Today, did laundry, swept house, made phone calls to docs for DH and gave myself a manicure. First time I painted my nails since before I left FL in 2002. My new (and not broken) meat grinder came today. We turned it on but have to wait for me to get chicken to grind tomorrow.

Tomorrow, I have to make 4 square cakes for Church Fall festival and at 3 pm go to the Church and help make brownies for the festival. Before I get to the Church, I'll stop at the courthouse and see if I can get a sample ballot for Nov. 6th.

That's like a first, for a doctor to not know AND admit it. It means he's humble enough to not make mistakes on her. I'm sure you must be very worried about it at times. As I've told you, I can relate.

He really surprised me. It scares me when her heart rate goes over 200. Or under 40.

My hope for her is that there will be a doctor who knows exactly what is up with her heart and will know what approach to take to even her out. It only takes one. The Mayo clinics are the best. I've known of several people with unusual or difficult health problems who have used them. Far away for all of them to get to, but made all the difference.

Took hubby to the Dr to make sure his eyes were cleared up. Kid had a check up too. Her heart rate has been over 100 (from 140 to 200+) most days this week and she was really dragging. Just worn out. Doc gave her a B12 shot to help with her energy, didn't work. She slept the rest of the day...... There's a new pediatric cardiology group opening an office next week or so so our Doc wants to give them a shot before sending us to the Mayo clinic.
Has she had her cortisol levels checked? My ex wife has Addison's disease (adrenal insufficiency), and she gets symptoms like that. Adrenal insufficiency is no joke and is often both misdiagnosed and fatal. The docs will probably not take you seriously if you mention it, but if these symptoms happen after physical or mental stress I would really be suspicious of adrenal problems...

I have more leaves to rake from the maple trees today since we had high winds yesterday. And the pine tree next to the house showered the front porch again with needles so that has to be swept again. Pups killed a nice fat opossum yesterday so I had to get it away from them. New game of keep away with mom. Hubby's doc visit went well.
I'll remember to not post any hygiene remarks so it doesn't turn into a competition
The pumpkin spice non dairy creamer makes a really good bread pudding. Now I'm wondering if the peppermint one would make a good one when making a chocolate bread pudding. Chocolate and mint....yum

More packing today and we have now finished packing all of our food storage apart from what we need and all of our prepping and lanterns as well as some of our toilet paper and face washers.

This afternoon we weeded the front sweet potato bed, put the weeds in the bin and cut up the broad bean plants and put them in the wheelbarrow ready to trench compost

After visiting a few dogs, I am going to work on scanning some family history photos, wills and other documents, all treasures!

My mom's 93 year old brother sent me my grandparent's birth certificates, Social Security cards (like new, still in the original envelope), photos and more earlier this summer.

My mom's younger sister died a few weeks ago and her daughters are cleaning out her house. They sent a box of documents and photos as well. There are many wonderful photos in the box as well as family documents. One document that I had never seen before is the ad from when my grandparents ranch was sold in 1990. My grandmother died in 1981 and the land had been leased for many years by one of my uncles. As people were aging and dying, it was decided to sell off the land, nearly 1000 acres of grassland. Oh how I wish the land was still in the family! Some of it was from a homestead that my grandmother's oldest sister had proved up on in the 1920's.

I recently joined a group that is about scrap booking family history. I saw a website through them yesterday that really caught my attention for how to put it together, at least for 4 generations. I will be changing it up a little because the person who did this only does direct lines of ancestors. I have worked to include siblings and descendants. It will help me re-work my scrapbooks in a more organized fashion, but I will extend it back and forward and include all relatives that I find. https://doasimdoingblog.com/

I certainly wasn't trying to make what you do for your feet sound like it wasn't necessary, or whatever. My feet are 4 wheeling jeeps. Yours are Cadillacs. I'm sorry.
My primary care doctor says you should get a pedicure at least once every 3 months, improves circulation of your feet and legs.
Don't know personally, but sounds reasonable.

It does sound like a great idea. I am just not a fussy girly type. I wonder if doing a home pedicure would be any where near as effective?

That was the second thing the endocrinologist checked for. Her heart rate was 187 when she woke up this morning.

@Terri9630 I sure wish the docs would figure out what is going on with your daughter! I can't imagine how frustrating it is for you both. I will pray that you find answers soon!

Today, I made a few phone calls, one to mys sister as tomorrow is her Birthday and another to my health insurance lady. Then made 4- 8" square cakes for Church tomorrow (well one is for DH). Got the sample ballot from the Courthouse, bought chicken to grind with my new machine tomorrow and then went to the Church to make brownies with the Sunday School ladies. Got home watched a little tv and that's it. Tomorrow will start soon enough!

@Terri9630 The doc didn't put her on a prescription to keep her heart rate low?

No. Her heart rate fluctuates between 35 and 200+. Its not constant at either extreme so no meds.

Checked with the ins company today and the Mayo clinic in Az doesn't have a contract with them but the one in Fla and Minn are. Go figure.

Thanks snappy. Its incredibly fusterating. I'm worried about long term damage.

had to get hubby packed andready to go to tuscaloosa for 3 days; seminars. tomorrow we have a couple of beef roasts to can for beef tips and rice. probably some deer meat also.

@timmie You should have messaged me. I was in Tuscaloosa yesterday, could have gone today. I would have liked to meet your hubby, shown him the good places to eat. There are great places to eat in T-town but they aren't on the brochures at the hotel... :)

He's doing some seminars. Coming home today. He said they go to a restaraunt that Saban goes to on thursday nights.

This morning I frosted, decorated and delivered the 3 cakes to Church so I can walk up there later and not have to take car. Made oatmeal for DH, did month end bookkeeping for eBay, checked local grocer ads, put hay out for goats and going to rest a while before I go work at Festival.

Spent some time at the dog park today with the ridgeback. Some of the women who are regulars there are walking the perimeter of the park every day to get more exercise. It is good for all of us at several levels.

A woman who used to be a regular is no longer coming to the dog park. It is for the best. She has a young Akita, almost one year old, who seems to attack other dogs every day. One of the dog owners decided to go after her legally after her dog was bitten. A judge has told Akita's owner to stay away from dog parks until she can prove that her dog is not a problem. She can't and has decided she will do nothing. She did decide she wasn't going to listen to the judge, and came back one day, and her dog attacked another dog.

Can you say it was just a bite? No, it was more than a bite. It is about intimidation and dominance. That is the nature of canines.

When Akita attacks other dogs, owner says he is a good boy and she is proud of him. Several of us who were trying to communicate were dismissed repeatedly when we tried to tell her that her dog needs some training, that attacking other dogs is not good. Her dog's attacks have driven people away from bringing their dogs there. One good thing about this particular dog park is that there are two different sections, one meant for larger dogs and the other for smaller dogs. The smaller dog side rarely gets used, so if there is an issue or problem, people just go over there with their dogs to get away from problem dogs. Akita's owner didn't like that and began name calling when people tried to get their dogs away from hers.

I told another woman today that there are some mental health issues with Akita's owner and that she is stuck at some point in time in her childhood that none of us will ever really know about.

It doesn't matter. No matter where you go, there may be people who don't understand the impact they have on others that is not good.
