Good gun show today, but the Rocky Mtn folks put it on and they charge a big cover to get in..$9 per person with NRA. They had two large rooms open, and we had lunch there..a great bratwurst with sauerkraut and german potatoes stand. With strudel for dessert. No diet for me today. We bought some ammo, some medical stuff, some treats: red chili jerky, green chili popcorn, and a chocolate gun for granddaughter. Did a couple of raffles. Someone grabbed the microphone and started singing the National Anthem. Granddaughter was impressed that hundreds of people stood quiet at attention, hand over their heart, hats removed. She said that only her and one other student get up for the flag salute at school. The rest just sit and talk through it. Disgraceful for 7th graders. In New Mexico they insist on English and Spanish flag salute. I did see a real pretty handgun, a Colt 45 with a nice blue grip, match barrel. With a discount, they wanted 899. for it.

Oh yeah, it's amazing. It's quiet this time of the year. There were guided tours inside the caves today, but not many people, which is nice for those who don't like crowds.

@gumpy even with the restrictions you have, you have way more freedom in terms of firearms than we do. I am liscenced for restricted and no restricted firearms but carrying a handgun is out, you can basically transport to and from the range. Long gone are the days of my youth where yo7 could leave your rifles and shotguns in the pickup when you went to #chool b3caus3 you hunted before or after class. I guess I have firearm envy

Thanks Kevin but the restrictions don't come from the government! It comes from my pocketbook. Lol! She (@Amish Heart ) just got me drooling over guns that I can't afford. Not if I want to finish this house.

Mammoth would be interesting. I was in a large cave in a communist country in SE Asia that the Americans repeatedly bombed. It was large enough to hold a entire hospital, a substantial military unit and more. Only having hand held flashlights we did not see much except darkness and space that staggered the mind.

I don't know yet. Summer is to hot here. Maybe spring and fall though. I'll have to think about it. I like the idea!

Hello everyone . A stinking hot 39 oc so needless to say no gardening work was done.

Last night I saw some E vouchers on sale on eBay for our local supermarket that we get most of our groceries from. They had a $350 voucher for $300 so I purchased 1 which will give us a discount of a little over 16% off our groceries and this will go a long way to us being able to stock most of our most commonly remaining groceries tp a 12 month level. We have been working on this for a few years so it will be good to get it done.

That of course led to the where are we going to put it all so we spent most of the day vacuum sealing blanket, sheets and others to get them into the linen cupboard and on top of the medical cupboard. Half of these were sitting on top of the other gorilla shelf where we will be stocking the newly acquired groceries. I also purchased storage buckets ahead of time so have some sitting there waiting.

In between this DH put on a load of washing, hung it on the line and brought it back in and I watered the flower gardens on one side of house and half of the lawn with saved grey water from our showers and washing machine.

Sitting down relaxing under the fan and will shortly have refreshing showers.

Ah yes we have those too, well I should say having everything within reasonable budget constraints. DH and I are doing the same as yourself having designed our own home and still working out what features we want within our budget too. There is always compromises .

We are dealing with a bully right now. Found out last week that a brother and sister pair are beating up on Roo. They are about 9 and 10 and they think they are so tough for beating up a 6 year old everyday. It gets worse. The older brother thinks it is okay to goose Roo daily! K contacted the school last week and the principle said they'd look in to it then got upset when I kept Roo home from school to help her feel safe.

I think if it happens again I'm pulling Roo from the school. I already have K's confidence to homeschool her after this year is over.

Kids are reaping the complacent seeds we have sown. What they are learning in school now 50 years wasn't even talked about in private by most people.
This is not about teachers either it is about the absent of parents being involved with their childrens education.
Even 5 yr olds are taught how to have sex with every crevice in their body.
My great grand son got attacked by a minority, if it had of been other way around it would have been a hate crime .
This trickle down liberal agenda is finally reaching the libs whos children are also paying for our apathy.

Hello everyone and I hope you have all had a good day .

Today we did a bit more decluttering and organising and vacuum sealed all of our clothing in the 2nd pantry/medical/dressing room as we needed to make more room for a big grocery order we have coming. I purchased a $350 E Voucher on the internet for groceries from one of our local supermarkets for $300 saving us 16.66% off the price of our groceries .

I put in the order today which will be here on Friday and used it for items that never come on special here being the basics being rolled oats, flour, cocoa, freezer bags, tinned tomatoes, tinned champignon mushrooms, and tinned fruits and it will arrive Friday. This will get us to a 12mths supply of flour, rolled oats and freezer bags, a 4mth supply of tinned fruit, tinned tomatoes and champignons. Still away to go but we are getting there and we do have 12mths supply of all our personal care, medical and toiletries in stock. Not bad for living in a 100 sq metre 100+ year workers cottage.

Also got an email from our real estate agent with some very creative accounting loosing a whole weeks rent on us that we have paid so as we are going into town tomorrow armed with bank statements etc showing the rent transfers to rectify with the situation. This isn't the first time they have done this that we have had to rectify a problem with them.

Just had about 3 - 4mm of rain that has cooled it off from our 37 oc day.

Apart from that we haven't got much else accomplished but will wash up the dirty dishes/clean kitchen benches and wash up soon.

Getting ready for work. First time since my foot surgery. Just some recertification for my nursing stuff. Lot of sitting, but a much needed break from my house and hubby (God love him, but he's making me crazy!). He needs the break from me, too!

Very true but words are different than being physically abused. Roo is getting beat up and groped not called names. No one has the right to put their hands or feet on another person! I have a right to protect my child from being inappropriately touched by anyone! Next time it happens I am bringing the police with me to the school.

Grimm, 2 stood outside restroom door and one 12 or 13 Y.O. black kid beat on my 7 Y.O. G-Grandson. Because he was too smart and very white. I put it up a couple months ago when it happened.
BLM and Antifa are not just in the streets they are in our schools and work places too.

I've never condoned violence or retaliation but if someone harmed one of my kids I'd bring the police to make sure I didn't do great bodily harm to someone! My blood pressure goes up just thinking about it. Whatever it takes to put a stop to it don't tolerate it for a second! IMHO!

I was a tomboy, only girl raised with boys and I was the oldest so they would hide and at night when I went to lay with my donkey they would attack me. My aunt had 2 little girls who were no fun to me. They always got hurt playing with us bigger kids. Bucked off of donk fractured skull, tree hut falling on them or almost drowning in lake. My aunt wouldn't let them anywhere near me.
