One begins to wonder how some will fare when normal isn't?

Not an Airport, we don't need departures, unless of course you wanted attention ?

It hasn't been long enough for that type of decision yet has it?

Heres what you get when a 70 pound line array slides down your forearm!!!

Trimmed most of the loose off with scissors I soaked in Listerine all night this morning, get the rest as it loosens up.

Nice day in River bend, 86f and sunny right now.

Taking the rented part of the line arrays and the crank stands back to Sutherlands Sight and Sound today, may get out without any more scrapes.

Need to put out the 12 gs to get the same stuff for these off stage parts of the shows.

Already have the bigger ones and subs for the main shows.

The clean up is the work on these mud parks, almost ANY outdoor park will leave all of you stuff dust just from foot and driveway traffic, even a wedding.

Need one more trailer to load this stuff in too instead of the truck.

I guess I missed some drama , If someone can t' function with the people on this forum, they really don't have much hope, do they.

that looks painful, but it might hurt a lot too (Tigger from the Pooh stuff)

talked to husband a while ago, the power is still out after 3 days ( from the storm) and he has been running the big generator a lot to keep the freezers frozen
I am dreading to see the place when we get home....
Flight back to DC tomorrow then another 5 hour drive. This one is worse, since the time change is not in our favor.

I don't know if your real name is Sonya @sonya123 but I dated a girl many decades ago named Sonya. She was the smallest cutest blonde girl I had ever seen, but was meaner than a junkyard dog and could speak angry German with the fire of centuries of war mongering rage. We could have had many very happy abusive years together before she killed me, but instead I went off to see the world. Not sure what happened to her, and I know it's not you, but when I see your user name from here on out I am going to pretend it is and that your husband is a lucky man. Lucky in love and lucky to be alive. Which I am quite sure he is. ;)

Hope they restore your power soon!

I missed whatever post got deleted. Hope there wasn't any drama.

12icemaker OUCH!!! That looks nasty. Hope it heals up quickly and doesn't get infected.

Got up and went to the post office bc the rest of the stuff needed to fix my truck was in. Grabbed food and went home. Fully planned to have my friend work on the truck today but then thunderstorms started. so, rain check on that one. Supposed to rain tomorrow too. Bleh.

Took Gravy Jones to the vet to get is eye looked at. Fortunately, the eye itself is OK, but it is injured above and has an abscess draining into the eye and causing irritation. Poor baby. He was well behaved on the ride over but was scared. He was freaking out in the vet's office after he got an antibiotic shot. He didn't like having the abscess pressed on. Vet said its a good thing that its draining though.

Stopped to get gas and then headed home. I'd charged up my battery powered fan and had it pointed at my face for awhile when power came back on.

Now I'm waiting to see if UPS will actually deliver the jet pump today.

I so agree with you. I just do not understand some people. But one of us/them has started a new forum and is privately inviting others, so when they get their invite, they feel the need to remove themselves from here. Can't be on both places!!

At PS, there was a member, before my time there, known as Aardvark who decided to make an announcement that he was leaving!!! From then on, when someone else would do the same, announce that they were leaving, they were Aardvarking.

So how many Aardvarks have we had here lately?

Took some time off this week. It's a relief not to have to deal with work for a bit, even though I have a good job. Still having troubles with excessive sleepiness, but managed to get going a bit today, built two more raised beds and cut and oiled the timbers for two more. I had pulled up all of the carpet (even the bathrooms and kitchen were carpeted, who does that?) when I moved into this house and last week I finally got it all laid out on the side yard and then had 8 yards of pea gravel delivered on top of it. This will form the base for my greenhouses. Hoping the carpet covers all the tiny shards of metal and glass left from the seller tearing out an old mobile home, and that it will also keep the gravel from sinking. My young helper came over and leveled all that pea gravel (by hand!) and today I oiled the baseboards from my original greenhouse so hopefully I can start putting that up tomorrow. We also rolled out and pinned landscape fabric to set up the garden area and I brought home a trailer load of mulch for it. My brother helped me offload and spread that and it's clear I'm going to need a few more loads! But that's where I'll set up some raised beds; with any luck I'll have a couple of them filled and ready to go this week. It's going to be late, and small sort of garden with boughten plants, but it's the best I can do this year. I'm about where I should have been back in March but it's been a struggle so it is what it is.
Tomorrow a friend and I are going to go talk to a local Amishman about doing the roof of my house, got a referral when we were at the greenhouse last week. And we'll probably stop at the greenhouse again, too. :)
Skies are gloomy again and a bit of thunder has been rumbling off and on, but no rain so far. Sure feel bad for all the folks suffering from the severe weather. Reminds me of the early-mid seventies, seems we saw tornadoes every few days where we lived in southeastern Michigan. Thankfully we never had a direct hit, but I saw enough to last me a lifetime!

Back to work this morning. It's weeks like this that I really like working 4, 10 hour days a week. This week, it's only 3 days because of the holiday. I plan on enjoying the short week...
That's something we determined right away - our guys work 4-10s. So much better for all of us.

Safe travels @sonya123

Not sure what I missed, but eh' whatever.

Nice weekend. Didn't end up getting to go camping but did go fishing yesterday. Absolutely gorgeous day! Hubby only had one bite but did find maybe a little over a pound of mushrooms. l collected pine buds to infuse for soap - smells so good on the counter until l add the oil. Also got a little stitching done.
Today is back at it. l only have a 3 day week 😁 which I am grateful for. Oh and yesterday the sky had more chem trails than l have ever seen in one day 🤬

I will let the arm stop bleeding completely and dry, cut any loose off after and then Neosporin it when it is covered using sterile pads that are covered to prevent sticking and ingrowing. It usualy takes about three days to start healing but this on is a bit deeper than usual.

Most times I can bleed it real well by pushing from the attached point, unroll it and fit it back Vaseline or Neosporin on it and put a pressure bandage on it and it will seal within a week and heal in a couple.

The coating on the Line Arrays is really rough like a bed liner and it hit with the edge of the rear bottom corner.

They actually weigh about 60 to 65 pounds so they are not too heavy but the way it flipped back as i was reaching for the handle is what made it slide down my forearm instead of just fall back and hit it.

Just a stupid move on my part. Hopefully in a couple of weeks it will be healing well just be wearing the Kevlar cut proof sleeve over the long sleeves when I use the tractor and lawn mower by the brush lines.

Man it has been a pretty day today took back all of the Vantecs and the crank stands.

The little whine show reminded me of:brewing: Aardvark and the fun we had with that

I really find vicks or the original Mentholatum to work well on skuffs , scrapes and gouges. along with the stuff you already mentioned

@12icemaker I wonder if you can use potato skins on the wound. The inside part of the potato skins I think is what is used on some burn victims instead of bandages. Not sure if it would work on that type of wound. Looks like you have an avulsion. Must be painful. Do you have any Bactine with numbing agent in it? Wonder if that would work.

I haven't received any invites to other forums and I'm not sure who even posted to have something deleted. Mods are obviously keeping a clean house.

Took a nap for awhile and I woke up to a loud thunk. the sound of my new pump being dropped on my front step. Box says FRAGILE but it sounds like it was not delivered gently. It should be ok, but I'll have to check it in the morning. Friend won't be able to come out to work on stuff until Monday though so I have time to get everything organized.

We got the brunt of the storm just minutes after 7am this morning. We got a tornado warning just before that then the storm hit us and the sky went BLACK! The girls and I hunkered down in the laundry room with the dogs and 3 of the 4 cats. We lost power minutes after the storm started. Once the warning cleared and the sky was no longer angry we came out. It was still raining hard and the wind was making all the windows shake.

The storm passed and then an hour later we got round 2! No tornado warning this time but it was still violent outside. We were all so exhausted after the adrenaline left our systems the three of us passed out on the couches til noon. The sky cleared and the flooding receded. But still no power. K came home early and we set about getting the camp stoves to cook dinner. I thought they were in the garage and was having issues finding them but turns out K put them in the storage unit. So out to the storage unit we went. We also grabbed subway for dinner and some gas for the generator. We have gas but I wanted another 5 gallons since the power company was estimating we'd be without power until Thursday or Friday.

We got lucky and the power was restored around 6pm but we are expecting to lose it again with the next storm.
