Had a video conference with a group 18 or so folks involved in all the stuff that will go into our new fire department/security building. I had submitted the quote for our part of the project before I went to working from home, over a month ago. Hadn't heard anything as of last week, so I got back in touch with the project manager. he informed me he would get me the cost codes to start buying. As of meeting time I still hadn't heard a word. Once he got to my part of the project he gave out dates starting April 27 for us to get started. I ask if he had the cost codes so I could start buying material. I'll get them to you today he said (and by 2:30 he had). So now I am scrambling to get orders placed, find replacements for anything that isn't available with the CV going on, and start lining up the other crafts that will help us out in installation.
Nothing like some unneeded pressure. I'm also going to have to go on site and discuss the area we are going to be working in to start with so no other folks will be scheduled in the same area. We are installing 5 antennas on a 100' tower and running coax to each of them and thru an underground conduit into the facility as first part of our project. I've got to write a work plan (safety related) for the work on the tower as we will have one climber going to the top and 2 bucket trucks reaching up to the 75' level. I'll have 7-8 folks on this part of the project. Fun times I'm telling you.

Be careful BackP .

I do not want your job, Sentry. Sorry about your uncle. And you are a good man to deliver the tp. Lady L....feeling your pain. Am glad we sold the business last summer. It would mean no customers, but still a large mortgage pmt and tons of paperwork now if we didn't. Grandkids school finished at lunchtime. Youngest daughter came by to use our internet...too many people on it at her apartment building. Went to the post office for mail and neighbor's mail. Caught up with next door neighbor on the phone today. Did some extra home cleanup, and too much cooking.

Peanut, I hope your power has been restored.

I had a kidney stone yesterday. I had agreed to drive some friends to Lake Charles for a medical appointment (they aren't confident driving there & my truck has gps). I made good time because we left early & there was less traffic than anticipated. Made it there before the time of the appointment & they actually took her in early (my friend & I waited in the truck while she went in) & finished before the appointment time so we went to HomeDepot (all wearing masks & using hand sanitizer) to find some electrical stuff to fix up my friend's house. There was a helpful employee who knew which aisle and bay specific items were in & told us & gave my friend advice on what to get. So we grabbed some stuff & left. I almost didn't go because of the kidney stone. It started working it's way down just before I left. I took naproxyn which took 10 minutes to take the edge off. Followed it with an ibuprofen when it didn't fully work after 10 minutes & that worked for the rest of the trip. Grabbed food on the way home, dropped friends off, and passed the kidney stone at home before taking a nap until almost midnight.

Not planning to go anywhere for the next few days.

Have a Sams pickup order this afternoon. Just read that our local indoor shooting range will be defying orders and opening up.
Defying "orders" or defying "recommendations"?

The reason I ask is because too many headlines that I have read state "Ordered" and when I read the actual notice it reads "Recommendation." Big difference IMHO.

Dishes are done. Whoopee!
Coffee has been drank at least the first pot.
Strawberry has been out several times.
Got 3 pounds of chunk apples out of dehydrator.
Got 3 pounds of pineapple chunks in now.
Charging my phone.
Talked to Neurologist on the phone for doctor's appointment this morning.
That was interesting to say the least.
Ortho appointment for next week is cancelled, 3 month check up on right knee.
Rescheduled for July for both knees check up.
Left knee 2 year follow up.
Right knee 6 month follow up.

Did breakfast
Did the dishes
We stopped at lunch time for sandwiches ( ham of course lol)
Helped hubby finish off the beams for the decking. Those things are heavy 😲
house remodel 001.JPG
Hubby is putting down the decking now.
I came in to the check the weather forecast and read the news online
Also have to start supper here in an hour
Then read some
Get coffee pot ready for tomorrow
Hope hubby gets a good bit done before he goes back to work on monday
Found out one the guys he works with has the virus and last we heard he was in the ICU. Everybody in the maintenance dept had to get the test. All were negative.
Such is life now I suppose :dunno:

I went out and looked at grills today after work. Not the ones inside, but the ones they line up in front of stores and cable tie or chain together. I can only do so much online research and then I need I lift the lid and push some buttons. As always I am looking for the cheapest possible item that provides the greatest longevity and value. My old Broil Mate cast aluminum grill, which went to the dump on Monday, cost me $159 and was used regularly for 15 years. Of course there was a lot of sweat equity and several scavenged parts in that grill too. Now most grills are steel and they rust out in 3-4 years. So I might have to go old school.

I'm in a bad mood and hearing all this news and the stupid reactions to it does'nt help.
I guess I'll go wath a video like 'How The West Was Won or some other hollyhood comedy version of our history.

My Goodness, my memory of the above movie was wrong! Surpeisingly the history in this movie was mostly accurate.Full of some fine acting and actors too.
@Bacpacker loads of history .

I'll have to check that out Meer. I'm not a big movie person, but the history will pull me in.

You ever just do a project that never was a project , ever, until suddenly you or/and your spouse decides to just do it?

That's what happened to me today.
I had some plans to do a few projects, but she said "hey, I seen a bunch of dafodils , white with yellow centers, growing down by the creek, behind the old barn"... _let's go dig them up and move them up here in the back yard".

While digging my brains out....she spots these little, pretty , purple wild flowers , and 2 wild ferns.

Still digging my brains out.
Yeah 5 gallon buckets full.

Guess who gets to dig a hundred holes in back yard along area where we cut all those trees last year.

You got it ...
Yours truly.

Glad I got 2 new knees, wish I had a new heart.

Got it all done...the project that just became a project out of nowhere.

See y'all tomorrow, if I don't expire tonight while dreaming I'm still digging.

Going to look at a doggy tommorow.rescue dog. Half Lab, half ?, Looks like hound dog , 1 1/2 years old.

A friend of mine knew I been sorta looking for a good farm dog. She notified me today about this one that just arrived at the county animal shelter for adoption.
She wiorks for helping paws in my town and they sponsor these dogs on occasion, they take care of adoption fee, all shots , neutering ....cost me nothing, but I'll make a donation to helping paws.

She loves the dog, thinks I will to.

Jim

@phideaux a 1 1/2 year old Lab mix is liable to put an even bigger strain on your heart and knees, trying to keep up with it. On the plus side, you could probably just turn the dog loose and it'll dig all your holes for you. Might not be where you want them, but they'll get dug...

Well, I'll keep him pinned up at night , until he gets familiar with us and the place.
He can run free in the day time.

He seems really nice , easy going. I seen videos of him.
I told her , first crater he digs in my yard, they will see him back.
I can't do the crater repairs anymore.

For sure hubby and I have a dog that still digs holes under dog house and shed. She is 12 years old and we get on to her so we just chained her to the dog house for several hours to see if she gets the hint..

If he digs under or around his house or pen , I don't care, he is looking for cool ground.
But
All over my yard , as I'm on a hill , holes become gulley's with rain, I can't have that anymore.

Digging is one of the reasons I prefer a little bit older dog. When my ex convinced me to rescue a 3 year old doberman she saw at PetSmart I was prepared for all kinds of trouble but he turned out to be one of the best behaved dogs I've ever known, and it took very little training. He had gotten all the puppy out of his system. He did scoop out a couple holes in the yard to lay in during the summer, but I wasn't too mad. The yard looked like crap anyway and it was stupid hot outside.
