut off half my foot....I don't own anymore flip flops.
Teva's, Chaco's or other versions of those solidly made sandals are so much better.I agree on flip-flops. Never been a fan of them. Even when I was lifeguarding I'd rather be barefoot or with a solidly strapped on set of teva-style sandals than 'flops!
I've been in Iowa in bad snow storms. It is not pretty. I'm sure there are people in Iowa who dress like some people do here in Colorado. Parka and shorts? Parka and flip flops? I know that some people feel warmer than others, but some people just look stupid.Flip flops are for the beach, for taking a shower in a locker room, or for Gen Zs that are so lazy they can't even be bothered to put on real shoes. Kind of like when they can't be bothered to put on real pants and only wear gym shorts every day. I see the kids here wearing gym shorts and flip flops when it's 10° outside. It makes me want to carry a 2x4 around and beat them...
I wear shoes I can run in, always be prepared!!Teva's, Chaco's or other versions of those solidly made sandals are so much better.
I know that everyone is not a fan of Croc's, but they work for me. I have a pair that I bought when they first came out. They are my yard and garden shoes. I can slip in and out of them easily. I can get them wet with no problem. Mine are so worn, there is almost no tread on the bottom.
I can run in my Chaco's. I don't like to water in the yard and garden and get my shoes wet, so that is why Crocs work there.I wear shoes I can run in, always be prepared!!
There was a really bad snow storm in South Dakota about a decade ago. That storm also took out more than 100,000 head of cattle. There were news reports of many people dying because of being ill prepared. One carload had people who had no shoes on and no coats, and they froze to death.Yes indeed the shorts parka and flip flops is a phenomenom that can be observed even in winter time in montana. they ride around in their cars and evidently don't have a clue how serious it can get with the smallest car problem.
