We got nothing from the "storm". No rain (might get some tomorrow) and no wind at all. It went to the East of us. My daughter up in IL is having terrible storms tonight from that system.

I organized recipes today and pitched some. I still have so many! I could never cook them all in this lifetime! Also wrote 3 eBay drafts and made two 9X13 pans of spoonbread for a funeral tomorrow. That is where I will spend a good part of the day, probably.

This morning I started off the day with making a double batch of chocolate chip and coconut Queen Biscuits and while I was doing this DH sharpened the chains on both the chainsaws.

We then headed out to a friends property nearby and cut another 1 cubic metre of Ironbark firewood and split it while we were out there. We had lunch and took some of our choc coconut biscuits with us along with water. Back home where we had a bit of a break and then loaded the firewood under the house and we think we will have another 1 more trailer load of firewood to go and we should be ready for next winter then.

Tonight's dinner was the second half of our vegetable burgers heated up.

Not sure yet, got up at 5 am and so far done nothing. Caring for old dying dog so far. Her female friend who she taught for past 11 years now won't leave her side. She has been with her since we got her and her sister as puppies.

Need to mow grass.

I'm sorry, but I might have asked before.
But I need to ask again.
What is spoonbread?

I thought it was another word for ' drop biscuits, but far from it. I use a spoon sometimes to make biscuits.

I'm sorry Meerkat, but Burt did pass. :(
It's being reported as a heart attack.

Where did the time go... he was 82 yrs old.

Oh my gosh, 82? We were fishing one day in a Georgia lake and Burt was there fishing too. He just said hi and so did we,he smiled big knowing we would not be bothering him.
Atlanta has or had lots of stars visit back then.

A quick heart attack is the way to go if you gotta go. A family friend once said 'my chest hurts, and goen in 2 seconds.

What is spoonbread?

I don't think you asked before. It is basically a combination of cornbread and corn casserole. Served with a spoon rather than cutting pieces of it. Southern thing, I think.

There was a movie burt did with that vincent guy... I think it was called "hooper". Anyway, when I was going to welding trade school there was an old Naval Air Station next to it that was being torn down. The welding school was the closest building to the fence, about 100 ft... They filmed much of the "Hooper" movie there, blowing up buildings and huge chimney stacks of coal fired boilers etc... racing cars through it.

It was an interesting month, I saw Burt, Sally fields and the Vincent guy almost daily from a distance. They were only there about a month... none one could concentrate on lessons.

Me, didn't do jack today... going to the big town wipes me out for several days. I had a dental issue and had to go Tues and Wed... exhausted today.

Got the house somewhat cleaned up. Can never think straight when the house is trashed. Have to be in at work at 6 tomorrow, but only an 8 hour day. Glad it's Friday tomorrow! Found a cell phone granddaughter's been hiding a few weeks ago. Held on to it and have been reading her texts - seems she has another device as well. That's why she's been disappearing in her room constantly, and acting sleepy. She asked to spend the night at a friends tomorrow night and I told her no. She asked why, and I told her that she can guess why. Waiting for her to discuss this. Grandson swiped m husbands IPOD from his mancave to stay up all night playing the games on it, and also texting with it. We have a land line that the twins can call their friends on anytime, but we do not allow cell phones. She said she found out from her older sister that her mom has been rearrested for meth. She's still on probation for the last 2 1/2 yr prison stint. Wonder what'll happen to her this time. Twins seem a little annoyed I'm back on normal work hours (maybe). They've been running around like banshees.

Both of us are a bit sore from firewood cutting yesterday so we are taking it a bit easier today than usual.

Started off the day with DH watering part of the back lawns with saved grey water from the showers and washing machine and he then stain removed some clothing and hung it on the clothes line to dry. I then stain removed our garden clothing, put a load of washing on, hung it on the clothes line to dry and watered some more of the back lawns with saved grey water. DH took in his load of dry washing off the clothes line but mine got rained on (yay rain) so I will take it in tomorrow.

DH then vacuumed the house for the week and I deep cleaned the shower and toilet for the week, we made the bed with clean sheets and we folded up two loads of clean laundry and put it away. Soon we will between us wash the dishes, clean the benches, wipe the dishes and put them away.

That will be us for the day and likely will be eggs on toast for dinner for something a bit easier since neither of us feel like cooking a huge meal.

I have almost an addiction to electronic devices and right now even though I don't give a cr%@, I am aware it's an issue. I think a lot of people have this problem, but don't realize it.
I so wish we lived further out, a little land. It was easier to find stuff to do that wasn't internet, online games, tv.

So I have off today and I think I'll take a break from stuff. Torture myself by shopping for clothing since my weight loss made my pants too loose. I just hate shopping of most kinds.
@Amish Heart it is hard to be loving and firm, but I hope the best for those kids and your peace.

Front of the house is finished so today I did some laundry, fed hubby and me, baked some peanut butter cookies, pushed mowed around the raised beds and the house ( the rest can be mowed with the zero-turn)watching a baseball game on tv and now just hanging out.
This morning while drinking my coffee I ordered a faux leather jacket for only $40. It was $169 and was on clearance. Love deals like that lol
Tomorrow we'll go out for breakfast and do some shopping. Hubby needs some new white t-shirts and he wants another cantaloupe. I want to look for another portable radio. Ours won't work even with new batteries for some reason and I need to get some more ink for our printer

Physical Therapy-done
Strawberry been out several times-done
Going work on hamper from sewing room closet today, at least one container this afternoon.
Maybe more, but 1 for sure.
Then going sketch out sewing room to make it flow better for me.
This way only have to move furniture once or twice instead a half dozen times.
Dust, vacuum, hang curtains room basically done. Wahoo!
Finish folding bed linens, put them away.
Had lunch, cleaned up that mess.
Inspection went well this morning done before 930 am.
If I finally get tired enough might try to take nap.
Been up since 0330 hours this morning.
Amish Heart, the twins know you love them, and want what's best for them.
They're just being teens.
Patchouli, understand that too.
Boredom is my enemy too.
Hence why I clean all the time.

:huggs:I know how you feel my daughter is raising two of her grands and sending money to her daughter in prison too. The boys [ 6 and 10 this month, September ] at times act out about it.

Cooked , washed two dogs and took care of sick dog, vacuumed and cleaned. Talked to daughters for hours this morning. The family circus ac continues,:lil guy:but all is well .

Woke up this morning and thought about a saying a preacher use to say.
" Another day the Lord has made ,rejoice and be glad in it". Or something like that. It did make the morning better.

Hope all are ok here.
