Some lite housekeeping today, vacuumed the carpets. I waited for the call about my new stove which didn't come, didn't really expect it to. I didn't call them... aggravation I didn't need today.

Mom said dad slept through his birthday. He had physical therapy first thing which left him grumpy when not sleeping. I decided not to go down this evening... just let him rest. I'll stop by the big box store about my stove in the morning and let them know what I think. Afterwards I'll go sit with dad a few hours, get some groceries on the way home.

This evening... watching some old dvd's.

@MoBookworm1957 So you're right footed eh? :). When do you get to go back to bingo? Me thinks you should go win.
Would love to go Tuesday night.
But have not been released to drive yet?
See Primary Care Doctor Friday.
Otherwise see Surgeon 21 Feb 2020.
Might see if oldest son wants to go Tuesday.

made my first home made raviolis from scratch today.

Cheyenne in January would not be my first choice, but I guess you gotta go where you gotta go. My only trip to Wyoming was Jackson Hole. Breathtakingly beautiful, and I always wanted to go back. Not in January. They told me Wyoming has two seasons: Winter and August.

We're out at the junction of I-25 and I-80 near the Down Home Diner.

I guess that would put you right near the railroad! Love that town and the people. And the Tortilla Factory- if it's still there on South Greely! I waitressed 6 summers at the Senator's Steakhouse on the Terry Bison Ranch.

This morning the wife ask me why she can't send emails on the home computer or her smart phone? She said it started the first part of December.

With two separate devices in the mix it leads me to believe it's her service provider. Send her provider a email asking if her account is blocked from sending emails. While I'm waiting on a reply...

...I deleted her account on the home PC and reinstalled. Test fails. Looks like the password the wife gave me is incorrect. Another email to her provider asking to confirm the password. The manager of her email provider and I have work close over the years. Hopefully he will bypass security protocol and confirm he password for me.

My grandmother passed away about 3 this morning, 2 months before her 100th birthday. Sort of funny… she and grandpa had a bet their whole lives who would live to be 100. Grandpa made it to 87. Several of grandma’s sisters made it to 100. I guess neither made it. They raised 10 good kids who succeeded in life… Tentative for funeral on Saturday.

Dad got moved out of ICU to a room about 4am this morning. I’ll go down there this afternoon and stay with him. Niece is there now.

My new stove is still missing. I called this morning and was promised once again… this time for delivery on the 30th. Doesn’t matter, won’t have time to cook this week anyway. Time to get a big bucket of chicken to stick in mom's fridge. Sort of funny, KFC is a christmas dinner tradition in Japan. KFC is a funeral tradition in the south.

Today, I contacted FEMA and had application emailed. The tutorial to help with the application is 67 pages. Yikes! Tomorrow we are going to talk to our local insurance agent and then maybe a real estate attorney that we know. We are trying to just keep doing the next right thing.

I'm very sorry to hear about your Grandma. My condolences to you and your family.

Update - password was reset and the wife's email account is backup and running.

Peanut, so sorry about your grandmother.
Am pleased that your dad is finally in a room and not in ICU.
Lazy L, glad you got your wife's emails back up and running.
Spikedriver, be safe.
Double R, those ravolia look good.
Jim, glad you got to tinker presumably on new toy car.
I went for a walk this morning out at Wal*Mart.
Picked up some produce, light jacket for in the house.
As I am always cold these days.
Got half my steps in for the day so far.
New goal is 500 steps while I build back up stamina.
Taking it easy.

@Peanut , that's a sad time, my grandma died when I got home from army , before I got to see her. Bout killed me. My heart goes out to ya my friend.

Great news that your dad is slightly improving... hopefully he'll be up and about soon.

@MoBookworm1957 , yes it was the new car.. just need to get and stay busy after almost 6 months on my tail.

I enjoy piddling, tinkering, fiddle farting so much.

Jim

After Roo finished her school work I ran to the dentist office to set up a payment plan for K's oral surgery he had last night. I know we'll pay it off early but having a plan set up gives us the option should something else drop on us. He has bone loss in his jaw due to his years of smoking.. Our insurance covered 75% of the bill but the remaining balance was a bit more than I could pay cash right there. Roo is going to need braces so I am starting a cash dental bill fund to cover the orthodontic bills. Maybe I need to start one for K's mouth too! That man has a filling done or redone every year plus treatments for his gums and now the bone marrow transplant in his jaw.

We picked up an Ikea kitchenette for the breakfast nook. Now the girls will stop trashing my dining room table when they eat! The dining room set is similar to the set my parents have except we have the leaf and extra chairs for it. The Ikea set has two leaves that can fold down and make it a 2 seater if space becomes an issue in the future. I have been eyeing this set for the craft room for years but since the move I needed to think on functional for the family not just what I want. I am really trying to stop accumulating junk that has not use or is only for the house we live in now.

Still have lots of boxes in the garage to finish going through and junk to get rid of. If the weather stays warm I might have to pack up my winter wear for the season. Lord knows I need the room in my closet. Time to make a run to Goodwill with clothes and shoes.

Dropped off our taxes at the tax preparer's place this morning
while in town I got some meat and produce specials at the grocery store
clean sheets on the bed and I went ahead and washed the blanket and quilt and dried them so they could go back on the bed
bought a uv light sanitizer wand online.I plan to use it to sanitize the remotes that hubby handles and some other things. I figure thats how I catch what he brings home most of the time lol door knobs and such I can use wipes
also bought some extra dehydrating screens ( cut to size) for my Excalibur
It was 44 here today but it was so bone chilling for some reason. hardly any wind so I don't know why it feels so much colder than 44. might be me. I've been cold inside and outside for some time now

I’m going to be in trouble!

I went through the wash room closet and pulled out the coats that I no longer fit into or wear. Then I did the same for the bedroom closet for my shirts.

Put the coats and shirts in the truck. Tomorrow while I’m in town I’ll drop them off at Goodwill.

Wife would box them up and stack where she can force more room. Then haul them around to garage sales for the next million years.

Sorry to hear about your grandma. They are special people. Still miss mine dearly, after 17 years. My prayers are with you all. Glad your dad finally got a room.

I am the opposite. When I turned 13 I got into weight lifting and found my body was well suited to it. By 17 I joined the national guard and was told I was too heavy even though I had less body fat than anyone they considered to be healthy. When I got employed in corrections I was told I was too heavy "according to the chart" during the department physical even though I had to have my uniform shirts taken in around the midsection. That happened again when I became a Deputy and again at this department. And now every year when I take the required health assessment (physical) they tell me I weigh too much and that I need to lose some weight. Then my health insurance company sends me junk mail about diet tips and other uninformative crap. Drives me nuts.

Thats my problem as well! When I get a shirt that fits my shoulders and chest it has to be taken in. I have to buy xxl to fit the upper side and the rest looks like a trash bag and goes almost to my damn knees!

Got a shock as soon as I got to work this morning. Boss stopped me before I got to the office and told me management had just gave us $150K to purchase and install what is basically a repeater inside on of our facilities. Currently we have a lot of dead spots for the radio system our fire department, and others use. They can't hit the primary repeater due to being partially underground and having massively thick concrete walls. The new system will be spread thru the building and tied into an external antenna so they can get connected to the outside.
I knew this building was on the list of upgrades, but had been led to believe it was lower on the list so I hadn't spent any time looking into what all it will require. Luckily time is not a critical factor with this one. But with the fire department upgrades we are doing, will consume a lot of my available time at work. The radio group is maybe 25 to 35% of the work I have to manage. So I'm now just waiting on the environmental group to spring loose with a bunch of money and want to do a bunch of upgrades. Fun stuff I'm telling you.

@Peanut Sorry to hear of your grandma's passing. Enjoy the time with your dad - glad he's healing.
@backlash You've been quiet lately. What have you been up to? Anything juicy we we should know about ;)@hashbrown two words - taylored shirts. You'll love them. Not sure where you are, but they can be reasonable price wise and far better made (like so many things.)
@Bacpacker Sah- weet! Good deal.
@The Lazy L Me thinks you must have a great deal of patience :)
@WVDragonlady when the kids were little, if anyone started the sniffles, I filled every sink with disinfectant water and washed everything 3' high: backs of chairs, light switches, doorknobs, handles etc.
@snappy1 Good luck - that's all I can say when you're dealing with lawyers and insurance men o_O

Sorry about your grandma, Peanut. She lived a very long life.
So GUARDIANSHIP today!! Hooray! California and New Mexico CPS are now officially out of our business! We celebrated with an ice cream cake after dinner. Granddaughter is pleased, and says it's her Guardianship of her universe. In the world. She adds the last part on a lot.
What did that take, only 5 months? They asked if I had any questions (via email), and I asked if I could get her birth certificate and social security card.
Went to the restaurant supply store today...15 lbs of Wrights Bacon for $53. In the freezer. 20 lbs of 80/20 hamburger for $2.49 lb. Also in the freezer. Bought 20 lbs of lentils, 5lbs of dehydrated scalloped potatoes with cheese powder, big pkts of chocolate pudding.
