Putzed around home today with husband, and am finally starting to not feel achy. Hopefully I'll be 100 % tomorrow. The chimney sweep came by today for the stove's annual cleaning. We are good to go. He said that the way the ash looked, the color of it in particular, that I'm starting good fires...good wood and not making it too hot. So, that was good. Last winter I was the fire person for the first time. Husband can't handle it anymore, and grandson was useless when he was here. So I take my fire job seriously...and my wood...and my kindling. Ha. It's time to teach little granddaughter this winter. I think she'd enjoy it.

Today we got the chimney cleaned on the fur shed. Climbed up on the roof to add a brace to the stove pipe. The wind is blowing pretty hard and the temp is dropping some, feels like a storm is moving in. Did a lot of little jobs around the house too. Started cutting in a new road to access an area that I want to fence off and make a new hay field. Need to get a culvert to cross a seasonal creek.
Yesterday we stopped and looked at some new tractors. The wife wants a small tractor for working in the garden. We'll get a backhoe attachment and a rototiller for it.

I'm the "fire person" at my house, and we clean our own chimney! Of course that involves getting on the roof!☹️ But I am REALLY into making great fires!! Definitely teach your granddaughter!!

Yep..we eat all kinds of meats. I just told him I've got a bunch of chicken livers in the freezer from my last few butcherings. He likes liver sandwiches (blech), and I know I have a couple of calf livers, too. We eat steak about once a week, and hamburger maybe twice. The rest of the week is usually chicken or turkey. Most all our meat is local stuff. Sometimes fish, but I don't like fish at all, so I don't cook it often. Wondering if his low iron is something to do with one of the meds he takes, just wouldn't know which one. He takes alot.

That could be. Good luck to you both.

Rusty.....how did it make you sick?
Husband is scheduled for an iron infusion on Friday, said it'd take 2 hrs. His iron is really low, but I'm not sure why.
I think the B12 made me sick. I have had numerous infusions and they never had before. The covid vaccine destroyed my ability to produce enough red blood cells.

I've found a relatively comfortable way to sleep almost sitting up with my head up (can't sleep with head down or I can't stop coughing) and dozed off for awhile. Itsy woke me up-- she sometimes does that when Mom needs something-- so I got up and went to the bathroom. Went to see if Mom needed anything and she told me she paged me on the phone. I told her I was in the bathroom. She then said she'd paged about 20min earlier but either she was wrong about that or I slept through it. Alarm for evening meds went off for a good 4min before I was able to get myself to move. I need to eat something but have no appetite. Not nauseous or anything, just don't feel hungry. But I know I need to eat something.

going to the doctor with mom & brother tomorrow morning.

This weekend went well, but busy. I was able to mow up all my downed leaves, Then ran the mower dry, added some non-ethanol gas with sta-bil and a little 2 stroke oil, ran that for a bit. Now the mower is ready for the shed. Pulled out the snow blower, got it started with fresh non-ethanol gasoline, will add some pump gas when I use it.

I cleaned out some over grown flower beds and bagged that all up.

Work has been crazy, this week I had meetings in Europe and had pre-meetings to get ready for it. I have been trying to get the team to understand what we need to do to conduct our work this year. We have a new budget analyst and they are mico-managing things, which makes everything take twice a long to execute. I am afraid it may lead to stop work orders showing up just in time for Christmas... :(

Speaking of Christmas, I hope to start pulling out the old seasonal lights and decorations this weekend.

The wife is planning for a holiday feast for next weekend, but we have several doctors appointments tomorrow and early next week.

We have been lowering the thermostat (the wife likes it cool) and I hung shower curtains at the bottom of the stairs to the basement. The result has been that the basement has been staying warmer (I live down here so I like that) and the main floor is staying cooler (~65F, and the wife likes that!). I picked up a battery powered vest and I really like it, kind of like wearing an electric blanket, it lets me feel comfortable in <40F without a lot of heavy gear, which is nice.

The transition to LEDs in the basement has gone well, they provide more light and use about half as much electricity, the only draw back that I can see it that if I watch TV I can see the reflection of them on the screen, would like to figure out some sort of shield to block that....

Just had a huge clean up, scrubbed the front porch, cleaned bathrooms and poured all those almost empty bottles of shampoo into one because the recycling gets collected tonight. I usually buy refills but the girls are working their way through what seems like the contents of Walmart they got for Christmas last year. Have all the washing done and hens got fresh bedding, picked some under ripe strawberries - they just haven't stopped this year- and some chard and watered the potatoes in the polytunnel.
To be honest, I thought it was friday 🤣 🤦‍♀️

A tiny mouse scooted from under the freezer to the washing machine in the garage, so one of the cats gets to sleep inside tonight. Saw online we may be getting snow the week of the 24th- bit early. Not sure if its better or worse than all the rain we've had.

Taking the two girls to school this morning, and stopping to check our PO box, and filling up at our unmanned gas pump down the road. Animal chores right away...taking husband into the bigger town to start PT on his shoulders. Both rotator cuffs are finished now because of the long term steriods he's taken, so exercise does help I guess. While he's there, I'm going to the feed store to load up.

I'm so tired from the shopping yesterday! A good part of it is my friend (or how I react to her). She has the beginnings of some type of memory disease. Repeats herself a lot and repeats the same thing every time we pass certain places. Her daughter is on vacation this week and doesn't live near her. After Thanksgiving, I will call and chat with her about it. Beforehand, I will ask my friend if she has had a memory test. Then daughter.

Handyman is coming to paint kitchen/ dining room today.
Then I will walk.
Walk dogs.
DH has therapy as they never showed up, yesterday.
Have a few odd chores today.
Bible study tonight.

I think the B12 made me sick. I have had numerous infusions and they never had before. The covid vaccine destroyed my ability to produce enough red blood cells.
So sorry
I now know 3 people that got messed up by covid vaccine
( none that died from covid personally)

I was a vegetarian for 2 years twice ( meat groced me out while pregnant and after for a while) and my B vitamine and iron got super low, despite supplements, didn't work for me. It went away as soon as I started eating meat again

Today not much planned, animals were out overnight, so not much to clean
Done with the shopping finally, husband went to pick up grain and fuel yesterday

Have to do major cleaning for daughter and famility to visit next week, but don't want to do it too early ( Navy might cancel their leave, they have done it before, plus the house will just get dirty again)

My grandpa told me... he was little, 6/7, prior to 1910. Traveling doctor said he was anemic. Had his mom put horse shoe nails in a pint jar with water. Every morning he drank rust. He didn't remember if it helped, just that he didn't like it. 😁
When I was a kid we got this nasty stuff called "Lebertran" , it was made out of liver and tasted like the most horrible thing ever. We got a spoonfull in winter at least once a week

ok looked it up : cod liver oil yuuuuuck

Major fog this morning! Another big cleaning job today, tis the season!! Going by to work with my Aussie again, the owners are having a really hard time with her. Hope they decide to get serious with her! I wish people wouldn't get dogs based on "I like the color", or "that's a nice size"!! A little homework goes a long way!! Not sure what I'll get into this afternoon!?!

I’ve made a decision in that I’m going to change the way I do things. My entire life I’ve worked with junk. I would get a broke down lawnmower or tractor whatever I could buy cheap and fix it and work on it from now on to keep it running. I’ve grown tired of working on junk and that’s the same thinking I’ve taught my son. If it doesn’t run now I’ll go get a new one. I wanted to wash the tractor and side by side this morning and the pressure washer would spray. It didn’t have enough pressure to spray dust off of a tractor. Rather than mess with it half a day I went and got one that would spray this morning while I was there I got a new roll around battery charger. I’m so over working on junk!
