Happy Mother's Day near and far.
Sipping coffee now resting.
This morning got the kitchen cleaned, dishes done.
Got 4 pints of carrot coins processing in the water bath canner.
Started another 5 trays of sliced mushrooms in the dehydrator.
Semi powdered the dehydrated mushrooms from yesterday.
Got those mixed up into dry mushroom gravy mix.
Still got sweep the floors.
Do a load of laundry up.
All in all fair to middlin day.
Oh, yeah......
Spell check doesn't like redneck... hillbilly talk.....plain talk....
Update: laundry is almost ready for the dryer. It's spinning now.
Carrots are out of water bath canner.
So far only one has pinged.
And that ping is a delightful sound to my ear.
Resting again.
Reading forums.

Lost my ass at the casino last night and on the way home gave another $550 to the state of Missouri for a speeding ticket. 🤣🤣🤣

Going to my brother and SIL for Mother’s Day cookout. Neither she nor I have children that have less than 4 furry legs But it’s all good because we’ll all be together. Mom would be very happy that we’re all hanging out. He’s also employing dad and I to help plant his potatoes.

Brother came over this morning to help get the battery charger on the pontoon boat. While he was it was determined place needs a new roof. That’s going to hurt.

Wow, Hashbrown and Mo. I thought it was terrible paying my $114 speeding ticket recently.
Brought the luncheon to mom at the manor, and my cousin met us there. She ate one bite of meatloaf, three bites of mashed potatoes, and two bites of cheesecake. She is losing so much weight. Just won't eat. Had a good time visiting, my cousin brought her flowers and chocolates. We brought her some new blouses, and sis got her a flower picture book. But sadly, she won't even remember any of it by now.
Lounging around, and getting takeout later. Light rain going on, and that's a good thing for the wheat and alfalfa

It's Sunday, so an easy day. Church, started some more seedlings for garden, outside animal chores, a nap. Lady next door gave us some aster seeds and some gloves for Lori so I will start the seeds tomorrow. Thinking about dinner, but can't decide what.

Well, after reading some posts here earlier and realizing that it was Mother's Day, I changed my plans... I lost me dear departed mum 7-1/2 years ago, and since then I've not really had any way to share or celebrate the day with her. To this day, she is still very much loved and missed. Somehow, this paltry 2-hour home rehab task I had lined up for today seemed disrespectful to her memory... I told myself I should spend the day in reflection, doing things she would've enjoyed, like reading a good book and cooking a good meal. I took good care of her in her declining years, cooking all of her meals for her, as I'm no slouch in that department. So, with all this in mind, I postponed the floor treatment in the bathrooms for one day... it can be done tomorrow. Tonight I will relax and think good thoughts of me mum... may she rest in peace. 😢

The only solace I take from her death is that she's not around to see the fraudulent criminal travesty our gubmint has become. In a way, I'm glad she's not here to see it. Same goes for my dad... he would NOT be happy with the direction this country has taken under these fraudulent criminal swine, the stinking Biden Crime Family. Linked to the Kenyan Baboon, of course, another fraudulent scumbag & sellout... can't really call him a traitor, since he wasn't born in Hawaii as the slimy Democrats claim. Funny how that Hawaiian 'birth doctor' oh so conveniently died before any more questions could be put to that greaseball. Meh, I'm not here to think about those filthy criminal swine, I'm here to reflect upon the virtues of a good woman, a strong woman who hailed from a pioneer family, and p!$$ on the slimy stinking political trash. 😠

"REST IN PEACE, MA... I STILL LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU! FOREVER & EVER, YOUR LOVING SON." 🙂

I gotta admit, you guys are the last people that I thought would be getting speeding tickets.
I haven't gotten one in years.
I'm certain that all of my friends that I out-ran when I was racing on the streets are deeply disappointed:mad:.
Ok, I have to confess, we do have radar-detectors in both vehicles.
For 4 decades, I have always wanted to know when "The eyes were upon me".

I got pulled over a couple years ago. A straight road across a swamp then up a huge hill. I've gotten a run at that hill my whole life.

It's a really steep hill. Most of you will get this... years ago in a f-100 long bed, 350, 3 on the tree. I always had to grab 2nd gear before getting to the top of that hill. Loaded log trucks don't try to go up that hill.

Anyway, didn't see that cop get behind me. I was doing 70mph at the bottom of the hill, 40 by the top. He then pulled me over, obvious what I did and why so he didn't give me a ticket. Just checked my papers, said slow it down a little.
------------------------

Didn't do a lot today, bad tired.

My brain is not wanting to retain thoughts.
Sonya, I hope the dewormer will work for the goats. When we had them we lost a couple to worms because we didn't know enough about goats before getting them. Rookie mistake.

I visited my friend. He rescued a new kitten even younger than the ones he's been caring for. It was in the middle of the highway and he hit the brakes, jumped out, and ran to save it before it could get run over. It's on formula and wet food. Its a solid black kitten and I want to take it home so badly.

Went to Walmart and grabbed some groceries, but did forget something mom requested.

Talked to HD employees to get a discount on my bundled order of a miter saw and stand. The stand arrived but UPS seems to have lost the saw. CS person gave me $70 credit to offset cost of buying a different saw in stock at the nearest store. CS agent was very nice.

Mixed ice cold water with the mortar mix and took another shot at it. Back was screaming at me while I was mixing but I kept going. Made a huge mess but it was on the plastic-- anything that got off the plastic I wiped up immediately with shop towels. Got the mortar finished to my satisfaction and then cleaned the toilet. Cooked for Mom. Organized stuff in the bathroom and looked for some things I misplaced. Will have to look again in the morning after I pick up my saw from HD. IF I can find what I'm looking for I will try to repair the scrape on my tub before the surround is put in because I will have more space to do it before the surround is up.

Had a great time over at brother’s. Planted potatoes with him. Had great BBQ and funny stories.

dad drove home and hit either a chunk of stone or one of those big turtles up here. Saw it too late to correct felt like a big pot hole. Got back to the cabin and tire pressure gauge goes off. Yup he gots a flat tire. Tried putting air in it using the compressor. I could hear it leaking out. Calling AAA this morning - that’s why he has the membership.

and now to top it off I woke up to 45*. actually just turned the heat on for old man.

Now that our snow is finally melted off I've started working on fence repairs. Yesterday I got about a half mile repaired. Only a few broken wires to stretch and splice and a dozen new posts to set. Put a new gate in the fence around the pump house too and repaired the damage where I rolled the tractor over on the fence. Today I'm going to work on the worst section of fence. There's about a half mile stretch that drops down a steep canyon. I have to carry the tools, chain saw, posts and barb wire on my back through thick trees and heavy brush. Depending on how bad it is, I could finish that section in a couple of days. A lot of our fence line is too steep to drive a truck or atv to, so I end up carrying everything I need.
Back in the old days when they first built this fence, they didn't pay much attention to the actual property lines. Most of our fence is way over the property lines to our benefit, some places by several hundred feet.

@Mountain trapper the previous owner of my property put the fence over the property line out of arrogance, I ended up having to move one side but was able to purchase 6' on the other side for $10 when that neighbor went to prison and his parents thought they'd have to sell it quickly. That same neighbor is going back in and we just got an foreclosure auction notification for the property, hoping the property line doesn't become an issue :/

Property line disputes can turn in to a huge nitemare. In my case our property is 100% surrounded by National Forest. The nearest private land is several miles away. Our fence was probably put in 75 years ago, so basically it's been accepted as the property line.

Walked first, this morning.
Did laundry.
Made several business type calls about termites, DH's health claims. dental surgery. I hate making those calls. Too much like being an adult. LOL
Made some tuna salad and will hard boil a few eggs.
Will be out picking up sticks in a little while after first termite inspector comes.
Then it will rain, supposedly.

Cleaned out the pantry, mostly, except for most of the dry pack.
Repair guy came for washer. He said the drum is warped. $700+ for parts, on back order. ha. haha. I have insurance on my appliance and will get a new different washer. I still think it is the tension rods.
Dealing with rental office again. I know they want me gone so they can remodel the place and get more money. Waiting for a phone call, again.
@Wingnut hoping to get that painting done today. 🙃
@snappy1 adulting is weird now.

"Rollin' Out The Kilz!" (sung to the tune of 'Puttin' On The Ritz!') 🤣

And it's actually Kilz2, but I'm prepping for that job now... had to launder the bathroom rugs first, just to get 'em outta the way. I think the washing machine just finished its cycle, so I'll hang the rugs up outside, then sweep those bathroom floors and get on with the rolling. There might be a little brushwork round behind the toilets first, probably knock that out and toss the chip brush, then bust out the roller, lol. I'm feeling good today, already cracked my first cold beer to get in the mood for this relatively easy task... think I'll finish off that busthead cider tonight as a way of celebrating completion of the project. So happy to see this finally get done... and I have over a month to finish the kitchen, according to my self-imposed deadline of completion by my birthday. No worries! 😎

AAA changed the tire. My gosh I couldn’t imagine doing that ton the side of road. Too many compartmints to get things from and don’t forget the secret key in the key fob. My 17 year old truck so much easier--crank down the spare, jack under the back seat and go. Never want to give up that Envoy. The tow driver took the other tire back to their shop so hopefully it can be plugged/patched.

Rest of the day has been spent landscaping. Played pick up sticks with all the branches and twigs fallen over the winter. Used the strimmer in weeds until it ran out of string.

going to take the rest of the afternoon off (pacing myself lol) and play with the spinning wheel.

Been waiting for my friend to get back to me on when he can come over. Turns out he's having a really bad day and decided not to come. He's mad bc his new boss is sending him to do a 3 to 4 person job all by himself tomorrow. Also, his ex took her sweet time coming to get the toddler. He said he'd probably break something if he came over and tried to work on things with how frustrated he is. I can understand that. I'll have to go back into town and get some stuff from the store later and pop in to see him. Not going to try to pressure him to work when he's not feeling it though. They no longer pay him overtime to go to the other casino to work and it's out of his way, longer commute, etc. They need to hire someone else to work there instead but they are cheap and are short on techs.

Who knew this little size 4.5 foot could still punch it when needed.
And I was in the slow lane too.
I deserved it, so I on't grumble much when I pay it.

Went to work this morning.
It was pleasant for a change.
Went to City Hall for their part of License to sell Firework in June.
So that little job is just about done.
Should have the last of the details (on city's part) done in the next 2 weeks.
I like my items neat, orderly professionally organized, not to good n the willy-nilly world I have been dealing with in the last year. I have learned alot this last year. I have leaned I don't particularly like people who half a** stuff all the time. Then they expect you to fix it all the time.
10 weeks left of my job............
Going to empty the dehydrator of more mushrooms, start on green onions.
Making vegetable stir fry served over white rice for supper.
Why not sounded good to me.
Orange for dessert.
Tea.
Knitting away on a blanket for a change.
Looking at the class courses for something "Fun" to take, most of my classes are intense.
I'm thinking about Power Tools, I know absolutely nothing about power tools.
And I only own a few. Because I don't know how to safely use them.

Re: how to safely use power tools.

Just read the 1st 7 pages of the power tool manual. Example: you should not use a snow blower on a roof.

Yea! I have a working aircond! I still have to weather seal it from both sides and put my wood trim back on.

Dad and I built this 2 family duplex after the tornado in ‘74. He got a deal on odd sized windows for this brick house. We can’t put a standard size window air conditioner in any of them. So, when I needed ac I had to disassemble the window down to the frame and remove it. Then build panels to fill all the empty space and sandwich insulation/foam and weather stripping. Never make the cover of home & garden but it’ll work.

Anyway that was today’s project. It’s working fine, cooling just like it’s supposed to.

Today has sucked big time! I have been working on purging and repacking things to get ready for the move in the fall. I had taken a tote from my closet to take downstairs because it had hand soap in it. I noticed to amount of hand soap was less than when I brought it downstairs. Come to find out Roo took more than half the bottle of hand soap and put them in her bathroom. Her sister is a bottle emptier so I threw a fit because she could have wasted over a dozen bottles of hand soap! I only put homemade foaming soap in the kids' bath room because of Juju's bad habit. I also was wondering why my stores of deodorant was very low... Roo was taking MY deodorant and opening a new one for herself every time the top didn't look perfect like a freshly opened tube on the one she had been using. She had 4 opened that I found in her cabinet in the bathroom. I am going to make her start buying her own if this keeps up.

I also found she was taking my expensive watercolor pencils and using them in coloring books. I wanted to scream about this. I use those for work and she was wasting them to color my little ponies. Not to mention she wasn't even using them as watercolors.

I did get my nightstand decluttered and worked some more on the bathroom counter. I don't know where the stuff comes from but my bathroom seems to have the crap multiplying like wild rabbits! I had hoped to get my closet started but I have muscle aches and a massive migraine from the BS with Roo. It hurts to move and I didn't do anything to hurt this much.

We got the Nissan running and even got it tuned up and ready to run. K had to take a short day at work to go to the DMV to get the reg done but it was a non issue with an appointment for the afternoon on Friday. Now I need to get the Audi registered seeing how it is running well.

This was from yesterday
