Hoorah! It's Friday!
Ready to go put some pizza dough together and some toppings. Both of the twins were invited to friends tomorrow and told them each no. When they asked why, I told them that they knew why. I would like them to fess up and talk about the electronics (one stole from my husband, the other got from a friend). Until they are ready to talk, I guess I'll be saying no a lot. I'm just getting a sigh, long stare, and a walk away.
Husband and I went to Tractor Supply and bought 6 baby ducks. They are listed as assorted ducks, with no knowledge of what kind. The store guy said he thinks the yellow ones are the Aflac ducks. The other look like Khaki Campbells. We'll see. While there, I signed up for a free table at their Farmers Market that is happening at all Tractor Supplies on 9/22. The flyer says you can sell food, home canned, baked, arts and crafts, that sort of thing. Son said he'd like to help, and of course the twins will, too. Granddaughter is picking apples with American Heritage Girls early tomorrow morning for a "Seed to Need" event. Maybe a little charitable work will help her mood. If not, I have plenty of weeds to pull.

Went to the local county fair yesterday. It was surprisingly a very nice fair. Entrance and all events were free. Many choices for food at very reasonable prices. We went to watch the rodeo, which our neighbor won (he is the roping king of the county). It was fun and we didn't get home until midnight.

Harvesting grape leaves this morning. The chickens, ducks, and turkeys like them. Grapes are all finished, so it's free animal food. Picked a bucket of tomatoes. Sliced and in the dehydrator. Picked a bunch of zucchini. That's being grated and going in the dehydrator. The full time staff person I had who left last week for another school (that's why I was on 12 hr shifts) texted and wants to come back. Her new job was not good. Happy to have her back. Went to Hobby Lobby and spent some money for farmhouse stuff. Haven't looked around there in a very long time.

Spent the afternoon with a cousin.
We went to several yard sales.
I spent total of 50 cent in 4 hours.
Got my secret Santa gift for this year.
She got clothes she needed, few items for Christmas gifts.
Came home took a nap, had supper, watching tv.
Sketched out a couple designs for potential quilt blocks.
Laundry tomorrow, work some more in sewing room.
Don't have Estelle again until Thursday.
We're going to story hour for the first time.
She loves books, she also likes when I read to her.
Had Estelle pretty much several hours this last week every day.
Had out of town company this last week.
Just resting today.
Reading all the forums .

@Amish Heart funny how things work out. I hope your re-hire stays with you so you can get your hours back down.

I'm purging things that my extended family thought I should be the keeper of.
If it is so important then why didn't they hang on to this stuff? I am the family historian; that doesn't mean I have to be the family sentimentalist.
Everybody thought these things might be worth a little something someday. None of these items are in perfect condition but if they were, might be worth $5 to $15 per item. Considering how long I have had these items in my possession, I am not up for dabbling in the resale and waiting 6 months for the sale.
But I am really proud of myself for cutting the emotion out of it.
I keep thinking of how things went after my mom passed away and what a hassle/drain it was to try to get through all of her belongings with siblings.

It's been raining since I got up at 7 this morning. Church festival outside stuff got rained out, so we didn't get to take the horses for the kids to ride (Not our horses, my wife volunteers on the board for a horse therapy charity). Watched some netflix shows, then dinner and some xbox gaming with friends. Supposed to rain tomorrow also, so Church, then brunch, laundry, naps, reading :)

Yesterday I took the washing off the clothes line and DH washed the dishes, cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put them away. I then made out the envelopes for some dried thyme we sold on the internet picked and dried from the gardens and a handmade A4 notebook cover.

In the afternoon we decided to use the last of our $240 for $200 voucher for our 3 monthly grocery shop and purchased $259.70 worth of groceries for $200 taking advantage of the specials and the $40 of free groceries with the e-voucher.

Today we went to church this morning and had our Sandwich Sunday and stayed a bit longer talking to friends. We got home and pretty much not done a lot as it is a day of rest for us but we may put the 8 kg of flour into our now empty 10 lt storage container and put it in the food storage room.

Tonight's dinner was the other half of our homemade bacon and garden vegetable quiche.

Nice cool morning here 61*, no rain as of yet.
Sat outside with Strawberry, while she took care part of her business.
Then she did her patrol of the sidewalk, growled and barked at new toadstool that popped up overnight.
She tried to crawl under the Azeala bush but have that blocked off, so she can't.
She wanted and tried to dig in green beans, for that she got thumped with cane.
Not hard enough to hurt her, just hard enough to get her attention.
Thought about laundry for all of two minutes, nope not today.
Maybe Tuesday, for some reason the insoles are out of my gardening shoes and they are in Strawberry's room(kennel).
Good thing I have several pair, those look little worse for wear now.
Need to clean out refrig, take out trash.
Nice cool day, might read a book, clean in sewing room, throw something together in crockpot for supper.

Another rainy day here. Nice and cool too. Have laundry going. I'm thawing some ground beef, ground sausage and ground turkey to make a meatloaf for supper. I thought about making a shepherd's pie but decided on the meatloaf. It'll last longer and I can freeze some slices for another time later ( or even use it in a chili or shepherd's pie lol)
Have a small cantaloupe to cut up. Bought it so I can wait a day or two before I go buy a larger one at the farm market. I have no idea what hubby will do when they're all gone. He'll just have deal with eating peaches or apples, although he does like pineapple. Might be able to slice him up some of those later. I will eat canned fruit just as easy as I would fresh. It makes no difference to me but he's picky ( its his mother's fault)

Might watch a replay of some college football later. Our Mountaineers won their game yesterday

Getting chores done. Cleaned out 5 brooder tubs. I have a very bad splayed leg turkey baby who is not going to make it. Need to do some work at the school, and work on some of mom's medical paperwork. Am planning on having talks (individually) with grandkids. Still holding out on a cellphone and Ipod. Have zucchini to shred for the dehydrator and 6 each 5 gallon water containers to fill up at the water place.

Getting pi**ed off at my chainsaw, after replacing all the fuel lines, fuel and air filters, primer bulb, spark plug and carburetor,it still won't stay running and it doesn't even have 10 hours on it. Last Poulan Pro chainsaw I'll ever buy,the piece of s**t.

But at least football season starts today :ghostly:

@Amish Heart , I wonder if chickens will eat wild muscadine grape leaves ?

Went to grocery store, walked old dog, and did exercise. So far a good day.

I am not good at all with gas motors that have a pull cord. I have many incidents where I just could not get them started. I would prefer gas, it is would work for me. I have an electrical chainsaw and an electrical lawnmower. No more frustration pulling and pulling the darned pull cord.

Did you try calling the phone early on when it went missing? In a few incidents where people's phones went missing, a call by someone else while the owner was close has been a solution. By now it probably has a dead battery. I still remember incidents from when I was a child where my mom lined up the four of us and let us know about taking things that did not belong to us.

She has the phone. She wants the GD to admit that she had a phone she wasn't supposed to have.

There were 2 phones they got from people at school. Used our Wifi. We've since changed the password at home. The IPOD was stolen from husband. Got the last phone today. They got a lecture about rule breaking and are grounded. And a lecture about you cant break rules just because you want something, They have no impulse control. They have always been able to use the land line to call friends

Meerkat..bet they would eat those leaves.
Terri..I have "Homecoming" on my night table waiting. Book 10.

Book 10? I thought we were only up to 8. I lost track. I just read which ever just came out.

Oops, your right. Its book 10.

My mower is electric start, course it's a rider too ;)

have to go to town today and check on parents and go by our other place and pick up more jars so we can finish the rest of taters and onions. between us and our friend we saved about 3/4 of their onion and tater crop, so we are not going hungry. the rest is going to the animals. needless to say i don't think we will plant very much of either crop next spring. just enough for some fresh.

Wife had a nephew with the same attitude.

We hosted a family get together at our house. Nephew marched in like he owned the place (he does at home). He picked up my phone and started dialing. I asked him, "What he was doing?"

"Calling a friend" was his answer. I took the receiver from him and hung in back up. Told him that he didn't ask my permission to use my phone. He turned bright red with anger, "Grandpa lets me use his phone whenever I want!"

"I'm not your Grandpa and this isn't your Grandpa's house. You need to ask my permission first."

Well we wasn't going to ask permission so he stomped into the living room and turned on the TV. I was right behind him and turned the TV back off. "I want to watch cartoons!"

"You didn't ask permission to watch my TV"

"Grandpa lets..." Light bulb went off in his head. Bright kid, figured out any more excuses on his end was a waste of time.

Wife's Nephew went and found his mother. Told her that he wasn't feeling good and she needed to take him home. She did.

For some reason he never did visit too often after this. ;)

He grew into adulthood. Getting fired from one job after another. Ended up on disability from obesity, had a son (John) and then died when he was in his thirties.

John and I had a few run ins to0. But he learned and we got along fine. Last I heard John was on the west coast waiting on his bond hearing.

Spoiling a child is nto love for the child it is self love for yourself. Teaching a child that the world doesn't revolve around them is loving the child.IMO.
We had it rough at times so I was strict and they had chores and manners. Now all good productive people. But just learning to use discipline on their grandkids. it is sad because they are having to raise a couple of them and help raise several others.
