Had to drink a anti anxiety beer this morning.:waiting:. Hubby got into my important paers and put them up to where neither of us could find them. I tell him leave my papers alone. Lose all yours if you want but not mine. I was looking for my Power Squadron certificate to put in a frame and he had } put them in a safe place" yea real safe even we can't find them.
So I popped a top.
Otherwise I'm doing the eggplants and pilling up my composter with leaves and kitchen scraps. Not feelign too good these days so need to make us of good days and keep busy.
Will turn it in the am when its cooler. That was last of my leaves so I need to go into woods and get more to get ready for Fall fertilizer.

Had to leave off with the gardening for the last few days to get ready for repairs and sealcoat of the driveway. Today they came by and did the prep work. Tomorrow, weather permitting, they do the repairs and sealcoat. It is starting to cloud up so we will see. After that quake last fall new cracks opened in the drive and others enlarged. We didn't know how much until the snow left. The driveway repair crew says they are getting a ton of business from the quake.

I did manage to get one of my raised beds finished today and planted four blackberry plants.

Things have been down right hetic here lately.
Spent a very long frightening weekend in the hospital trying to stop them from killing me.
Tried to discharge myself and read them the riot act when they tried to administer
Drugs I was allergic to.
I am getting emergency surgery done to remove impacted wisdom teeth that have abscesses.
Emergency surgery being in 2 two weeks time mean while I am on heavy duty antibiotics
and what ever pain killers I can find that wont kill me and still works.

Been having major Internet issues again.

The garden is looking awesome but I am looking at my tomato rows and
I just don't have enough tomatoes planted to make the amount of sauce I want.
It's really frustrating.
I am going to start planting Roma VF seeds and I will be inter planting the seedlings between the
existing tomato plants because I planted them at 90cm spacing.

The crackhead next door went to jail for 3 months but is now out and back next door with a new
boyfriend.
She abandoned her dog which everyone else had to feed until the RSPCA came and collected it.
It be a matter of when not if she will get another pup.

I am buying more canning jars next pension to hopefully can all the sauce I will be making
from my tomatoes.
I am looking at buying a bulk lot of 120 jars which isn't a lot when you consider that's less than 3 a week.

Peanut, sorry for the loss of your friend.
Been taking finals.
Going to start a major cleanout purge this week of everything I own.
All the closets, dressers, pantry, under the bed, sewing room, everywhere.
Am sick of the way my house looks when I come home after being gone a few days.
Granted my son has been here staying with Strawberry but still.
I have to much stuff, makes me feel suffocated.
Making a list of things I will be keeping, but most everything else will go home with sons.
Good news while I clean everything out, I will also getting ready to move into my new apartment.
My green beans have blossoms on them.
I have been without some medicine for week now.
It's lost in the mail again.
So will be making a trip to the VA in the future.
Watching the flood water rising, watching the weather closely.
Suppose to start raining again tonight.
Been digging up the herb garden, moving it over to oldest sons house, would much rather they have it instead of the neighbor who digs up your stuff.
Have already moved over 3 raised beds frames, the dirt and 14 plants over there.
At the new apartment will have to figure out where to put Strawberry's kennel and the freezer.
I am moving into a one bedroom apartment, I now have a two bedroom apartment.
Before I signed up for the new apartment, I had order bigger meat bundle it will be ready for pickup on the 26th of this month. So will need to keep the freezer.
Strawberry will be staying with Estelle's daddy while her paperwork gets finished up.

You've had a tough time of things lately, Tankgirl. I hope you'll be on the mend soon.
Had work. I walked in my office this morning and had a lady waiting for me. Wanted to interview. I asked her name, and she was scheduled to interview last week and was a no show. So she felt she could just walk in. A ring in her nose, a tshirt on with lots of cleavage showing, blue jeans, and no resume. One of our teachers talked to her before I got in and told her if she was going to interview, it might be good to lose the nosering first, or turn it in her nostrils. She didn't listen. Still hiring a kitchen person/substitute teacher. She wanted the job, and I pointed out that she didn't have a commercial kitchen service card. She said she'd take the class and get one. I told her I'd reinterview her if she got one, had an appointment, and dressed appropriately.
A coworker brought by an unwanted female duck. and two chicken hens. The duck's name is AFLAC. Husband had his first day back at work today. Boy is he tired.

Darn Tank, and its not even a full moon. Hope you get that tooth out soon.

We have absolutely Antarctic winds here today and the temperature didn't get above 10 oc with a wind chill the temperature was 5 oc all day brrr and we got sprinkles of rain on and off all day too.

Now was a good day to start putting our wool/glass insulation batts in the ceiling so we have now retrofitted the full insulation batts and threaded them in and under the rafters with wiring and cut out small holes where the wiring goes down to the lights. That took around 4 hours to do but we are both feeling pretty good after it being it was so cool in the ceiling cavity. The house is now 6 - 7 oc warmer with our slow combustion fireplace going compared to before putting the insulation batts in so we are very glad we have done it.

I then swept up the insulation bits and pieces with the dustpan and brush and DH has just finished sweeping the kitchen and hallway to get up the final bits and pieces. DH then washed the dishes and cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put them away. I just brought up a box of kindling firewood for tomorrow morning and loaded the washing machine for a dark load of washing for tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be cutting small pieces of insulation batts to fill in the little spaces everywhere as the house is old (1910 - 40 built) and none of the insulation batts sold today will fit the gaps in the rafters in the ceiling cavity. We are now getting to be masters of retrofitting now insulation batts and previously doors too.

Doing some clean up and weed control today. I have to find a quick kill method for goats head. The yard is getting over run by them.
They enjoy a good bath in Round-up, and the other things I've tried have been just as worthless. I may give the extension office a call to see what they say.
If that fails, it's time to get the chemistry set out. I have a few recipes that will kill everything but I have to be mindful of my garden and the animals in the area. Maybe I'll try painting them...

WHEW! I thought you were putting your goats in RoundUp for a minute there. :ghostly:
Thank goodness it was a weed you were talking about.

I did all the things on list but mopping. Plus hubby cooked too and got beans ready to can tomorrow.

Let me just say that the porch roof is HEAVY even though its aluminum. lol We moved it back into place but then it was getting hung up on the fascia so we had to move it back out so hubby could fix the problem then we moved it back into place ...again. lol Now he's attaching it to the house. Now that its back he can put the new siding on the bottom part of the house and around the kitchen windows

I made us breakfast ( hubby brunch)
Did a load of dishes
Made cookies
Watered my containers since we haven't had rain for a few days now
Ran some data cleaning, trouble shooting and did a vulnerability scan on both the pc and the laptop ( which took some time)
Now I'm making supper and plan on doing some reading afterwards
Have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. annual gyn testing (ugh)
And I might hit the grocery store on the way home too, get that out of the way. They have a special on some protein pancake mix I want to get. supposedly 15 grams of protein per pancake per pancake. 36 carbs each. so one pancake, one fried egg(1 carb) on top, couple small sausage patties( 0 carbs) and a large cup of tea and I'll be stuffed until lunch lol

@SheepDog we use Cutlass M but also goes by many other names for weeds. It is a selective weed killer and doesn't kill grass and kills termites too on your wooden fence and house stumps as well for an added benefit. If you have grazing animals just check the label as it has a withholding period. We found it is good on all the nasty persistent weeds here including verbena. We use the strongest dilution on the stubborn weeds.

Worth looking into as it works really well.

In our back we have a large fenced area we call the pen, because that’s what it was for something to a previous owner. The pen is where I stockpile bricks, scavenged lumber, fencing etc. It’s been a hodgepodge since we started piling stuff there.

Using some pallets that I stapled landscape fabric to the bottom of, I began organizing it all.got about half way through. Now to do the piles of lumber.

Not only will I be able to find things, it looks better too.

Round 1 of today is DH and I have both done a load of washing each and hung it on the clothesline to dry and watered the new garden beds with some of the grey water to get some water into them. DH has started cutting the wool batts to fit in the gaps that remain around the full insulation batts we have put in. Having lunch now and then we will get dressed in our work clothes and put up the cut batts so far that we have in the gaps in the ceiling.

Got through the topcoat without any rain. When they got here this morning they asked me how bad the rain was here. I said I didn't see any and that all we got was some dew this AM. About ten minutes drive from here there was enough rain that the water was to the top of the hubcaps. The sky was threatening much of the day but the sealcoat is dry enough to walk on so rain doesn't matter.

A stirrup hoe when they are small and a shovel when they aren't is what we use.

@Tank-Girl not sure if you are in the US or Aus. If in the US, you might put an add on Craigslist asking if there is anyone who has some jars they would be willing to part with. If you offer to pay, they might just give them to you. Often times, folks just want to know they are appreciated. I know they are an investment, but that's a chunk of change. If your across the pond - Gumtree? Hope you get your teeth taken care of without anyone else trying to poison you.
@Sewingcreations15 6+ degrees is a lot! And if you are still adding insulation to nooks and crannies, it will just be that much better. Hope DHs surgery heals quickly.
@MoBookworm1957 It's difficult to part with some things but is so nice once it's done - like pulling off a band aid. Good luck.
@SheepDog Goatheads? You need a child with a bicycle to ride all over. Those tires collect them like magnets. I remember as a kid sitting and picking them out of my tires.
We were gone over the weekend so have done 2 loads of wash, did floors, dishes, and a few things outside before and after work. Have slept well the past couple nightso_O

Thank you LL.
I Ehlers Danlos Syndrome which makes my teeth chalky and brittle. They break at the drop of a hat. I will be eating and all of a sudden I have grit in my mouth and it will be a tooth that has crumbled.
I get my jars from here. 120 jars will cost me $260 with no postage which is an awesome price for Australia. https://www.aussimasonpreservingjars.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&path=149&product_id=668f

@Tank-Girl I don't think I have ever seen canning jars here on gumtree or in garage sales they seem to be extinct here to buy secondhand.

@LadyLocust canning jars are almost impossible to find secondhand here as I don't think many people can here in Australia. I am glad you can find them in the United States though. Tank-Girl is in Australia.

Round 2 of today is that we went into the ceiling cavity and laid the cut wool ceiling batts but still have another half to finish it off tomorrow and looks like we will two bags of insulation left over that we will take back to the hardware store for a refund.

We went and got more firewood from the back lean-to shed and brought it up to the house for our stockpile as we were getting low. Then we took the two loads of washing off the clothes line. We both just had nice warm showers and started the fireplace again as it is expected to get to 2 oc tomorrow morning. I used our field wound dressing packs in our medical kit to clean (sodium chloride) and disinfect and dress DH's ear where a growth was removed from and put on a butterfly clip on to hold it together and an island dressing and another growth on his leg and did the same.
