Woke up coughing. Felt like crap. Left arm is tense and sore but still moving ok. I need to take it a little easier on it today. I'm resting to recover from yesterday, but I need to get up soon to clean litterboxes. I left them too long because I was sick and got dizzy when I tried to clean them before. Now they are at the point that scooping won't work, just have to dump them entirely and clean them out. So, that is on the agenda as well as some cleanup in the kitchen. Then I will clean off the tub and see how well my cleaning paste worked. I'd take more pictures but my phone got disconnected from the charger and shut off. I have it charging now.

Getting ready to fly back to Nevada for work. This concussion has been stubborn and as of today I definitely don't feel ready to return to work. It could feel much better tomorrow or it might not be any better. My job is to operate a machine that shakes and bounces almost violently during every cycle. I doubt I can handle it so I think I'm going to try to work out a deal with my boss to do something a little different, that will be less strenuous for a couple days. If I can't do that, I'll probably lay off until my head feels better. That sucks, because if I lay off I'll be stuck in a hotel without any expense money for the days I don't work. But I don't really see a choice unless things really improve by tomorrow...

I hope tomorrow is a "better" day for you!

I hope you get feeling better soon, Spike.

Finally got up and cleaned litterboxes, cleaned an epic ton of crud off of the counter near the sink (stuff piled up while I was sick), & swept the hallway. I need to clean the tub but I got overheated and am taking a break.

Well I survived the meeting, and I'm not in jail. I got up early, did the animals very early, picked up the neighbor girl for amish school, dropped off little granddaughter with the same neighbor to hang out with her. So I was wondering if they were going to stand us up, 20 minutes late. But they're not used to driving to our farm area and just were kinda lost. The twins were still here upstairs, so we had the meeting in our bedroom where we could have privacy. So they started out by reading the allegations one by one, and wanted a response to each. So the first one was no civility in the household. I didn't understand what they could of meant. I told them their schedule...out the door early, home after we've gone to bed. Next was name calling. I told them that they haven't spoken to me for months and months, and asked what name. Narcissist was mentioned. I've never called them that, but I do believe they are. Next was blamed and shamed for personal hygene. Neither of us know what they're talking about. I asked for a for instance, and they didn't have one. Next was that they have to feed themselves. I told them that I cook breakfast, lunch and dinner every single day, and they are welcome. And there's plenty in the cupboards and fridge. And pointed out that the family therapist had told them to eat at least one meal a week with us, and that they refused. Next was that granddaughter was depressed and we denied her doc visits for meds, and we told them that she has her own med card that pays for it and prescriptions 100% and she goes to the docs plenty without us (and the dentist, too) and she can go do whatever she wants. I really believe she doesn't want to use meds, just wanted us to look bad. So they said they would schedule an appt for her and take her. That's fine. And they said I locked the basement and denied them access. I told them that grandson was taking emergency candles, lighting them in his room, taking lighter fluid, and whole bottles of cough syrup that he would guzzle. And granddaughter took my arthritis pills, instead of using tylenol or Aleve that's in the bathroom cabinet.

Continuing on....they wanted to know if they were safe. I told them I don't know where they go or what they do, but grandson's drug use was out of control. He's been on a three day bender, since no school today. The child services officer asked what they smell was when she walked in, it was bothering her chest. It was the drugs he was doing all night. I told her that I asked him to stop and he won't. That I turn in drugs to the sherrif when I find them. That his sis takes him to buy the drugs, and he hides them in her locked car. And I told them about how I can't leave in my car when they are outside, because she'll block me in or almost hit me. So I told them it was us that were not safe. Then I reread the list of what they said we did to them, and asked them what I could do to make this all better for them. They said there was nothing. The child services officer said if they weren't home, she would of liked to have seen their rooms and the bathroom. She said she'd be talking to her supervisor and get back to us. She said we had a right not to have to have drug use in our home (duh). Their therapist didn't know what to think. And didn't say much. Oh, and they complained about my countdown of days. Acted like it was a huge thing on a calendar in the kitchen. I showed them my little index card, and they didn't think much of it. Told them it was for my mental health. And it shows 111 days. I told them that they need to go.
So glad that is over with, but this is not over. The ladies were thrilled with our old farmhouse and all our animals, and the land and the greenhouse. I thought that was funny. Who knows what the twins have told them. I know some really awful stuff.
The neighbor that watched little granddaughter made us a bunch of peanut butter cookies.

I'll say it again, I really feel this is going to bite them in the rear! Hard!

I have no words AH. Praying you are relieved of this stress soon.

@Amish Heart, glad you have the meeting behind you, prayers for your family & sanity the next 111 days! I know we had similar issues with our daughter when she was 19, and my heart goes out to you. The amount of sanity that returned to our house once she was out was incredible. I personally almost felt like different person with all that stress off my back..

We caught the escape artist rooster last night. During dinner heard him crowing right outside the back door - he was eating the seeds under the bird feeder and were able so snap him right up. I recently got a $9 long-handled fishing net @ Walmart and it made scooping him up super easy. I was an idiot and made my growout pen as deep as my arm to the back wall, but forgot to consider the corners, so there was a "safe spot" the birds would all gather in when I went to grab them. Now they are no longer safe there. As of this morning I'm back down to one rooster - I'm sure the neighbors will appreciate that!

Had the day off today, but forgot about it until I logged into work and went to reply to the "good morning" email thread and didn't find one there, so was pleasantly surprised. Puttered around with a bunch of odds and ends that were nice to get done, especially setting up a seed starting table in front of the big window in my bedroom :)

Hey you all!
Sorry I haven't been here much.
Trying to get my life sorted out before I make next decision about what I want to do or where I want to live.
I work 3 days a week.
Go to school 2-3 days a week.
I am beginning to think French Cuisine Class isn't for me.
Neither is French Pastry, that produced hockey pucks today.

I think to be a really good French chef, you should talk like Julia Child 😂. Aw, c’mon. Give it shot.
PS - finished supper.

Well...my machine started up good! The sorter took about 2 hours to get the computers to communicate ..kinda..with eachother.
I had to drop n manage the sorting bins manually..but I got that far at least.
By 5 pm the forklift driver was toast j I will finish out the bins tomorrow...
Still lots of wss work to do with it its something..
I brought my rice crispies treats I made for church .folks were smiling!

I went to culinary school and learned French cuisine.

I ended up moving overseas and never really put it to use. One has to have a lot of money to buy the ingredients and live where you can actually get them, for the high end stuff, so I don't make it very often.

I spent four months just learning how to make fancy sandwiches. Ooh la la

Amish Heart, that sounds like a very frustrating situation and I'm glad you got to give your side of things. I hope your grandson can get some help with his drug addiction. I think he will have to be separated from his sister in order for that to happen. She will keep enabling and encouraging him if he's around her and he needs to be away from that influence. It sounds like she's lashing out and trying to make you hurt as much as she feels she's hurting. I really think she lacks the maturity to really understand or grasp the situation or appreciate how you've been taking care of her. They really complained about a locked basement? Why would they need access? Its your home. You have a right to lock whatever room you want. Its not like you are locking them in somewhere. They really do not realize how fortunate they are. I don't wish any ill on them, but I do hope they figure things out sooner rather than later.

Teej, I'm glad you caught the escaped rooster. Chickens can be hard to catch sometimes. Although, if they are fat enough its harder for them to run.

Mo! I'm so glad you're back!

Hooch, rice crispies treats are delicious. I had to cut back on them though. Eat too many at once. LOL.

I've never been much of a cook and I don't enjoy cooking. I like eating but dislike the cooking part. I use the microwave too much. I'm still trying to figure out how to use the new air fryer.

Mom finally woke up so I microwaved some food for her. Fed the kitties and worked on scrubbing the tub in my bathroom more. That adhesive is really on there. I'm having to use a chisel to scrape it off.

I don't know the back story on this but if you want them out ask your personal doctor for a note saying that your BP or pulse or stress or something is too high and that continued stress from these ungrateful kids is making you unhealthy and that the kids need to go. Give that letter to the case worker and tell them they need to find another location for the kids to live. The kids don't deserve you, they wont behave or follow your rules, and you do not need to put up with their crap for another 4 months. Maybe ask for two copies of the letter so if the case worker doesn't help you can take an original copy to a judge for a court order to remove them from the house. IF the day comes they are removed from the house call to have a local law enforcement officer stand by to Keep The Peace as the kids are packing their stuff and walking out the door.

Well today (yesterday) our neighbors arrived with our cut and packaged 1/2 of beef and it is neatly sorted and stacked in the freezer. The steaks look yummy, plenty or marbling in the meat. Work was annoying, as usual, and I really didn't want to be there. I don't know if that was due to be annoyed with management not fixing any problems or with my sever lack of sleep the past week or so, or probably a combination of both.
Starting in about 12 hours we will be getting at least 3 to 5 days of snow and cold weather, and depending on which weather moron you listen to this could last a full week. This storm is pushing straight down the west coast and hanging out a while before turning east northeast across the middle of the country. There are even guesses at possible snow in Las Angeles and cold wet weather reaching well down the Baja Peninsula in Mexico. The weather app on our ROKU internet TV box claims I may get between 19 inches and 37 inches over the next 3 or 4 days Now, I take these reports with a grain of salt but this prediction has held steady the past few days when usually their guesses change day to day if not hour to hour. I told my boss I will be at work tomorrow (tonight) since that is day one of the storm but depending on how much we get and if the county clears the highway or not I may not be in Wednesday or Thursday. He was OK with that but warned me that I already have 2 "occurrences" for coming in late last fall when I went to Nevada to watch my son play football a couple times. A third occurrence is a write up and warning about possible termination. I am good with that, because it means if the weather is bad Wednesday and I miss work I will take off Thursday and possibly Friday because they will only write you up for the first missed day. Consecutive days are considered one event and only one write up. But, I do have enough personal time to cover one call out day but if I make it in Thursday and the weather keeps me home Friday that would be 2 different incidents.
Before work (at Home Depot) I went to ACE Hardware to buy a couple new shovels in case I need to shovel a bunch of snow. Why ACE? They have actual cashiers at their cash registers who are polite and friendly, unlike the self check out confusing computer things at Home Depot in the evenings. During the day have one, or maybe two, staffed registers but nothing staffed after 6pm. If I am a customer I deserve customer service, plain and simple. I have told the managers that several times but they don't care enough to pay an extra cashier for the evening shift.

Well, I am now a grandma:) She was born at 4 am this morning, after my poor daughter had a long and difficult labor. But everyone is ok. 7.5 lb girl
I didn't sleep well, of course, but didn't want to bother them every hour

Husband just checked the sheep, no new lambs. 3 ewes still left to go

Have to go grocery shopping today. I decided on the crappy but closest walmart and just get the most necessary things like milk and bananas and leave the rest for after all the lambs are here

Neither is French Pastry, that produced hockey pucks today.

French pastries are just too time consuming to me. I thought about making croissants and selling them at the market, but it takes too long to make them and I would not have enough time for my other bread
I do love watching the great Brittish baking show ( they have a pastry day)
