Nice morning, so I'm heading outdoors to enjoy some spring sunshine... won't be that long before the weather gets hot, lol. I like spring & fall in the high desert, those are the best months. Winter is okay, since it's pretty mild... but summer can get hot, triple-digits and sometimes over 110, but at least it cools off quickly at night due to the elevation. I'll run A/C during the worst of it, mainly in the afternoon & evening... just short spells of A/C to keep the temp knocked down indoors. I already tested the A/C and it's good to go.
I think I'll dig some more holes for stuff I'll be planting soon, even if I run out of soil amendment materials... I'd like to get the planting rows laid out so all I have to do is put the seedlings into the ground. Maybe buy some more soil and soil amendment stuff in the near future, I'm only doing what I have to do in order to keep things growing. I wanna make a trip to Las Cruces for some of that Azomite Peanut mentioned, the trace minerals would probably help stuff grow in this high desert soil. Not the best soil, but once it's amended it will support life, lol.
Otherwise, I'll be hangin' out at the ol' hacienda today, no need to go anywhere... I don't like going to town on weekends anyway, all the stores are more crowded. Same way I don't like riding up in the mountains on weekends, why deal with extra traffic when I can go during the week? Not that traffic is heavy here, but hey, when you're on a bike, less traffic is good, lol. I checked the forecast, and it looks like we'll have some calmer days toward the end of the week, so I may FINALLY go riding after all. I just like riding on the best possible days with the least amount of traffic, lol.
It was the same way with sailing back in San Diego: I'd try to go on Tuesdays & Thursdays, since there were civilian and naval ship movements on Mondays & Fridays, and rich wanks would hold their 'Beer Can Races' on Wednesdays. I'd avoid weekends due to marine traffic, and especially holiday weekends when there were a million drunken fooliots on the water... most of 'em clueless about the 'Rules of the Road.' Some of those drunken powerboat "operators" were downright dangerous, and yes, there were collisions where people got killed. Better to go on Tuesdays & Thursdays, lol.
