just spent 2 hours rotating the animals around and cleaning the barn, the sheep went out for a little while since it didn't rain much, now pouring again
Now I am going to cook, Indian , will take a while.
Rest of the day pretty much open, except feed the animals more hay and refill water buckets later
Son is still studying for his last final so we probably can't play a game , which is what we do a lot on days there is not much else to do because it's raining. Most of our games require 3 people. I guess I could play Go with husband if he feels like it. Or some other 2 player thing
Any of you like to play games?

I play chess on line. Currently I've got 21 different games going with various people.
I admire your brain for being able to keep up with that. There's no way I could do that.

I like games but rarely play them - because I have nobody to play them with. So I have lost any skills I may have once had. Making me resistant to go over to the rec center/senior center in town where they probably play games that I'd enjoy. e.g., I used to be good at Bridge. I was in the Bridge Club in college and went to tournaments. I didn't like the tournaments so much, because they were so highly competitive, and I like playing for fun. You couldn't even clear your throat or cough at a tournament without someone giving you the stink eye. Nowadays, I'd be hard pressed to remember how to count the points in my hand. So I would be the unwanted beginner again if I headed over to the rec center. So sad.

I have the games set to various days. Some games require a move every day, out to one per 7 days. I enjoy playing different people since styles are so different. Makes ya think

Been taking care of Mom. Had to go to the store twice for stuff for her. Brother gave me trouble at first about helping out but when he woke up more he was able to check her blood sugar and get her to take insulin. Checked and it said Hi. 15min later still HI. 3 hrs later HI so she took insulin. She's taken insulin 2x now and I just checked. Either the sensors/meter are wrong or its still high. However, I've noticed an improvement in her cognition. She's lucid and was able to walk to and from her room. She did lose control of her bladder while getting out of her chair bc she put off going for too long and really had to pee. But she had a diaper on. I helped her change it. She seemed much better when she went to take a nap. I'll nap and then check again. worst case, I'll get my friend to come help me get her to the hospital or urgent care.

We used to do a lot of complicated tabletop games — Settlers of Cataan, Lords of Waterdeep, Puerto Rico, Race for the Galaxy, those kinds of things. These days it’s mostly D&D with a side of video games.

I love playing Cataan, one of my favorite games. We have the expansion set with the fish
We just got done playing Spades , husband won
My other favorite games besides Cataan and cards are something called Talisman , and RA . We also have a Lord of the Rings Risk game but that one takes several days to complete

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/12/raTalisman: Revised 4th Edition we have an earlier edition this looks a little different

I’ve been working on my old truck so Jake can drive it. I knew I had kept it around for some reason. It has had a rattle in the front end for several years. When I put the new tires on it I figured it out. The drivers wheel bearing was gone! So we got that all fixed and I ordered a new drivers side lower seat cushion and a new matching seat cover. I had no idea until I started looking around that you could order and replace seat covers or change your cloth interior to leather by ordering covers. It was quick and easy to replace and it really helped the look of the old truck interior. We also installed a new tailgate latch today.

I love to play Risk, but wife don't like it. We do play some card games and back gammon sometimes
I like Risk but it does take a long time. We have another war game board game that takes even longer : Axis and Allies ( ww2 game, LOL, I always play Axis)

Yesterday and today I have been working on the Avalanche to get it ready for my son. I have been waiting for him to visit to help but he is too busy with sports at school. Oh well. Pulled apart every electrical plug I could reach to spray electrical contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease to everything. Started to install the new stereo and found an unknown wire in the dash and traced it, causing me to pull more of the dash apart and discovering the tons of wiring from the auto start alarm system I had installed a long time ago. Soooo, I am now pulling off tons of electrical tape and undoing wiring and taping back up the stock wires. I also discovered the broken wires from the Tow/Haul button on the shift handle so I spliced in new wiring to hook that back up again, sometimes the broken wires would touch metal and short out turning on the Tow/Haul mode so I think I fixed that.

I also ordered a variety of parts to fix some other things, including a new cushion for the drivers seat.

I am not working hard, taking my time, and casually watching old DVD movies to give me some background noise and something to listen to.

On a side not the Detroit Lions lost to the lowly Chicago Bears, I suspect the Ford Family owners were on the sidelines pulling strings to make yet another good season tank so they wont have to deal with those pesky playoff games. I can't wait for the team to fire the owners. Pathetic teams since 1963 when William Clay Ford bought the team, and only 1 playoff win in 60 years. I know they are a decent team and capable of good stuff but I have no faith in the owners. Ugh!!!

Checked Mom's sugar again and finally got a number reading: 489.Still way too high. She's lucid, was able to walk to and from her bathroom without help, and took insulin. She's insulin resistant and they told her to stop taking her Metformin so I don't know if that is having much of an impact. At least she's not confused like she was earlier.

I'm about to go check her sugar again.

Holy smokes.

Yeah, that’s way too high! Sending her best wishes and hopefully it’ll go down soon.

Beautiful Dutch oven!

Cut 1.5 sheets of 3/4" plywood into 2" wide strips lengthwise and routered two edges roundish to make door trims.

Tomorrow they get a rough sanding on the good side and then a coating of drywall mud to smooth them out and fill holes. After drying they will get another light sanding and a coat of primer and then installed.

The price of ready made trim is astronomical here. I can make my own for a very small fraction of the price.

Mom's sugar came down to 205 now. Will check it again in awhile. Possibly after my brother gets home from work, but I'll be checking on her. The power outage last night didn't help with things. Need to sort out which meds she needs to take. I think she may be due for her evening meds sometime soon but I'm letting her rest. The being woken up constantly thing stresses her out and doesn't help her sugar. Gonna give her a few solid hours of sleep while I grab a salad to eat and watch some House Hunters or one of the holiday baking shows.

Got chores done around here before lunch. Neighbor boy Levi stopped in this morning and even wanted to help, so I put him to work, too. After lunch, went to start the older pickup to follow husband down to the train station with it. Nope. Won't start. It started a week or so ago. So, followed him over in the Challenger. Left the good pickup there in the lot, because son is coming in on the train. Already showing an hr late arrival, so maybe 3 am now. But I'll be asleep. He'll use the key code to open it up and use the key I stowed. We'll get the other pickup on the charger tomorrow. Little granddaughter and I went to visit my mom. Brought her a stuffed santa bear that she was pleased with. She was in a good mood today, so that was nice. Then off to Aldi to fill half a cart. We're leaving town Tuesday, so didn't really need a full one. Still got a few things to "put away" like I always do. Butter back on sale this week there for $2.49 limit 6, so more for the freezer. Canned corn is still limit 9 cans. Why? I have no idea. It's not on sale.
