I have my tree up undecorated, but it's still Fall on my porch. Maybe this weekend.

My little Peanut Butter (profile photo) took a turn for the worse, yesterday. She has had congestive heart failure, but shown very little signs of it for the past several months. Now her breathing is very labored even at rest. DH wants to wait until Monday to make a decision. I've started giving her a little bit of dandelion root powder and fish oil. She is till getting her mullein and milk thistle for her liver issues which have disappeared. I also opened a can of salmon and rinsed it well to tempt her to eat this morning. It may be too little too late. Not sure what else to do. I know she isn't mine to keep forever and God has left her with me an extra 5 months after the liver diagnosis. I'm thankful for that!

I did walk this morning.
Took my friend to local stores.
Paid bills.
Called an made appt. with home insurance company to come take photos and up the coverage for home.
Still need to write a letter to friend in military.
I'm so sorry to hear about Peanut, that is the hardest decision even when you know what's right!! Love and hugs!!

Got a couple things done today: made a batch of pine pitch soap for Hubby, roasted a pumpkin, canned some more kidney beans and got the ironing done. Began cleaning but not finished. Tomorrow is another day. We had snow this morning then it warmed up above freezing for the first time in a week anyways.

I'm very happy it will be in the mid 40's overnight. No heat. At lunchtime, the apartment was a little cool. Called the oil company (we have an oil furnace for the building) and they came out to look at it. Furnace is fine--it did what it was supposed to do. Something wrong it shuts itself off. Well the thing that was wrong was about 3" of water in the 1000 gallon oil tank (yup, in the ground). Tomorrow morning a different company will be coming out to pump out the water, the oil company will come out to restart the furnace. Tuesday we'll be meeting with the oil company about the tank. We're probably looking at it coming out of the ground and a new one or ones being installed in the basement. Thank God we have tank insurance on that thing. Eighty years old so I really can't complain.

So I got out the electric space heater and put a pot on the stove to simmer. Stove is electric so it's basically a radiator.

Bright side.....the tank would have to come out of the ground before the building would be able to be sold. So we're thinking of it as an investment in the future.

New strings on my guitar so it's been a very nice evening! 😊 Misty rain all day, only 2/10ths. My new weather station had the temp at 57 with 89% humidity. I felt like a fish when i went to feed the chickens. It got foggy after lunch. Dozed off for a while. Just music and tv tonight.

That would send me to the hospital real fast ( or dead) , allergic to Tylenol which has the same ingredient
It has a toxemia level. I'm almost there, unfortunately, so I'm transitioning to aspirin for now. On the bright side, I think I've lost weight after a diet of soup for a week.

Hey Pearl, you need to ask for a crocheted toilet paper cover, too. With a doll head. That would be cute.
Neighbors came over with their 3 little ones, one of them I drive to amish school each day. They visited, caught up, and brought 10 lbs of hamburger and a peach pie.
Oh boy, LadyLocust is going to LOVE that idea!

Sad news this morning. Little Peanut Butter passed away at 4:30 this morning. She was one happy and loved little dog! I've had dogs all my life and she has been my favorite since I first saw her! I will have a friend come over a bit later and dig a hole for her. She will be missed so much!

I will go find my friend, first and stop at a yard sale at the local Catholic Church.
A little later I will walk, weather permitting. We have gotten 2" of rain since last night.
I still haven't written to my friend in the Military.
Might decorate a little today, but not feeling it right now.

So sorry about Peanut Butter, that is always hard.
I went back to bed for a while after husband's early morning infusion, so I feel better. Six hours of sleep wears on me after a few days.
Looks like we have heavy fog and a very light dusting of snow out. It's in the low 20's out. Planning on going into the bigger town after lunch and taking little granddaughter dress shopping for her Christmas concert next week at school. We'll go to Walmart and to Hobby Lobby for some ribbon crafts stuff she's working on.

Not sure what I'm going to do today. I really need to cut and split some firewood and weld the cracks on the back blade and snow plow. First thing I think I'll do is put the chains on the tractor. It's quite a struggle by myself. We're still getting snow so I guess the chains are the most important. Still not feeling well so I'll try to take it easy.
Today is the wife's birthday. She wants me to grill a filet mignon and shrimp for dinner.

Not doing much today but this evening I will see former Congressman Steve King at our annual Christmas Potluck for the Iowa Great Lakes Patriots. I already have his signed book, Walking Through The Fire but he will bring a few copies to sell. It's always a good time and meal and I always look forward to chatting with Steve.

I spent this morning chasing down things for the wife, she is planning a "special" dish that needs ingredients that no one close carries...

As I was driving home I was thinking about my Christmas decorations (the flag pole tree specifically), I was thinking that I would like to move it out away from the house, make it free standing and temporary (no in-ground base). Anyway, I think I came up with a design that would work (Think Tim the TOOL MAN work).... I could design a special arrangement for the pole and colored light and make it a full circle. Based on the 33' colored led (24) strings I saw, the dimensions would be 33' of colored lights going to the base of a 2' extension supporting a 3' star total height would be ~ 38', about 3,600 Leds total. The wife doesn't like the idea :)

The wife doesn't like most of my ideas either.

Wild drive to work yesterday, 1 rig one truck and 2 cars slid off the road comming down as I was heading up.
Very slick conditions..
I was running a tad late and when I got in the mill my other two coworkers yelled out a big "Hay!! " they were caught up and chatting waiting for me, feeling chipper.
There was a construction crew in our work area rebuilding a big door and they joined in the "Hayin n hooting but didnt know what they were hooting about at first and so I had about 6 guys hooting n haying ..everyone had a good laugh after.
Except for a cow in the highway that had to be rescued , the drive home last night was not terrible for as much as it snowed.
Today I'm going to the craft fair. My friends are already there so I can walk the dogs real fast. It's still snowing and were supposed to get 3 to 5 inches on top of the 4 to 6 we got already.
I'm needing more coffee..I'm running short on sleep. Itd be a nice day to just stay home but hopefully I can sell a few rugs n make it worth it.
