Mine dont lay with lack of light. I get 3 a day now. Used to be 2 to 3 dz. a day. They'll start up again after Dec 21st.
we are down to about 5 egss a day now , just started, usually get a dozen a day. I am ready for the days to get longer againe too. It started getting dark when I took the dog for a walk up the mountain yesterday ( we are on the north side, which makes it worse) and almost didn't make it back before dark

Ended up with 34 loaf size banana breads, 1 bundt and 24 mini loaves. Some will be delivered today and some are in the freezer for later. That is such a big job since it includes packaging and putting them away. I was tired last night!

This morning, I will walk first.
Go deliver banana breads.
Pick up in Church parking lot and mulch around flowers by entrance.
Hopefully rest!

The wife has been trying to be festive, she has been making a few loaves of bread each day, usually we give away whole loaves and plates of cookies, this year it will be cut back to slices of bread and cookies on a plate... She just doesn't have the energy to make 30 or 40 loaves of bread any more...

The wife is planning to have a "family" dinner tonight (chicken/pork adobo) I reminded her that I was planning a walk for today and I would not be home until about 6:30, then she informs me that the company is coming at 5:30.... Leaves me in a bit of a pickle....

My wife has an eye doctor appointment so we'll drive an hour each way for that.
Need to go to the UPS store and return 2 packages while we're there.
My wife want's to go to Olive Garden so we will. I hate that place.
Their food is terrible. I believe they get everything in plastic bags and just heat it up.
I tell her their chef is a microwave oven.
She wants to go so we will. I'm on a diet so I'll have a salad.
Even that isn't very good.
I do miss a good Italian food like they have back East.
Supposed to get a little bit of snow tomorrow then rain on Sunday.

Wondering where the year went....
Here's a laugh for you- I entered a radio comp, and the guy says, 'and we are making the call now'- and my phone rang !!!
so I pounced, but it was just my oil delivery saying they were delayed 😭🤣🤣 So I didn't win 150,000
That's a shame you didn't win--you probably could have used the 150,000 grand to pay for the oil delivery. I hate when I see that delivery ticket in my mailbox.

Today was cemetery day for me. Six blankets at one cemetery and one cross at another cemetery. Now I'll finish decorating my tree.

After I did the dishes I spent the better part of the morning wrapping Christmas presents. (mostly for my wife) I put the TV on a Christmas music channel, and went to work. I wrap everything in our house for every occassion, and, yes, there is a story. Be that as it may, we are bought, wrapped, and under the tree. I think I will have a nice Scotch and listen to Christmas carols.

Drove the girls to school, then started animal chores, then husband had a problem with the midline on his arm, bleeding around the area, so I threw on clean clothes and drove him to the bigger town. Back home, changed again, back to animal chores. Then to the bank, post office, and amish store in our town, back to make husband lunch. He's snoozing now, and I'll finish my coffee and need to butcher the last seven meatbirds. Finally. Tomorrow afternoon is another funeral (my cousin Rodney), and just heard an elderly lady in the community passed early this morning, so another huge funeral on Sunday. My favorite cousin's husbands funeral this week...final count was about 600 people. That's alot of people to feed. Neighbor ladies are scrambling again, for sure, to feed and help get the Sunday funeral ready. Cousin Rodney wasn't amish, and lived in the bigger town. It'll be a memorial service tomorrow afternoon in a small chapel with just a handfull of people.

Near 50F this afternoon.. About 40F low last night.. Must have sprinkled a bit as streets wet first thing this morning, but dry before noon.. Overcast now with s,w wind... So likely more moisture..
Look in the ...Chicken... thread as there are several tips to keeping a flock healthy and laying well..

Did I mention ?? The cougar seen in the area got hit and killed on the highway... It had been DNA back tracked as far as north west Nebraska before here... Here and there are both parts of natural migration routes for young cats coming around and through the Black Hills S.D. from the Rockies and Big Horn mountains..

Forgot when I last reported.

I did finish the wiring for the third circuit on the transfer switch. It was a pain but it is behind me now. The Princess want the fourth freezer to be added and another for the network hardware.

I returned some wrong sized furnace filters and a bad key fob for the Simplisafe alarm.

I cleaned up after my wire work and returned tools to the Jeep and shop.

I repotted some more lettuce plants, planted more lettuce and radish seeds then rearranged all of the greenhouse.

Got a lot done today… all the dishes, all the laundry, even the rag box. Ironed a half dozen shirts to get me through the holidays. Linen day also, everything washed, folded and put away. A lite music day, only 15 songs so far, fingers needed some rest. Got the last of the presents ordered this week and all the bills paid. Of course there’s always one more thing to do but I got 2 weeks to think what that might be. Aside from daily chores I have nothing to do but enjoy music and food the rest of the month.

Yay, day off #2! After working 6 & 7 days a week for several weeks it's nice to have a little time off! Busy day planned here at home! Got laundry going now. Nice long to do list. Will make breakfast (maybe brunch instead). Inside stuff this morning, 80° later so I'll be outside!!
Lazy bones 🦴 😂
Good for you. 2 days off is necessary! The first day off, you don’t relax.

Snappy went bananas! 🍌 😂
Sorry- couldn’t resist.

Still rolling but am sitting for a few minutes.
Made Hubby a batch of oatmeal monsters. Cleaned up the summer kitchen as it was a disaster: broke down boxes from when we got our beef, beans were dry so got all those plucked, all the fixins from candle making put away and then a general clean up. Now back in the house: dishes all done- going to do some general cleaning in here and maybe get a little decorating done 😍

Ha Ha...and here I was going to place an order. There was just an Outhouse Parade in Elk Falls, Ks last month...that one could of been a winner.
Got the last of the meat chickens butchered, seven of them, and they are chillin now. Maybe get the meat cut off tomorrow, cook the carcasses for the cats, and grind the meat. I have enough broth and whole chickens already. Neighbor's mom came by with the mowing boy Aaron while I was butchering. They brought a tray of cinnamon rolls and a gift certificate to the local amish place we get takeout from. A thank you for housing their freezer in our outbuilding. So I gave Aaron a few turkey eggs a while ago, and he hatched one of them, and it's a slate hen. Told him to come get a tom turkey to go with that slate tomorrow before our son butchers the mean ones.

At 8:00 this morning I will be at Walmart with the Kiwanis to help needy families pick Christmas presents for them and of course, the Kiwanis will pay for them.

At 1:00 PM I Nikki Haley will be coming here, so I will go see what she is all about. I am 100% Trump but I like to see what others are about and get in their faces if they are not for the right things.

At 4:30 PM I will be going to the American Legion for a dinner they are putting on for us Veterans.
