Moving a bookcase that is built into the wall 1 1/2" to the left.
When we had the house built I had a doorway installed "just in case". Over the years we didn't use the doorway so I had the great idea of replacing the doorway with a bookcase. Gave a local woodworker a drawing for the bookcase. A few weeks later picked up the bookcase and slid it into the former doorway. Fits! Went to trim around it and top right corner of trim hits the ceiling heat duck. I notch the trim to fit but its in a position I always see it and it bothers me. Now that I'm retired I have time. Today remove the bookcase trim, remove the books off the bookcase, remove the book case, cut a 2x4 out on the left and add the 2x4 to the right side, patch the dry wall, reinstall the bookcase, put the books back and retrim. Goal is have everything disassembled today and tomorrow is rebuild day.
