A busy morning today packaging a sold chainsaw chain (the spare we had from our previous one), a table runner, and 50 g of thyme picked and dried from the gardens on the internet. DH washed the dishes and cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put them away.

This afternoon I listed 15 items in my eBay store and took photos of dried lavender and some Bakelite drawer pulls I salvaged from an old wardrobe.

Nothing much else done today as it was a bit of disjointed day but will start getting some other things done tomorrow.

yesterday we started inventorying what we have canned in the last few weeks as we just set it here and there. now it has a new home.all those taters ,onions, pears, and pepper sauce. i thought we had a lot of taters and onions and we do, but we decided to get more. just a feeling i have ,but we don't have enough for a couple of years and that is my goal. well on the way though. we are a close immediate family of 10. so that's a lot of food.

Was gifted a big box of apples and intend to get out the apple peeler and go at it. Fill up the dehydrator first, and then try the salt soak method to freeze the rest to turn into apple pie filling when I have time. Getting the house/laundry/everything in order today as I start 12 hour work shifts tomorrow. No end in sight till I hire a few people. Have an ad going, but no one shows up to interview when they call and schedule. I suspect people may just be gathering info to put on their unemployment paperwork. So, told husband to be ready for no cooked meals for awhile. We'll see how this flies. Need to go to the feed store and restock.

This next couple days will decide if we continue to cover and uncover garden. Sewing, your doing great with all that food growing.

Checking bottled water and preparing the bath tub for saving water. Cooked a few days of meals ahead, although we have plenty of canned food (and some water) anyway. We are right in the middle of the cone right now but we all know that changes hourly. Tomorrow we will put up the patio furniture and secure all we can outside. The dogs and goats hate this weather because, you know, they will melt! LOL

In other news, I washed the dogs today, did an exercise video on you tube, took eBay photos and a little later will open the Christmas trunk to hopefully find Christmas cards that hold a photo, so I know what size photo to order. And pull out some Fall decorations because I am impatient and too hot!

Have a good day!

I'm finished for the day. I have to make supper lol
Finished taking off the siding up to the bay window. Hubby's been securing wires that run along the edge under the house ( making it Bandit proof. he's so bad *sigh*). Have all the old siding in the pickup. It was a hot messy day.
Gonna make supper and take a shower

Tomorrow is another day. Theres a small ac through the wall in the back office that we need to remove and fill in with insulation and plywood before hubby can start the siding

@Meerkat sorry to hear your's and others gardens are being drowned with rain, just send it over here where we need it in drought. Although as we follow your weather patterns next year as we have been so dry this year I predict we will get flooding rains most likely. That is usually the way it works.

Hope the rain levels out over there so you and others can salvage their gardens.

Snappy 1....stay safe!
Meerkat...get better!
Weedy....We'll be down your way again in October. Hope to get together. Don't worry, you don't have to clean house!
Canned and canned lots of chopped tomatoes today. Got caught up on laundry and housekeeping. Made tomorrow night's dinner and husbands lunch for tomorrow. He'll have to fend for himself for breakfast. I leave at 6:15 and don't get home till 6:30 pm. Been planting lettuce starts all over the place today. Still have a large box of apples to peel.

hubby went out to move some tin with the tractor, and baby rattlesnakes went to running. then momma decided she wanted to attack the tractor. hubby said he didn't know if he got them all or not.then he brings the dead ones to front and wanted me to come look at them. he knew better because i am very afraid of them. a dead snake is the best kind as far as i'm concerned.

Been sorting fabric today.
Got rid of fabric bins that was placed in front bedroom/sewing/Strawberry room closet 5 years ago.
When I moved in.
My youngest sister and youngest 22 year old niece came and took them.
They took several containers of fabric paints, half of the fabric in the closet, quilting frames.
I might be able to breathe finally in that room.
My niece came and picked out her quilt top and her middle sister's pieced quilt tops.
Still have some work to do in that room, but it already feels so much bigger.
Yes, I kept enough fabric to finish Estelle's Christmas gift.
Also got rid of several bags of yarn too.
Maybe I will finally be able to hang curtains in there too.
Tired tonight so I'm off to bed soon.

So glad vacation is over, lol!
Went to Benton, KY, and Murray KY for Victors sandwich shoppe, and LBL for a cabin.
Sending the last family member who came home with me from LBL to work in the am.
That's it for vacation!
I'll be back to work in the am also.
Then home to clean up the mess from the week vacation!, lol.
I hope everyone had a great week and a good Labor Day!

I started off the morning with watering part of the side of the house with saved grey water from our showers and washing machine and DH then stain removed some clothing and put on a dark load of washing, hung it on the line and watered the rest of one side of the house with the saved grey water.

Then out into the front yard where we pulled a couple of spent cherry tomato plants and picked the last of the tomatoes. Then we weeded the 4 garden beds and the surrounds and threw the weeds in the bin. Whilst weeding the thyme garden bed I found more thyme runners and divided them off to make 4 more plants and planted them and watered them in.

Back inside where I received a call from the place I put in the order for the amber bottle lids and paid for them so they are now on their way. If they fit then I will go back to the op shop and purchase the rest of the 50 ml amber bottles so we can use them for vanilla extract and essential oil bottles to add to our natural remedies med kit.

Theres a hole in my wall!!!!:eyeballs::LOL:

Today, I am doing my laundry first thing. If I put it off, it gets lost in my day. Then my bunny's cage. I find that feel better to get all my household chores out of the way early in my day.....the earlier the better. I think after a night of sleeping, I have more energy and my legs are not so bad. Though I use my rolling walker pretty much all the time. And I have a blog post to finish and publish. In the middle of all that, I want to clean my refrigerator out. So off to get started. Have a good day everyone!

Labor day

Unclogged wife's bathroom sink. P-trap full of hair and grease.

Re-wire the Nest thermostat again! Worked excellently for more then a year. Then the WiFi side went poof. Now the internal battery will not stay charged. Wired a common wire (Youtube solution) and nothing. Unit is completely dead. Disconnect the common wire and unit is still dead. Plug the "head" into a USB port to recharge the battery (this has worked in the past, battery will be dead in 3 days). Head is hot to the touch (strange) and battery doesn't charge. Thermostat is toast. I'll replace it Tuesday evening with a good old fashion thermostat.

Wife was up and down most of the night so I took a morning nap.

Afternoon worked on the new ditch retaining wall. I got just over half of the first south side row level and in place. August is normally a dry month, Labor day is the first time the water in the ditch has been low enough that I could work on it! When I stand up and be dizzy for a while its time to quit. Mosquitoes helped to convince too. 3 glasses of water and a cold shower before a evening nap.

Wife had a Hen party after supper. I was waiting for the complaints about the Air Conditioning not being on...Something is up...not a single compliant. Replacing the thermostat tonight and the A/C will be back in service.
