I have survived the unexpected, unwanted playdate.
With four little girls under the age of 5 years old.
Knew I was suppose to have Estelle.
Knew absolutely nothing about cousin and 2 of her grand daughters dropping by.
Also didn't know son's lady and her youngest daughter were coming too.
Cousin and her grand daughters got here at 1045 am.
They didn't leave till 1:45 pm.
Son and lady didn't leave till it was time for her to pick up her two oldest ones from school.
They left about 2:30 pm. Both have to work tonight.
It's 6:45 pm and Strawberry has already put herself to bed.
She didn't know what to think about all them little girls.
Didn't know who to follow, who to try to play with, she finally gave up crawled up on my lap.
Several of my toys got damaged(I collect toys). Hopefully I can find replacements on a couple of pieces.
Sitting here with my feet up resting.
Thankfully mom's appointment was at 0845 am this morning.
What is CATO?

What is CATO?

Congrats on your ability to improvise, adapt and overcome :)!! Cato is a clothing store, I have seen it at a mall/lifestyle center (strip center)

We have a local CATO store. They sell women's clothes. Decent price. Have a selection of modest clothes and long skirts. They also have plus sizes in cute styles. I shop there and Burlington for clothes.
Wow, Mo. Sorry you had an unexpected preschool going on.
I do that for a living. Licensed for 61 students. Some are older, but the majority of them are between 2 and 5.
I know when our grandkids come over, the ones that don't live with us, our old men cats go run and hide. Too much activity for them.
I survived the week of screwed up hours. Half the time I didn't know if I was opening up at 6:15 a.m. or closing at 6:30 pm, or doing both. Thirteen more days and I'm on vacation. Fourteen more days and I leave for the farm for a week. Looking at my work schedule until then, it'll be nuts. But I'm getting anxious to get out of here for a while. Husband and I were able to meet for a late lunch, which is rare. Not hungry for dinner, now, but just made some whole wheat pizza dough for the kids to make their own, and maybe have some later. The snow is falling, started about 4 p.m. Filled up 5 five gallon jugs of water at the water place before the snow hit, shopped a few specials at the store, filled the dehydrator with chopped hot peppers I had in the freezer.

It's nice to know my Military training still comes in handy.
And thank you for information about CATO too.

About a week ago, a very, very thin calico cat suddenly jumped up on the porch when I was feeding my cats. She was so thin and would cry if picked up. I put her in a soft cage she could come and go out of and fed her. She just seemed so lost. A friend of ours came by tonight and we were talking about cats, he said they had lost their calico several weeks ago, did not know what had happened to her and his son was upset about losing her. I told him about the one that came here, that I was feeding it and had it in a soft container to keep it warm. I got the flashlight and told him to come and look and see the cat, so we went around to my backyard and looked in the container....Sure enough...it was HIS cat...he was so thrilled, he picked her up, walked her all the way home to give her to his son...then came back to get his car. So happy the cat is home...made him take fresh eggs home with him and tortillas for breakfast.

Went for groceries in the big town. Where I park at home is a mud puddle after all the rain. It took 8 or 9 trips to get the groceries in the house. So, after I got the groceries put away I had to mop the floors, just mopped them last night, darn.

I purchased some ocean perch fillets at the store, never had them before. I thought I'd just bread and fry them. Ideas?

Totally understand @dademoss I checked my bank account from the 18th on the 19th and found a nefarious $190 withdrawal with no description on it except miscellaneous debit. Been hold of customer service they say that it will be 10 days before anything can be done and we just spoke to our local branch who rang us to find out if something can be done quicker to return the $190 back to our bank account. They are going to call us back after they get onto the fraud team and hopefully it will be rectified sooner rather than later. Usually any debits on our account show up as where they are from the next day but not in this case.

So I am saying to everyone to regularly keep checking your bank account transactions to see if there are unexplained transactions on it.
I get an email every time a transaction is made on my bank account.

Wish they would do that here but sadly not something we can set up with the banks @Terri9630 .
All of our accounts have an alert option on their websites. Some send an alert daily or weekly some for every transaction.

Still regrouping from yesterday's unexpected play date.
Strawberry has been out to take care of business already this morning.
Drinking coffee, sitting in recliner.
When Strawberry was 12 weeks old when I got her.
She would fall through the hole between the footrest and chair of recliner.
So I would put a pillow there, rest my legs on it ,place a blanket over my legs.
She make a nest, her safe space.
Now she's 4 years old.
When we sit in recliner, we have to do same thing, that's her comfort spot.
Now when we do that, we have Estelle on my lap too.
That's her story book time, nap spot.
Ain't life grand, puppies, grandkids all want a spot on Granny's lap.

Didn't do much on friday. Just hung out with the pups some and tossed their toys for them to fetch and then fight over. made cookies. had soup and sandwiches for supper

Today so far we went to breakfast at the diner. Went to the walmart. Stopped at our tax preparer's and signed our taxes.
I got my leggings I ordered online in the mail yesterday ( can't find Tall in the brick and mortar stores) so I have those to wash and dry before I can wear them
Plan on sending the hubby out to get supper somewhere later this afternoon
And I plan on watching some tv and reading

Husband went to the ham radio tech fest today. I've mopped, vacuumed, changed bedding, hung wash indoors, cleaned bathrooms. Snow is melting. Schoolwork with the grandkids. Studying the Bill of Rights and case studies. Had to explain why someone should not get a life sentence, even if it's a third offense, if they only stole a total of $197.00. Need to drop them off at American Heritage Girls ice skating day. I'll go to Tractor Supply to stock up on feed while they are gone. Snow is melting fairly quickly, and roads look clear, so off I go.

Watched an Olympian in the making. My 10year old granddaughter in a gymnastic tournament for 11 and up, took a first and two seconds. This was against hundreds of girls.

Yesterday we took out 3 posts for a garden bed that was in the back yard and it turns out we can reuse the posts and wire for the new garden beds we are moving further up to the house. Got 3 more to dig out there that are about 10 ft long and ironbark so they weigh a ton. Once done with the 2 we will use pivot points to get them into the car trailer to use in the front gardens.

In the afternoon DH washed the dishes, cleaned the benches and I dried them and put them away. A fairly easy day really as it is now cooling off considerably over the coming days but is expected to be hot for a few days after that.

Dinner was the other half of our homemade chicken and mushroom pie.

Can't sleep....time for tomato soup my way...one can Campbell's Tomato Soup, one-half can water, dash of all-spice, pinch of garlic powder, salt & pepper, large pat of butter, 5 minutes in the microwave, and a shot of Captain Jack on the side!

Today I whipper snipped the front yard and I was 100% done and over it by 8.30am.
Dragged myself inside in a utter lather of sweat and stood under a cold shower for a long time.
It's not just the heat it's the UV which feels like you're being microwaved.
I rewarded myself with a huge bowl of chocolate ice cream because it's the breakfast of champions.
Managed to buy ice cream this last shopping trip but forgot sandwich meat and bread. *sigh*
True story.

Started off the morning with doing our scripture lessons which I have to say each time we read something new stands out to us which is wonderful. Then I checked the specials brochures online for our smaller local supermarkets but found nothing we needed there as the specials were mostly for more expensive branded products we don't use. Our local supermarket appears to have stopped doing the discount e-vouchers where we get $40 worth of free groceries so now we will shop further afield and after building up substantial food storage mostly stock up anything used with specials wherever we can get them at the best price. The staples we will buy with our 5% off roadside assist club gift vouchers. DH then watered all the potted fruit trees, herbs and ornamental flowers.

We have been relaxing most of the day but I did put on a loaf of bread in the bread making machine (cheaper than buying it in the shops including electricity @Tank-Girl) if you can buy the bread improver cheap (coles) and yeast. I trench composted the watermelon and other peelings in the pile of dried grass clippings which later we will use to line the bottom of our above ground garden beds when we purchase it.

DH is currently making a large batch of pasta salad to last us 2 or 3 days with food storage pasta (we have oodles of them) some tinned corn, chopped sliced ham, a few frozen chives from a bunch we were given and chopped a froze.

Tonight we will do our weekly baking and make a batch of chocolate brownies.

Oops forgot to say that we have worked out how to make bread using plain flour instead of bread flour @Tank-Girl which is a lot cheaper to buy. If you are thinking of buying a bread making machine let me know and I will give you the recipe. We also make jam in our bread making machine too and put it in sterilised recycled jam jars with pop top lids too.
