I'm no sports fan, either. Never have been.

Electric out from 1:45 am Saturday morning until 6:30 pm Saturday evening. Restful day!

Today, Church and then to local grocery for chicken sale. Need to grind some more into burger. I do go through that, quickly! Back to Church this eve and watch some tv. Mixed up more ground ginger and honey as that seems to be working well for DH and I both for arthritis!

What happens in the electric box (or flat screen) has no affect on my life. Haven't had TV for nearly 20 years. NFL is just one more good reason not to have one. Last football game I saw was when my son was a Sr. A couple years ago.
The wind blew so hard yesterday, we didn't have internet most the day. Today we went up one side of the mountain to get some organic specialty bread. Near whiteout conditions- @Sentry18 you would have loved it. Then up another side of the mt. to check on the house and get our mail. Home now and ate supper. Might have to stitch for a bit.

Well, Sewing, here I gripe about annoying roosters coming after me, and the occasional coyotes and raccoons!
Yeah, I have one of those nasty roosters as well, I knocked him silly a while back and he pretty much stays away from me, however I still don't trust him and when I deal with the chickens, I always carry my walking stick. We seldom see coyotes around, but a young raccoon took a number of my chickens out, I ended up covering vent windows and the exposed rafter ends with 1/8" wire cloth. Truth is, even with an occasional cougar coming around, Australia still has us outnumbered with very bad creatures. The firefighters in our forests deal with rattlesnakes now and then, thing is, they are nothing compared to the snakes and spiders in Australia and to think that when I was in the Air Force in the mid 1960's I was considering moving there, as much as I have hiked all over the place, if I had been down there I probably have ran across all the deadly creatures.

I don't watch it either (NFL football), but I do watch a little baseball.
I forgot about all that anti America, anti flag, anti stand while we sing crap, cuz I was never a fan. I catch stats online when I care about a score and that wasn't until this season. I don't have regular tv to be able to catch it there either. But I understand why some of you are touchy about it cuz I am too. And I never understood the purpose of such a game. Just brutal anyway, most of the time.

I like football, baseball, NCAA B-ball, Motorsports, golf...shoot, I like most any sport. I still watch it, regardless of political stuff. The only thing I don't watch at all is the NBA. Quite frankly, compared to college b-ball it's boring...
Just to clarify, golf is not a sport. There is no defense. Now if there was someone to block that ball- might be interesting.

Golf is hard enough without somebody playing defense!:D

And why isn't it a sport? Just because you can smoke and get drunk while you're doing it? That just adds to the level of difficulty, doesn't it? ;)

New water softener install today.
Original Kenmore softener is 23 years old. First resin tank failed at 9 years 364 days, one day before the warranty expired.
13 years on the second resin tank, figure I'm pushing my luck.
New softener will be a Hellenbrand Pro-mate 6.0
Local Mom & Pop store sold it to me and will be doing the install.
Salt tank will be locate in the garage. No more hauling salt bags from the garage, wash room, kitchen, down the stairs, through the family room to the furnace room!

That's amazing. I got 14 years out mine and was thrilled. According to our plumber (who also goes to our church) new hot water heaters are made to last a decade or less.

Yesterday when we went up the mountain, we watched for the elk. We typically have a couple thousand roaming the hills this time of year. We saw about 250-300. We have only seen maybe half dozen deer which are usually everywhere all year long. Wolves and cougars are taking their toll on game. So many don't want to admit that wolves decrease the heard sizes, but I wonder just what they think they eat.

Did anybody else feel like last week was the longest week of the year? After all of the holidays; using up the last few vacation days; the first full week back feels like a month. Now we settle into the old work routine. This week won't seem as bad. I try to forget that we will not have another holiday until the end of May; the longest stretch of the year.

I'm with Spikedriver here. I watch most sports except the NBA. My interest has waned over the years, but I will watch most games at least for a short time. There will always be an argument about Golf being a sport, or an activity. Having done it, I would vote for sport. As Spike driver said it has it's own level of difficulty, plus the side benefits. Even if you are riding in a cart you will be hiking several miles during the round, especially if you play the way I do. I don't think the Israelites that wandered in the desert for forty years walked as much as I do during a round of Golf.

I’m sick, bad sick. I think it’s Monday, don’t quote me… I was proud, no flu or cold in at least a decade. Hang out in ICU for a week and it’s bound to happen. When ICU nurses scream at you “Put on a Mask!” You know you’re sick. I tried to drive home during 2 concurrent tornado warnings. “Can you say “stupid” I think that was Saturday. I made it home though.

All my bread, my pie, all the fruit in my fridge is molded… how long does it take for bread or fruit to mold? Might tell me how long I’ve been sick.

Sometime in the last few days I checked for a fever… 102.1, yep, I’m sick.

My niece brought me lemonade and a bottle of aspirin, She set it on my porch… No point in taking whatever I have back to the ICU. I’m feeling better. Ate some yogurt, definitely feeling better.

No words, @Peanut , glad you're a little better, now get a lot better.

As for the topic of sports, I was just reading @Morgan101 post and realizing I don't watch a whole lot of sports any more. I'll watch any kind of game if it's on while I'm in the gym, or at the bar/restaurant, or in the airport...otherwise, all I see are the highlights on the news or the internet. I hadn't realized how little I actually see games any more until I read this thread. Strangely, I blame the internet. It's so easy to just check in every few minutes to see how the game is going, and you can check on every single game that's happening and get notifications when big plays happen. You don't even have to watch the boring plays any more...Plus the whole, I have a kid thing kind of throws a kink into my sports fanaticism. I've only played golf 3 times in the last 13 years. Guess who is 13 years old? ;)

Geez, what a day so far. I spoke with one state rep in the House that represents a small sliver of our county, I sat down with another House rep over coffee this morning, I have spoken with our county prosecutor, I have called all 9 of our county commissioners, I called the Sheriff's office waiting to hear back, I called my Senate rep waiting to hear back.

So far so good, all of whom I have discussed the 2A sanctuary status with is on board and supportive.

Whew. 2 more contacts in the que, then I can draw up a resolution and get it submitted. Then next Tuesday at 7 PM I will go to the county commissioner meeting to get this thing up and voted on.

As it stands right now, I do believe we will achieve sanctuary status for my county. 82 more counties to go!

@Peanut bone infection sounds very serious. Your dad sounds like a tough cookie tho.

Patchouli is right, it is very serious. Dad has osteomyelitis in his spine.

The worst part of being sick, my niece has been making the decisions the past few days. I HAVE got to get back on my feet and correct any problems she's caused.

Oh! good news, fever dropped below 100 this afternoon. @Sewingcreations15 Out of curiosity, how are oral thermometers incremented down under?

@Peanut I figured you were just busy with your dad. You aren't allowed to be sick. Get yourself better I tell ya.
@Curmudgeon Awesome of you to go through the process (strike that) "trouble' just so the dozer doesn't mow over you.
@hiwall I put "like" on your post, but I don't like it at all. Not one little bit. Makes me rather sick actually.

Gee , I take a day off and everybody is ailing.

I have a stupid head cold also.
Curmudgeon is going strong..good luck you .

Spike seems healthy

,Amish...Sneezy , like me.

Lady Locust is being mother hen...cool.

Peanut...just get well, you got responsibility, you can't be sick.:)

I think Mobook is progressing/healing nicely ...I hope.

Today has just been...do nothing..feel crappy...day.

Y'all all have a fine evening.

Jim

Went to the city. Had breakfast, got groceries, some stuff at the hardware store, filled a couple of propane bottles and just got home. I'm beat. I'd like to say I'm done for the week but we still have to go up to ABQ Thurs for the kids electrophyiologist apt and meet her newest Doc.
