Haertig, yeah, that's why we got her to take insulin. Fortunately, she's lucid, in a good mood, and has a sense of humor.

Woke up to my nose whistling from one of the nostrils. Went to check on her and asked to check her sugar. No arguments. I asked her to pick a finger for the lancet. She extended a middle finger and wiped it down with alcohol. She then says "Did you notice which finger I always have you prick?" Always a middle finger. LOL. Sugar down to 139.

She's fine with me calling the doctor in the morning and with a diet change so she can cut down on carbs and we can both eat healthier.

I'm about to go back to sleep again. Kitties are in here with me wanting snuggles. It's 30° outside.

I like Risk but it does take a long time. We have another war game board game that takes even longer : Axis and Allies ( ww2 game, LOL, I always play Axis)
I loved Axis and Allies in college we would set up the board and play starting right after finals were over... sometimes we would play for the whole weekend with different variations to make things interesting....

Last night is finally snowed, not a lot just a dusting, but it's something.
Today is a regular work day.
Tomorrow is the start of 2 days working on EU time (-6 hrs), tomorrows meeting isn't bad, starts at mid-day their time: but the Wednesday meeting starts at 08:00 (2:00 my time) but my day will end early enough....

we used to play wargames (look up Historicon) , but stopped after we moved here and my best friend ( who was one of the people running those things) died and I just didn't want to do it anymore :(

Well, we got the snow and it is very cold and windy out. Animals will probably stay in
meaning more cleaning of barn , no point putting them in the pasture, any grass left is covered up

I had a massive headache yesterday ( the type of weather we had does that to me) , hopefully it is gone today

Son got it at some ungodly time, and I can see from a shut door which spare room he's in. Getting ready to take the girls to their schools in a bit, make husband breakfast, and start animal chores. He has an appt before lunch in the bigger town to get his midline taken out, and maybe I can talk son into driving him in for that. That would give me some time to get lunch out and things cleaned up after chores. Packing today, leaving tomorrow for the Denver hospital (I think).

to get his midline taken out
Did the new infusion meds work well? Breathing is better? I hope so!

Up early to cook for Church fellowship, yesterday. Went to Church and had dinner. Took a plate to a friend and came home. Brought DH food, also.

Today, I will walk in a bit- about 32 right now, so I'm waiting an hour or so.
Laundry next.
Walk dogs.
No other big chores, just a lot of little misc. stuff.

wow you have to drive him to another State to go to the hospital? Thats a long way
How many kids do you have ? Just curious
( I have only 2)

I'm going to Sam's Club and Costco. Anyone need anything?

Chocolate protein powder and peace on earth, please! Let me know how much I owe you. :D

Already got up, made breakfast, two loads laundry, hit the gym. Still to do: groceries, a quick run to Joanns for tins for fudge (I’m running low and the paper boxes I got were too flimsy to use), two more loads laundry (edit: three more loads laundry), and start wrapping gifts that are going to get mailed, so I can send them tomorrow.

Oh yeah, and cook lunch and dinner.

Took the bookcases up to the country house, Lori got them mostly assembled. I installed the blink doorbell, got it set up, and installed 2 new shower heads, set up the keypad for the garage door opener, then hung the Christmas wreath on the front door.

Lori may not speak to me anymore, she tried many times to set up the keypad, but she gets hung on the exact words in the directions, and not the bigger "intent". Our opener didn't match the directions, so it drove her nuts. I had the advantage, I had done it once already setting up the "Homelink" button in the Subaru :)

I'm struggling a little today. Didn't get to sleep until 10:30 and was back up at 04:15 for work. Got to the depot at 06:30 and no one was there. The guys didn't start coming in until 10 minutes to 7. I'm feeling worn down and brain foggy today. I can only hope it's an easy day...
Is this the job close to your home? If so (hope so) you can sleep in your own bed at night.

S. my sheep used to live outside in all weather. They paw through snow (or just face plow) and munch on grass. I brought them up in a corral in the evening and turned them out during the day, but that was for protection against predators (yotes). I think you have a lot more rain and moisture in general in your area, but am just curious as to keeping them in. I think mine would have stood up on their hind legs and attacked me if I didn't let them out in the morning. 😂

A pallet of TP please - oh wait, that's not in fashion this year. Let me check my Vogue magazine - um, looks like I'll need that TP 😂

I took the old truck to town and got it licensed. It hadn’t been on the road in a year. It has spent its entire life on a construction site and it was dirty and pretty rough looking. I’ve been working on it for a couple of weeks and it’s really cleaning up nice. After getting it licensed I brought it home and buffed it hard. Paint is looking good interior looks decent. I called a detailer and got an appointment for the interior. The kid is driving it everyday after school and is doing a great job with it much better than when is was driving the jeep.

Hey Snappy...don't know that this med worked that much, breathing is still bad. Am charging his portable O2 to bring in the truck right now. Going to a high elevation is going to be a bear. Two days of driving and two days of docs. We'll see what goes. We go there because it's a pulmonary specialty place (National Jewish Health) and is the best in the US. He lived there for a couple of years as a teen.
Sonya....we have 5 kids (3 girls, 2 boys) and 8 grands. The middle child is here at the moment. He comes often and it's great to see him. The only one I trust with the animals. And butchering. And gardening. He's alot better than I am.
Favorite cousin checked in, and she's hanging in there. Feeling bad for her. I'll keep talking to her and then visit when we get home. Not packed yet.

the neighbors sheep are out all the time also
Our sheep are spoiled LOL, a little rain or snow they don't care, but if it starts pouring or being really windy they stand at the gate and look sad, and want to go into the barn
They do want out in the morning and yes, I better get out of the way

The goats are really funny you have to literally drag some of them out, even in nice weather, they would just like to hang out at the barn all day and they really really hate getting wet

@LadyLocust This job is local, with a regular Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm schedule. It does involve being on call almost 24-7 for anything that would disrupt the trains like broken rails, derailments, or frozen switches. It's also 54 mile each way to work every day. But I do get to be home every night. I try to be asleep by 9 and get up at 4:30 am to leave by 5:30.

I lied. Six loads of laundry and now I’m debating if it’s worth trying to mend some flannel sheets. I don’t think I have anything that weight lying around, and the elastic’s dead anyway.

Didn’t get any wrapping done but I did get everything else done. Tomorrow’s gonna be busy.

We don't know if we can believe anything you say now🤣🤣🤣♥️

Wrap gifts in cut up flannel sheets or make quilt

Got Mom squeezed in for an afternoon appointment with the doctor. Her sugar was over 300 at the office and 420 when she got home. She took insulin immediately at home. Took her to Walmart after the appointment to see if any RXs were ready (they weren't) and let her pick out food or whatever stuff she wanted. She picked out a few things. Had to use the wheelchair to get her into the doctor's office but snagged a riding cart at Walmart. A nice man found one for me when he saw me looking for riding carts. His wife was in the vehicle-- still parked in a handicap spot and I heard her say "Tell her we're about to leave and she can have this spot!" That was sweet of them.

Doctor said it will take weeks for her sugars to get back in balance and that she should take that insulin 2x a day and if it gets super high to take some in between but that if it is closer to normal to only take half a dose. It lasts 12 to 24 hours. Does rapid and time release. He told her to discontinue all oral diabetes meds. Put in RX for the Dexcom G7 and said he may prescribe a paired insulin pump if need be. He scheduled her for an appointment with the diabetes expert on the 20th. She apparently knows how to help people get insurance to cover stuff if it refuses to cover. I also ordered refill on Mom's insulin bc I realized she was down to 1 bottle left in the fridge. Normally the place charges $60 but this time they said Zero $.

Picked up mail-- lots of packages. Got home after dark (still before 6pm).

Twice today I had to physically pick Mom up off the toilet because she was having trouble-- need to add something for her to really grab onto to get up that won't interfere with wiping or using the bidet. Maybe even add a grab bar on the wall. My back really hates me. At least my brother has been good about helping me manage her insulin/testing/sugar etc. Her sugar got too low-- down to 64-- and her mind got fuzzy. She needs to drink more bc its hard to get blood from her fingers. I found using alcohol swabs on her fingers seems to help with not getting error codes. I just had her eat something and drink apple juice to try to get her sugar back up to normal range.

Tomorrow is her urology appointment so I'm hoping she'll be feeling better. Might need my brother to help me with the wheel chair to get her out the door and to the truck. Still trying to get her to move around more though. My sister plans to call in the morning.

going to check Mom's sugar again in a bit. If its in safe range I can get some sleep.
