Oh my goodness Spike we didn't know what it was like till we were seated.:ghostly:. I don't like real violent movies. I think that was our last attempt at movie going too. Its been years now.
Yeah, that movie was so violent it was almost cartoonish. The sequel was even more so. I still thought it was fun though, once you view it as being like a superhero movie, and not a serious film...

Tired… 11am meeting with hospital care coordinator concerning dad. My niece picked up my mom early and they made a couple of stops before the meeting.

It was the first-time mom had seen dad since I took him to the ER on the 5th. It was the first time I’d seen him since getting the flu on 11th. He was in good spirits, having a good day.

He still isn’t well enough for any kind of rehab… It was decided (with his doctors blessing) he’d be moved to a regular room on the floor in the next couple of days. It would allow us to stay with him 24/7 and take a far more active role in his care.

So, I stopped at a sporting goods store and bought a nice cot. Hopefully this will allow us to get good rest when staying with him. The reason I got the flu… I’d been up with dad here at home all hours since before Christmas but I was getting some rest in my own bed during the day and had healthy food.

With dad in the ICU I was sleeping in a chair made in the pits of 4ell no one could really sleep in. Aside for a few restless naps I had been up for 6 straight days when I got sick… my body had used up it’s last reserve of energy and health… I had nothing left to fight the flu…

I got a decent cot by coleman… $100 price range. The room will be at 70+ degrees instead of the 66 degrees in the ICU. A small fridge will be moved in so decent food will not be an issue. (the hospital food is substandard).

If at anytime dad takes a turn for the worse or there is some issue the ICU is just down the hall, best of both worlds.

This afternoon I also picked up a few groceries and discovered my favorited produce stand will be closed until late March… darn, no more rolled amish butter until then… guess it’s back to the Irish butter. :(

@Terri9630 that's a lot of maters! You're gonna be the salsa queen :)
The last movie I saw in a theater was the return of the chipmunks when my kids were little. Can't tell you what the last movie I saw was its been so long.

I'm not going to plant them all at once!!

I also found a pkt of asparagus and 2 pkts of kale. No idea where they came from I gave them to the neighbor.

^^^ I'm taking my daughter to the movies tonight. As a matter of fact we just got into the theater. We're seeing "Cats". It's appropriate because she's a crazy cat lady in training...

Have a good time with the daughter .

Thank goodness Peanut,no more sleeping in chairs. Glad your father is feeling better.:great:

Went to Wal*Mart this afternoon.
First time being out except for Doctor's appointments, Physical Therapy.
Got me a proper fitting winter coat for $15.
Monthly supplies etc.
As nice as it was to get out, it was nicer to get home so I could rest some.
Got the bit of groceries put away.
Still watching it snow.
Tentatively Strawberry will be home this weekend.

I know that will be a very joyful reunion for both of you.:)

Yay! Strawberry is going to be so happy to see you and I'm guessing the reverse true as well :doghouse:

@Peanut Glad you are getting rested up and were able to see your dad. Those cots are surprisingly comfortable, but just take a blanket rather than a sleeping bag. The bags slide on the canvas and pretty soon you're sliding off the end. Don't ask me how I know that :ghostly:

Nighty night sweety!

Yesterday I deep cleaned the bathrooms and toilet and because we had some extra rainwater saved in our swimming pool I deep cleaned the rest of the rumpus room, the downstairs laundry, the bathroom upstairs, cleaned the outside of the double glass sliding door downstairs, one of the rumpus room windows and cleaned about a 3 metre siding that had mould on it around one side of the home. DH was finalising the end of year paperwork for the RSL and sending final details to the accountant. She said he had done well for the first year and gave him a few pointers to help him out.

In the afternoon we went to the RSL and had a few soft drinks and had some good chats with friends down there and DH and I dropped off the final paperwork for the yearly RSL auditing to the accountant who was having lunch down at the pub.

Today we went to a small country town and picked up some groceries we had ordered and some additional specials and went to another small supermarket to pick up more specials on some cereal and watermelon that they had. Pretty much done the monthly shopping now apart from topping up on some fresh fruit earlier next month.

This afternoon dated, rotated and put groceries away and dinner was rump steak, eggs and fried mushrooms we brought on sale today.

went and checked the mail. I
My turnip seeds came yesterday in the mail! Yay!

The room will be at 70+ degrees instead of the 66 degrees in the ICU
I would have to take an electric throw. I get so cold! So glad he is getting better!

Tentatively Strawberry will be home this weekend.
I know you will both be so happy!!!

The flood insurance saga continues. Newest thing is that I have to contact FEMA and request an updated flood certification. Mortgage company says they can't talk to FEMA. I think that is not correct.

Have a good day you all!

Well....seems that some or most of our crowd here is doing better, at least improving. GREAT.

Dreary old Saturday here, drizzly, cloudy, 37 degree.
Not gonna do much today.

Just sit around and fill my shopping cart on Amazon with niknak stuff for Boo.;):)

Will take my bride out to lunch somewhere.

May watch her replenish the firewood box...

Watching Andy and Barney for a bit.

Y'all have a wonderful Saturday.

Jim

So I spent most of the morning in the man cave working on guns. I fit a new match-grade barrel into my former M&P Shield Performance Center then added a new set of Trijicon HD XR sights. Now this gun belongs to the Mrs. Then I fitter a new barrel into a M&P 9mm police trade it and tried to add a set of Truglo Tritium Pro sights, but the front sight cut is out of spec (on the large side). So I tried sight after sight from my spare parts bin until I found a Warren Tactical front tritium sight that fight snug enough that I needed a sight pusher to get it in place. Then I swapped out the P365 grip module for a P365 XL grip module. Then I used a laser bore sighter to get my latest AR-15 build ready for the range. Of course that all resulted in a period of clean up in the man cave as well.

After that I cleaned out the refrigerator, washed out the produce drawer, washed out the garbage cans and recycling can (kitchen and bathrooms), and then cleaned & sanitized the kitchen. I finished up just in time for the groceries to be delivered which I promptly put away. Now I am going to sit on my butt and watch something on TV.

Strawberry got away from sitter yesterday.
Her sons and several neighborhood boys canvassed the neighborhood looking for her for several hours.
Where was she while everybody out looking for her.
Sitter left garage door cracked, front door opened.
She had a good run for several hours.
She was in her kennel snoring.
She is staying another two weeks.
She's enjoying herself, building muscle, burning energy.
But more than anything sitter's sons don't have as much time for video games.
Because Strawberry has energy to burn, the oldest boy takes her on cross country runs.
Laundry is washed, dried and put away.
Just watching tv, exercising.
Maybe nap later.

Glad Strawberry was found!
I'm talking a relaxing moment. Helped the grandkids take down a chicken run. Salvaged the chain link panels. Took off the netting, and underwire. Took about 10 wheelbarrels of dirt out and returned the area to a normal looking planter area. Feeling old. I haven't shoveled and wheelbarrelled in a long time.
Waiting for a handyman to come by to look at some of the house repairs that need doing. Then husband is going to get the newest shingles shot. Our daughter is working today, so she'll give it to him. I told him he's going to feel awful all week, but oh well. I'm not getting it.
Granddaughter is getting ready for the winter dance with a friend, and will be leaving shortly to do that, and to have a meal together. Not a boyfriend, our dating age is 16, and she's only 14. The girl's mom will be taking photos of them, too. Grandson will need to be dropped off at the dance at 8 tonight. It goes till 11, so we're having to stay up late.

I slept most of today, got a good 8hrs last night, had a big lunch then crashed for another couple of hours. Between the flu and CFS I haven't slept good in a week, needed today badly.

Talked to dads nurse in the ICU. They are still waiting on his xfer orders, couple of people ahead of him on the list, just waiting for open beds on the floor. I have everything ready to stay a week when they do move him.

I'm thinking I'll go ahead and buy a small fridge for his room. It'll be handy when we do get him home for keeping his drinks ready and not mixed up with everything in the large fridge.

I got a few things done today which is good. I made a batch of soap for laundry soap - lemon Rosemary. Also made a batch of candles since I was almost out. The weather was perfect for it - right about 50*. So this batch turned out better than the last - it was pretty warm when I made the last batch. Got 4 spaghetti squash cleaned and cooked. Will put that on the dehydrator in the morning. Also got a few more quilt blocks stitched - now have 51 of 136 needed. Now sitting and browsing:)

MY are you the busy lady. Good for you LadyL. :great::thumbs:

Sipping coffee, walking, exercise.
Rearranging furniture by my recliner so have more room to walk, exercise.
I'm scooting the furniture.
Got Italian sausage thawing for supper.
That will give me 3 or 4 meals beings I don't eat much.
I scooted 1 chair, so I could sit in recliner with right leg propped up on said chair.
While leg was up, did flex exercises.
Sat in recliner or scooted chair used swiffer to dust floors.
Feel like I accomplished something today.
Even if it's just rearranging yarn baskets under furniture.
