@Amish Heart God bless you for all the good things you do for those kids.

@Bacpacker I have no idea what you're talking about, but congratulations!

@Peanut I'm sorry for your grandmother's passing. One of mine lived to be 96. We really do benefit from their stories and wisdom. Blessings for your family during this time of loss and grief.

Congrats @Amish Heart! Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers! At the start of the new year home nursing was switched over to home hospice for grandma by her doctor. We've just been waiting... Lots of fond memories have been on my mind all day...

Sat with dad all afternoon and evening. Got to have a chat with his new physical rehab doctor. I was impressed, he came in, sat down and chatted for a good 20minutes. He took the time to explain everything that had happened in understandable terms... He had a solid plan going forward.

I learned there were 3 meds dad no longer needs and have stopped receiving over the last 10 days. The doc ordered another med change starting tonight, also learned dad had only asked for a shot of Dilaudid once in the past 3 days... All of this is good news. Dad slept most of the time I was there, dreamed a lot which he wasn't doing before, means he's still comfortable, not doped up but he's sleeping naturally. Met dad's new "day sitter" and "night shift sitter", seemed caring and kind.

Stopped a wally's for groceries, only thing open after 9pm. They had two boxes of N-95 masks on the shelf, grabbed those. Started to rain, got home just in time, got the groceries in the house without getting wet. Exhausted, should sleep good tonight.

Oh, stopped at the sporting goods store and got another one of the perfect tackle boxes for tincture bottles.

Me thinks you must have a great deal of patience :)[/USER]

More like knowing how the "system" works in order to bypass it to get things done. I had to do the same at work before I retired.

Meetings to decide when to meet to decide what actions we should take and who would be in charge of each phase of the project just to be over ruled by the procrastinating Owner. Then the butt kissers (excuse my French) are mad at me because my group completed the project while the rest were still carrying coffee cups between meetings.

Tomorrow we are going to talk to our local insurance agent

Insurance agent can't help so will be meeting with attorney soon. Staying home today and doing exercise video as it is cold and rainy. Will help ladies with a project tonight at Church. Going to make more hummus, "nice cream" and chicken burgers.

Man o man , I love Chili..

But, I'm too far away.

So rainy, sleety , cold day again.
I'm happy for @Amish Heart

@Peanut , sounds like things are improving.

I think I bruised some ribs , just leaning over the car on a sharp edge..it's easy to do when you get old er.
Couldn't sleep last night.

It's sore today...no big deal.

May go out for lunch today.

Jim

Made appt. with attorney for tomorrow. Also have to pay land taxes and get one car tag.

No chicken burgers, instead made curried lentils and kale which tastes and smells so much better than it looks! Also blueberry banana nice cream--like ice cream. And caramelized onion hummus to have with celery sticks. Very good! Chicken burgers later in the week.

Brought home a new family member. She's only a week old but her mother dried up.

Sorry about your grandma, Peanut. She lived a very long life.
So GUARDIANSHIP today!! Hooray! California and New Mexico CPS are now officially out of our business! We celebrated with an ice cream cake after dinner. Granddaughter is pleased, and says it's her Guardianship of her universe. In the world. She adds the last part on a lot.
What did that take, only 5 months? They asked if I had any questions (via email), and I asked if I could get her birth certificate and social security card.
Went to the restaurant supply store today...15 lbs of Wrights Bacon for $53. In the freezer. 20 lbs of 80/20 hamburger for $2.49 lb. Also in the freezer. Bought 20 lbs of lentils, 5lbs of dehydrated scalloped potatoes with cheese powder, big pkts of chocolate pudding.
Congratulations!

Got up early before the disgusting heat set in for the day and cut trees down that were hitting the house.

Shut down the water mains to the house and changed out a leaking washer in a tap in the chicken pen.
The sea of putrid stinking mud was nausea inducing and I was very happy to get that job done and out of the way.
These sorts of jobs expose you to all sorts of germs and does your immune system good.

Trying to see the up side of wading through muck.

Changed my mind about chili.
Think I'll make goulash tomorrow after Physical Therapy.
Just something different.
Thinking salmon patties for Saturday.
Sitting here now making out menus for the month of February.
Eating pantry-freezer challenge for the next 30-45 days.
Had a nap too this afternoon- evening still tired though.
Probably have an early night tonight.

Actually I did this yesterday. I gave blood last fall. I went yesterday and they had a sign up for specific needs for each blood time. O neg was red blood cells and they needed 2 donors. All my stats were good and they hooked me up. I was first person there. Turns out the 2nd guy behind me was o neg and he did it too. Took longer but was educational. Since they also replaced fluids with saline I felt great when I left. Cold from the air conditioning and saline though. Did eat cookies and waited for 5 minutes to leave. My arm didn't want to stop bleeding for about 5 minutes. Would do it again. No problems unloading 400 pounds of feed today either. Good choice.

Left work early and went back to the doctor. Same deal as last time. chest x rays and on my ribs (thought I may have broke one coughing so hard) and blood work. Everything was negative again. Gave me another nebulyzer treatment and prescriped a unit and meds for the house. Gotta do that 3 times a day for next 2 weeks. Setting me up with a pulmanary Dr if these treatments don't clear me up. Been dealing with this crap for 6 weeks now. Gonna stay home tomorrow and try to get this underway.

Yesterday I attacked and deep cleaned another cabinet in the kitchen with this one having all the recipe books, DH's junk, tools and lots of paperwork and office stuff. I emptied everything out and DH took all the things off the top of the cabinet and then I went to town and wiped it all down and reorganised it. Boy it was dusty and we threw out a lot of rubbish and moved things like spare light bulbs to the tool cabinet downstairs and I put all the tools he had on there in the drawer that we use upstairs. DH cleaned the glass doors on the cabinet and put it back and moved all the two freezers and fridge and swept behind it.

In the afternoon he sprayed the house paddock lawn for weeds and yes we finally have green grass after all the rain. In the afternoon DH washed the dishes and cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put them away.

Last night's dinner was sausages, fried diced mushrooms we got on markdown and salad that was a free supermarket sample for me being a taste tester (it was good).

This morning so far I have gone over the sink, stainless steel bench and the top and front of the stove with methylated spirits to clean them. I have stain removed some clothing and got on a load of washing and hung them on the clothes line to dry.

DH is about to clean the fronts of the 2 freezers and fridge and we will then make a lovely homemade cheesecake for this weeks treat.
