...I have to make a run to the dump..
Get some lunch ready for work
...water my lime tree and Aloe
Package up another box to send to Grindstone ministry in TN..this is box #3! Whew hew!
Move a 12 foot log :/ ..uggh..sigh..
I wanted get everything done yesterday but it took half a day to mostly clean n organize the garage and boneyard..still not done with that but I worked till dark.
I'm feeling it today..

Good news is the mill hired a new guy to learn to run my machine. Turns out his dad was a neighbor down my road untill he retired, married a gal n moved. His dad was a great neighbor, so I'm happy to teach his son my job. Maybe the mill will let me go on clean up for winter 2 weeks out of the month like on day shift. He can stack and I'll just help him out when a bad wreck happens. Otherwise give me a shovel, broom and airhoze.
Then if it's snowing hard, I stay home too 😀 no stress, no driving through blizzards at 5am on ****** Mt roads
I can dream..lol..

Splitting firewood this morning.

Yesterday I was using my truck to help pack the gravel pad. Got too close to the side and slid off the pad. Now I have to fix the mess I made.
Judging by your speed at splitting wood, you should be able to disassemble the truck, move the parts back up on the pad, and reassemble it in an hour or so and be on your way. Then you could just kick the gravel back into place in a minute or two.

I over did it this week, badly. But the new fence is finished and I can turn the calf back out on good grass tomorrow. Then go back to bed for a couple days.

Smashed my left thumb with a hammer today. 🤬 I use that thumb often when playing guitar. Guess I’ll be limited for a week or so. Don't think I'll lose the nail though.

No plans tonight but rest...

Stayed home today and got a little bit of organizing done but not enough. My sewing stuff has taken on a life of its own and requires taming. It’s looking a little better but I have to figure out where I left off in the spring and get crackalackin.
Back to work tomorrow and will take the new studded tires we got mounted on the rims as it won’t be long before they will be needed.

Is We getting Discovered Again 2morrow :

  • Columbus Day
  • USA

  • Monday, October 14, 2024

Columbus Day, which is on the second Monday of October, celebrates Christopher Columbus' arrival to the Americas on October 12, 1492. This is an important date in many Italian-American communities; it is controversial in some Native American communities.
OK, Wake Up NOW...!!! ;)

I never thought I would question Columbus Day ...until I asked some Tribal friends about it. Now I wish it just wasn't even.
@LadyLocust I didn't know you were a chandler!! I want to do that. Send me a pm or talk about it the crafts section. Wait, maybe you already did. Lovely.
Glad you're making way on the chicken coop @Mountain trapper
Keep doing what you're doing @Bacpacker taking it easy, enjoying the evening and time with family.
:huggs:
@Peanut You're going back to bed for a couple of days?!! Sorry about your thumb.

got everything done yesterday, well, the greenhouse is almost done, the frame is up and it's level. I will take a photo when it is done.
Today the plan depends on if farm store has grain I want to get or not. If they do we are making a trip to the dump and then to the farm store and some grocery shopping. Out of bananas and yogurt. I hate buying yogurt in the store with all the food recalls lately. Next year I will try harder to take the milk goat kids away and milk her and maybe one more. We get a ton of requests for goat milk at the market ( can't legally sell it, but we can "give it away for donations" ) . All the store products lately seem to have listeria or salmonelle in it. Both die with cooking but you don't cook yogurt, or ice cream, or cream cheese.
Still need to deworm the big bucks today. They don't look like they need it but they get stressed and eat less when breeding so I do it before just in case. We put everyone in the barn yesterday evening because it was supposed to thunderstorm. We did not get a drop of rain.
Getting really dry here again. The 6 inches or more we got with the storm are long gone flowing down the creek to the river

Got to get a customers motorcycle repair done today.....cold coming in thursday and he wants to ride it before the ice and snow start.
I have a bunch of stuff to get covered up before winter and I picked up a new 12X20 harbor freight canvas garage to set up for things I want available and maybe have enough room to pull a vehicle in partway to work on it if needed this winter.

technologically challenged here...they look the same to me LOL, where are the new ones?

The quick react ones look the same, but if you click the smiley face in the bar above your post the new ones look like they were drawn by short bus art students rather than normal emojis. They went from :) to 🙂. I don't smoke weed or eat THC gummies so they look awful to me.

Happy Columbus Day! I know the history re-writers, statue destroyers, and descendants of those conquered by the men who came after Christopher don't like it, but good bad or otherwise he was an important part of the history of the USA and without him it's possible we might all be speaking French or with a weird British accent. Regardless the progressives have worked diligently to smear his name at every turn, rewrite history, and misinform in the name of enlightenment.

Got up, worked out, went for a swim, returned to the apartment and spent a few minutes with the lady before she left for work. I don't have a lot going on today so I will have to report back if I accomplish anything or just watch the clock tick away. Right now I don't feel like accomplishing anything other that going around the web and **** posting about old Christopher to rile up the lefties. I do have to place the grocery order too, so there's that.

Commonplace thinking of the day, but you can form your own opinion.

And that's all that matters. Judging figures of the past by the societal norms of the day. Judging them by the values of today is a founding principle of socialism/communism and a direct path to censorship and the willful corruption of the truth until it ceases to exist. History is full of great people who also did horrible things, and horrible people who also did good things. They all provide us with valuable insight.
