They tricked me two years ago when they came to our door. I opened it too wide and they came on it, searched the house, woke everyone up. It was 4 a.m. When I complained, they told me to shut up and stand against the wall. The next time they came I opened the door, walked on the porch and shut the door behind me. This time I couldn't because when I did open the door just a little, all 6 of them moved forward. There wasn't room. I have no respect for these officers. They come about twice a year. Our son hasn't been in this state for years. They want him for child support.

Big Walmart, Dollar Tree, Produce stand and Tractor Supply day. So glad to get home! A friend sent me her Insta Pot because she couldn't work it. Brand new! I already ran the first run with just water and works great. I look forward to using it, if only to pressure can leftovers! LOL Otherwise, I use the big PC.

Tomorrow I leave at 5 AM for a 15 mile yard sale in Louisiana with some friends. Should be fun and plenty of exercise!

It must of been in the air, twin Patchouli, I also put herbs in teabags this morning before work. Spearmint. Smells so nice.
Work
Grocery shopping (pears 50 cents a lb)
Home, housecleaning, chopped two large bowls of tomatoes to can tomorrow. Fed all the critters. Hung (indoors) two loads of laundry. Emptied the shredded cabbage from the dehydrator.
Made dinner
Watched Chuck Norris
Had ice cream.
Wondering why the caravan people are suing DJT. They aren't citizens. They aren't in America. It's not their constitution. How can it be unconstitutional? I need to ignore the news for a while.
Glad it's Friday night, and I can sleep in a little bit.

This morning DH and I weeded 5 garden beds and used the copious amounts of grass clippings we had to mulch 3 garden beds so far with more to do this afternoon. We separated some thyme from the plants drying on the veranda but it wasn't quite dry so we have it in the sun drying a bit more before we tackle the rest.

Into the bathroom where we have packed 3/4's of the bathroom being all the body wash, soap, shave foam, toothbrushes, perfume, makeup, moisturisers and toothpaste into a couple of boxes. Now taking a bit of a break until it cools off outside to do a bit of yard work. Friends popped over to get some of our tomato, capsicum, calla and native lily plants we had growing in the garden which we texted them about. We often as friends swap seedlings and fruit and vegetables with each other in a sort of barter system.

This afternoon we finished separating the thyme and had just enough dry to complet an order that is paid to post on Monday. We then went into the gardens and harvested all but a couple of the beetroot we had growing and trimmed the leaves off them, approx 30 kg, and will take it to church to give away tomorrow. We also gave our neighbour a few large beetroot and 2 bunches of silver beet for himself and his son.

We didn't get to finish the mulching today but will continue on that tomorrow weather permitting. DH has just washed the dishes and cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put them away.

Tonight's dinner is long life meat and vegetables with rice.

I'm with Terri with reporting that dog owner, Weedy. It's not just for dog safety, but for human safety as well. I've learned never to break up a dog fight again. I'm still scarred on my left hand in three places from the fight I broke up between my own dogs. If our two dogs spat, I just walk away. I yell at them to go for it. And they stop when they see me walk away. I've never gone to a dog park, because I would be worried about other dogs. I don't understand people that while walking our dogs, decide to let theirs off of the leash. Freaks me out.

Many people have not learned dog ethics, such as keeping their dogs on leashes and cleaning up after their dogs. There are many places where there are leash laws, but people do what they want to do. I see frequent posts about off leash dogs and the havoc they wreak. I know those posts fall on deaf ears, if they even reach the offender.

As you all know I am trying to stay busy and get things cleaned out before next knee replacement.
Among other things.
So how many more times will I attempt to put together Estelle's toddler bed at Granny's house?
At least one more time tomorrow.
Finally had to call lady I got bed from to tell me how to put the dang thing together.
Seems you put slats and bottom together first, the footboard, headboard. DUH!
Tried every way but that way today.
So in the morning will try again. Dang.
I now see light at the end of sewing room tunnel.
The whole room vacuumed, furniture dusted.
Got rid of 2 shelving units (pretty wobbly),nightstand that was broken beyond what I could fix.
Ugly brown polyster curtains are gone ,making and putting up cafe style curtains white and bright polka dots.
Short term use typewriter table for sewing desk.
Everything is looking so fresh and clean in there.
Now I have to finish going through the stuff I stuck in shower while I was moving furniture slowly.
But my bed is cleaned off for sleeping tonight.
Strawberry is snoring in her part of the room(kennel).
Estelle has fascination with door of Strawberry's room.
She opens and closes it dozen of times, sticks her foot in and out of the kennel dozen of times each time she is at Granny's.
Pretty tired tonight, hopefully I will finally sleep.
Been a couple of days without restful sleep.
So much of what we have available to us by now is just made of glue and sawdust. I have a preference for solid older furniture. I have owned some cheap stuff, but a number of years ago realized that the French Provincial furniture made a few decades ago is solid and heavy. I worked to find pieces of it here and there and now have a complete bedroom set. I have repainted most of it because of nicks and dings. I used to be all about natural wood colors, but am in a different phase now.

Once you open the door you have given them the power to search the area they are in. NEVER let the officer in your home without a warrant.
I don't even let the local deputies in my house when they are on duty. Some are friends and I know a few of them.
Have you ever wondered why cops don't trust people? It's because they lie all the time to get people to incriminate themselves. It's part of the job. If you spend you life lying then you find it hard to trust.
When the big day of drug busts happened in the Denver area a few months ago, there was a really bad deal in my daughter's neighborhood. There was an Asian family who owned a few restaurants. Their house was identified as a house with a drug problem. It was the wrong address! As restaurant owners, they often took the cash home. Evidently they had quite a stash of cash, having a few restaurants. Their house was turned upside down and what was found was the cash, but nothing else drug related. They were in process of getting ready to sell their home and buy a new one. I have not heard an update, and may never, but cannot imagine that kind of invasion. There were young children who witnessed the whole deal.

@Weedygarden I cannot bring myself to paint family heirloom antique furniture, but the wonderful old furniture you can pick up at yard sales and such, game on. Maybe my heirs will paint the heirlooms.
I like various grains of wood still but painting the furniture can brighten up the room.
I agree! I have some family heirlooms that I would never paint. Other stuff, it depends on what it is.

Finally got Estelle's toddler bed together. whew! Half the screws, cams were missing.
Note to self when Estelle's mom comes bearing gifts for her to be used at Granny's house.
heistant then check over carefully after she leaves then chuck if needed.
Found necessary screws and cams, bed is made with clean sheets, blanket Granny made her as an infant. pj's under pillow.
I don't paint family heirlooms, but yard sale, auction stuff is fair game.
I have one corner left in sewing room left to empty.
Then go through odds and ends containers then this room will finally be finished.
Working on daughter in law's Laura's Christmas shawl in her favorite colors:
Wine Burgundy and Pale Lavender.
Maintenance man didn't show up today again.
No Hot Water, water heater is leaking.
Had Estelle for several hours today.
Strawberry ate her corn dog, but Estelle offered it to her.
Estelle tried to eat Strawberry's milk bone, dog food, but got to her first before it got to her mouth,
Estelle ate a little bit of dirt today, daddy wasn't watching closely enough.
Just one medium size dirt clog. Daddy looked horrified, Granny just laughed.
Love that little girl to pieces.

@MoBookworm1957 LOL Estelle sounds like a handful!

Up at 4 am for big yard sale today. It was fun! I got 10,000 steps just after 11 am! Haven't done much of anything this afternoon. Tomorrow is Church morning and evening and dog bath day.
Good thing Estelle is only 17 months old.
and she still getting her balance on the walking part.
Right before she does something she's not suppose to do; she'll start yelling bad bad at the top of her little lungs.
Cause that's what her mom and sister do to her.
Daddy and Granny don't tell her she a bad girl.
We just take her hands away from the outlets, Strawberry's food bowl.
We show her, what kind of behavior is acceptable and what isn't acceptable behavior, not scream at her all the time.
She's still absorbing things like a little sponge.
This is how I raised her daddy and Uncle Fred. It worked on them, I see no reason it won't work on her.

Today was uneventful... Tonight is most annoying... From the yapping by the coyote pack down the holler a new alpha male took over the pack tonight. For the last 2 hours my shepard keep wolfing at the edge of the yard... not barking, just wolfing his annoyance, which is annoying to me... Shut Up Already... they are a mile away... I put 9 rounds of 22LR down the hollow... what else can I do?

Patchouli...this year I've grown and am drying mints, sage, basil, chives, rosemary. Mints I use for tea. Got the coolest drawstring teabags from Amazon this year. Previously bought the teabags where you iron them close. The other herbs I dry for cooking. I did make rosemary hair rinse for gifts this year. I have 5 bottles in my gift closet. Bought the decorative clear glass bottles with the cork stopper at Dollar Tree. Stuffed it with a good sized cutting of rosemary. Added 3/4 of it with warmed white vinegar, and 1/4 with water. I also dry lots and lots of rose petals for potpourri, but I use the dehydrator for those because they retain their color better. I add rose essential oil.

I have read this post a few times. I understand that they think that maybe you are hiding him, because people do that. A few decades ago I called police for a theft on my property. The way I was treated told me that it would be a cold day in hell before I called them again. I later read about the responding officer being released because of his personality. They have a job to do, and the real criminals do everything they can to get away with their crimes.

One of my neighbors is African-American, while most of my neighbors are not. He is an active guy. One morning he was out walking and found a deceased man in an alley. He called it in. Police came out and made him stay there for seven hours, occasionally suggesting that he could have a seat in the back seat of a police cruiser. As he told others, he had never been in a police cruiser before and he wasn't going to start that day, because the only thing he had done was to report a body of a deceased person. The police probably thought he was the man who put the knife in the man. This man grew up mostly in Europe as his dad was in the Air Force. Eventually it was determined that the deceased man probably fell on his own knife. Go figure that! I don't think they got it right either way.
