Where do I begin? I spent a week with dad in the ICU. The morning I started getting sick I had run home and did all my laundry and repacked clothes for another week. That evening I knew I was getting sick… once again trying to sleep in that god-awful chair beside his bed... I woke up twice during the night, thought I might have a little fever.

I woke about 8am and I was SICK!. I knew I just had to get out of there. It took forever to pack my few items. I got to my truck and called my niece (Mrs reliable), of course she couldn’t come and sit with dad.

Other than driving home with tornado warning sirens blaring I don’t remember much except the radio kept saying there were 2 tornadoes on the ground. The next 2 days were a blur. I didn’t eat but my cooler had plenty of water and lemonade. And Jimmy Dean, it seemed every time I woke up during those 2 days there was a Jimmy Dean commercial on the tv, I had lost the remote and couldn’t change the channel. I will never in my life eat anything with Jimmy Dean on the package.

Monday afternoon I began picking up my disaster of a house, I think I picked up and moved 2 items… tues… a few more and so on! I only have one load of laundry to do tonight.

On 01Jan I bought a new stove (delivery on the 23rd). Today I got the LP conversion kit ordered, be here before the stove. Garbage has to go out tomorrow, a neighbor is buying my groceries also.

I’ve still got a long way to go just remembering all the side projects I had going much less completing them. Still a way to go getting over this flu…

That nastyflu is going around now Peanut, hope your well soon.As usual we pray for all our loved ones and our friends here. Don't push yourself too hard.:huggs:

@Meerkat they have set up wildlife veterinary clinics in tents and have many vets and wildlife carers looking after them and most of the wildlife carers are inundated with burned, dehydrated and sick wildlife. So great to see everyone pulling together and lots of vets traveling interstate to work in the worst affected bush fire areas. Other drought affected areas and there are lots just trying to keep their stock alive and help our local wildlife where they can.

I know there are lots of our neighbours putting out water and food for the local wildlife. Many kangaroos/wallabies have been put down by the local police officer as they are in too poor of a condition to save due to malnutrition and lack of water.

Glad you are not far away from having your eyes fixed it will make such a difference to you.

Glad you have a good doctor now @Terri9630 and good that you can call him whenever if you are worried and for help if needed.

It's definitely a relief to have an interested Dr. Of course the kid just couldn't wait to ask her 2 very important questions. Is it safe for her to fly to Florida this fall and can she ride roller coasters!

She was mostly happy with his answers. He said she needed to use a wheelchair to try to prevent fainting/falling, avoid the heat and getting exhausted and to check her heart rate before getting on the coasters. If its above 100 then she shouldn't get on because the adrenaline will cause her heart rate to jump up. We are going in Oct so the heat shouldn't be to bad.

@Spikedriver ..my wife was driving 77 mph..
That guy went by us like a bullet...I made her get behind him so I could get that pic...90 mph.
Crazy hillbillies.

@Peanut ....will you knock it off and get over that crap and get yourself back to normal,
I may need some help up my way , I got work needin doin... :D

We all got to get over all these illnesses..
@backpacker, that goes for you too.

You think we're just passing it around to each other cyberly ?

Thanks everyone for the prayers and concern. @Sewingcreations15 sort of funny the dreams I have when I run a high fever. I had this dream. You were selling hand carved wooden trains for toddlers here in the forum. They were really cute. MO was knitting little jackets for each engine to keep it warm.

Each of the little people/passengers was a round ball and they rolled as the train moved. Each ball had more than one face so every time the train stopped the passengers were different... The caboose was a rattlesnake tail with 13 rattles.

I bought one from you but the really strange part... as it shipped around the world a passenger would fall off the train in each country the package stopped in.... I spent days trying to find all the passengers. Finally someone lifted a corner of the world so they all rolled down to the low end and I could scoop them up. It's been a while since I had a dream so vivid.

If you are a wood carver you would sell a bunch of them, cutest kids toy I ever saw.

Alright everybody get over this crud.
Jim, Meerkat, you two get heart healthy, eyes healthy.
Peanut, I would be happy to knit little jackets for toys.
Not sure about knitting little jackets for trains though.
Terri, hope your kid gets to enjoy her trip and ride her roller coasters.
It's 0230 hours and I can't sleep go figure.
Spikedriver, like the comment about Missouri chrome.
Everybody get healthy.
Has anybody heard from timmie?

The schools here have a two hour delayed start because of snow today, so no one is up yet. Honestly, it's not that bad. But am surprised the schools didn't call it because it's already a 3 day weekend with MLK day on Monday. I see 3" of snow on the ground this morning, and it's supposed to warm up a lot this afternoon.
Husband has allergy shots today, and then we'll go to lunch. Three more weeks till he retires and he is not handling it well.
Worried about Timmie. Wasn't the last we heard she was in the hospital and worried about losing her leg?

Didn’t realized my Nest smoke detectors were on WiFi #2. They went off line when I added password protection to WiFi #2. Spent most of last evening and this morning to get them back on line.

Detectors email me if they are activated and communicate with the furnace thermostat to turn the furnace fan off if there is an alarm.

Terri sounds like you have found a GEM of a Dr. Not many will let you call them 24/7. My wife has found 2 of those over the years and I wouldn't trade them for anything. Hope the meds can keep things under control for her and she will outgrow it. Prayers going up.

Peanut, you've been thru the mill. Like LL said rest up and get your self built back up. The stuff going around right now seems very resilent. Gotta be your best to fight it off. Otherwise your no good for yourself, let alone those your trying to help out. Prayers going up for you as well.

Prayers for all the others on here that are going thru anytype of medical issues for healing. There are so many I'm not gonna try and name you all because I know I'll forget some of you.

Just checking my cheese supply for the possible upcoming "festivities"

Doctor appointment got cancelled.
Transportation cancelled.
Both doctor's appointment and transportation rescheduled for Tuesday at 1100 hours.
I"m cold.
We got ice, icy rain but no snow yet.
Schools are closed.
Strawberry is in Parkville, Mo this week.
She's with another one of her big brothers, Jake.

MoBook hope you warm up soon, maybe an electric blanket?

Thanks, but I'll get warm soon enough.
I'll go to bed.
I sweat too much for electric blanket.
Wouldn't feel safe, would be worried I would short circuit it out with either seizure or sweat.

Inflammation caused me to have the fever chills off and on for 3-4 weeks.

Get better..let it heal...don't do too much.

This morning, I did 35 minute exercise video, bought gasoline, went to Walmart for a couple of things, local grocery for pineapples (99 cents each) to can, thrift shops, visited with friend at nursing home, looked for turnip seeds and rutabagas-- everybody is out. Finally got home and kid came to help with clean out in shed 15 minutes later. Got all that done and a few outside chores. I'm exhausted! Almost 16,000 steps so far! I think I'm about done.
