I woke up pretty early. My brother has a doctor's appointment today in the afternoon & will want me to drive him. He likes having company (and not having to use gas in his truck-- but his truck needs some stuff worked on- I forget what he needs replaced).

Can't remember if I mentioned, but yesterday morning I accidentally inhaled some eggs while eating breakfast. My cat was meowing at me acting all concerned. I set the bowl aside and reached for her while I was coughing profusely. She rubbed against my hand and then went straight for my food bowl. LOL.
I miss my black cat who would get genuinely worried about me. If I coughed a lot she would meow at me and get near my face and rub her face on mine trying to comfort me. She meowed at me when I sneezed until I said I was ok. Same if I gasped and held my breath, she'd carry on until I said something to her. She had a full-on panic attack the time she watched me put my head underwater in the bathtub. She was yowling & trying to reach for me but was afraid to get her paw wet.

I'm probably going to nap before it's time to leave. I can't seem to motivate myself to get up yet.

I hope to see you doing something for yourself one day Zanne, life isn't a rehersal only got one,but then to some of us other peoples life is 'life'and not always a bad thing.Take care.

I took my wife's Toyota to the detail shop for exterior detailing. I want to protect the paint while it's still new and in good condition.
I'm going to have my truck completely detailed on Monday.
Have to make a run to Costco. I want to smoke a brisket tomorrow and the butcher shop only has 18 to 20-pound briskets and that is way bigger than I want.
Update:
The detail shop did a poor job so I canceled my truck.
For $160 there should not have been water streaks under the mirrors and the plastic trim should have been done.
I found a brisket at UMR foods for $2.99 a pound so I bought a 14 pounder. We have never heard of URM but they have good prices and were recommended by the butcher that didn't have smaller cuts.

Feeling little better today.

Just got off phone with my primary care doctor.
Not good report. Gotta get back on a carbohydrate ,sugar free diet and lose 25 lbs. Or die of kidney and/or liver failure. My blood work numbers were off the chart . She was not happy and chewed my butt out.

She don't realize what the wife and I have been thru last 7 months.
But, I'll get my diet under control. I'll be fine.

Nice sunny day outside today.
Y'all have a beautiful day.

Jim

Brothe and I cleared the basement because we have gas water sewage electrical work coming soon.

Stopped at The Ridge to check the survey markers. There is an animal hospital that is going to be built on the neighboring property.

Then I spent some time sitting next to the stream just to enjoy the day. A deer stopped and watched me for a bit.

Then I went home and streamed Atlas Shrugged. Just short of half way now.

My gooodness be careful, you can do it .:huggs:

Jim, I hope you can get things under control. Stress can have a huge impact on your health so I know that isn't helping. Perhaps you might want to mention to your doctor that you've had a lot of stress & to consider that as a factor. I know doctors are only human and can't help but get aggravated, but sometimes that aggravation causes the patient even more stress & is counterproductive.

I broke down today and bought a new sewing pattern. I have been trying to avoid fabric and patterns so I can limit what we drag with us out of state. The pattern I bought is a rifle sleeve and fishing pole storage bag pattern. I feel it is needed. K's fishing poles are getting dusty and dinged in the garage and I think they need bags to protect them.

I have also lost ten pounds since the middle of February. I am proud of myself but until I need new clothes I am not going to stop.

I am currently making storage boxes for the food storage we are going to store under the bed. I like the compact size box the LDS cans come in. I am using them as a model for my pattern.

More fall protection training at work. 1 more class to go with that before I can start climbing stacks. Worked with a couple my guys after that, one on a PLC programming job, the other on a water analyzer. Both went well. After that I cut out early. Gonna head down to visit our nephew tomorrow and see his new son for first time.
Right before I left, one of my techs said they had just gotten an email from the union with the latest contract offer. He and a couple other guys thought it was pretty good and optimistic that there won't be a strike. I felt in a much better mood than I have in 3 weeks.

12 volt DC electrical today!

We have a 23 foot Class B+ RV.

RV has a towing hitch with a 7 pin connector.

Saturday I need to pull the utility trailer and Mule with the RV (for the first time).

Thursday I backed the RV up to hitch up the utility trailer and proceeded to smash the RV 7 pin connecter housing into multiple pieces utilizing the utility trailer hitch to do so.

The 7 pin socket appears to be usable.

Utility trailer has a 4 pin flat connecter.

Last fall I bought an adapter to (just incase) to go from the RV 7 pin to the trailer 4 pin.

Using the adapter I try to connect the trailer's lights to the RV to check if the smashing blew any fuses. I bought the wrong adapter last fall!

Amazon. The correct adapter will be delivered Friday. I also ordered a replacement for the smashed 7 pin assembly housing too. 7 pin replacement will be delivered Monday.

Friday Amazon rescheduled the delivery of the adapter to Saturday before 5 PM. I needed it by 8 AM!!!
Local Tractor Supply has one in stock, wife will pick it up for me. I'm back on track!

I try to cancel my adapter order with Amazon. Nope, it''s too late to cancel. Bummer.

Wife gets home at 7 PM. Yes she got the adapter I needed. But I had wrote down the wrong part number and I have another wrong adapter.

This morning UPS drops off my Amazon order?!?!. It's the 7 pin assembly that was to be delivered Monday. I might as well go ahead and install it.

Four rusted on nuts later I have the smashed one off. New has the same bolt pattern as the old! How did I get so lucky?

Drew a sketch (and took pictures) of which wire goes where. Installed the new connecter and housing.

Put my tools away with a smile. A job well done. Except I still don't have the right 4 pin to 7 pin adapter.

As I'm walking from the shop towards the house Amazon Prime pulls into the driveway. What could it be? It's my adapter!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smiling ear to ear I plug the trailer's 4 pin into the adapter which I plug into the RV. 😁

Start the RV engine. Turn the left turn signal on. Still smiling as I walk to the rear of the trailer. Trailer's left turn signal is NOT blinking.

Right turn signal, NOPE.

Hazard flashing lights, NOPE.

No way to test the brakes lights.

Multimeter shows no voltage on the 4 pin side of the adapter. Hmmmm

I turn on the RV's clearance/running lights. Now I have voltage on the 4 pin side of the adapter on one pin.

Plug the trailer back into the adapter and...the clearance/running lights on the trailer are ON!

Left, right and hazard lights still don't work.

Wiring problem on the RV side or the RV manufacturer used a nonstandard wiring scheme on the 7 pin connecter?

My knees tell me I'm done sitting cross legged on a creeper for the day.

The utility trailer loaded with the Mule does not block the RV's rear turn signals or the brake lights. Saturday I'm pulling it as is.:(

Did my monthly Walmart roundup, and bought the random things I needed. Then went to lunch with husband and did the Kroger shopping. They have American Beauty Pasta for 49 cents in lots of 10, so I bought a half a cart full. I have an empty bin at home.
Feeling for you, Phideaux. Husband is always on a diet because of one thing or another. Some weeks it's more Keto, and some it's vegetarian. I give up and just tell him to write a menu with recipes attached. But he likes to go out to lunch, too, like you do. And that makes it hard. Chic fil a has a decent chicken market salad, and our Qdoba restaurant has mexican power bowls he likes.
Caught up with my nephew in Oklahoma last night. He and his wife had a brand new homestead...one year at it, and is doing well with chickens, rabbits, and getting the garden started.

I just started listening this morning. I'm thinking it must be pretty long - 4 CDs!

Two dog park trips today, 3 dogs.

Just came home from getting my COVID vaccination. Moderna. During my 15 minute wait, all I could think about was my Mom. She gave immunizations to people in my hometown. She was there for all of my childhood vaccinations, except maybe my last polio one. The polio vaccination was very important because her oldest brother had polio. He lost a year of school because he was so sick. The family has very little money. They were so poor. I cannot imagine how the family handled it.

I hauled a load to the dump. Having to get everything from the place up the mountain, we have been going through things and getting rid of things that are broken, junk, or kept for no good reason. I also have a growing pile for donation. Also at dump, got a load of compost, brought it home, unhitched the trailer, took pickup to Hubby. We kinda had a game of musical rigs going on yesterday so got that straightened out. Came home and ate, then began cleaning in the garage so we have room for our safe. After that, began off loading the compost one shovel full at a time into the wheelbarrow then to the raised beds. They are now ready for planting so here over the next few days, I should be able to get some things in the dirt. Oh also got a load of laundry washed and hung, dishes done, and remembered to take something out for supper. We have the son of some friends staying last night and tonight so that's fun. Now I'm off to make a batch of icecream :)

Dropped my tablet and cracked the screen so bad that it starts typing if you just wave your hand over it. It keeps trying to enter the password. 5 more attempts and its going to wipe itself and go back to factory settings. I set it up on a shelf to wait for the battery to die. I'll check with the screen repair place to see about fixing it when we go down for the kids pre OP apt.

On a good note, I found a truck door in El Paso for $45. A friend who lives there is going to make sure its as good as the salvage yard guy says it is and will pick it up for me and the shop checking out the front end of my truck said they went over everything and the only thing they could find was normal wear. I need new tie rods and an alignment.

I would never have thought to set the tablet up until the battery dies.

I hit a pot hole last week. Sun was bright in my eyes until I went under a train overpass when it got dark. Boom. BIG pothole. New tire last week, and now I need tie rods as well. I believe you need them due to your recent accident.

I don't think so. We replaced a u joint a few weeks ago and they mentioned that the tie rods looked worn. I wanted them to change them then but we didn't have time. Glad we waited, I'd have been really upset if we had replaced them and then messed them up.

Took my brother to his doctor's appointment and got mail. The new hallway light arrived but I'm not comfortable wiring it in myself. Stopped by to check on my friend (the one who will install the light for me). He finally found his sewer pipe. It wasn't in either spot flagged- turns out it was where they thought the gas line was. Tree roots had to be cut with a chainsaw. Clay pipe is cracked & has a hole in the top. They snaked it out and his toilet can flush now. We'll need to go get some more gravel to fill in the hole once the cleanout is put in.
He failed to listen to us about his ex lying about the other girl staying there. He kicked the girl out (well, gave her until a specific date that hasn't come yet & the girl left already but hasn't returned). One of the lies the ex told him was that the girl didn't clean. She would take credit for the girl's cleaning. Friend complained that since the girl left, his ex hasn't cleaned at all & has gone back to more of her bad behavior. She has some schizoprhrenic delusions about a conversation that never happened & claimed they were back together as a couple. The other girl getting kicked out was enough to cement the fantasy in her mind.
He sent her to the store with his $ to get him a Monster energy drink. It was the only thing she was supposed to buy. Instead, she went to the Circle K to buy candy & cigarettes for herself (and he's absolutely forbidden her to use any of his $ for cigarettes). Then she went to McDonalds and bought herself a meal and a drink (and she never finishes her drinks- she'll take a few sips and then leave it sitting out for days). She didn't even get his drink for him. She came back and he got mad at her and chewed her out. She mouthed off to him about how he's supposed to pay for her stuff since they are together. He then shouted at her in front of all the house guests about how they aren't a couple, they aren't even friends, and that he can barely tolerate her & they will never get back together again and she needs to stop taking advantage of him & needs to start cleaning up after herself and paying for her own stuff. The bint went and bought a car she can't afford. He also told her that if she can't or doesn't make her car payments, he won't make them for her. She apparently sobbed like a baby.

Tomorrow if he hasn't managed to get the cleanout put on, I will go over to help him.

You betcha!

Over 1000 pages of interesting side stories and theories on socialism and it's varients. I am enthralled since the story dovetails with what is happening today.

Someone said that we can look into future by examining the past. ayn Rand helped and added a narative to provide insight into what is happening why and what to exect next.

Dagny has crashed into Gaults Gultch.

I don't know what that means . . . yet ;)

I'm going to try and my old tower computer working again, this dang laptop loves to cancel out all I type for replies when I rest my wrists on the front of the computer to type, as always I want to warn everyone, DO NOT buy a Toshiba Satellite lap top, I've had issues with this one since day one and it's only getting worse, I have to be very careful about touching anything while trying to get messages out, you even look at this thing cross eyed and it goes places you never asked for, frequent errors often take me forever to get connected to the internet, one big PIA, I also have a huge dislike for all things Microsoft, wish the software writers had broken their arms from patting themselves on the back for writing software that causes computers to run slower than the old Windows 95, in those days the computers were more hardware driven, yeah 95 had it's problems, but to me it was a dream compared to this Windows 10 POS. Rant off.

This morning I started digging the hole for my maple tree, wife wants it planted where a gum tree had been (removed about 8 years ago), dug into a 3 foot root ball... not happy, work going slow, resting now. There is just something about digging red clay and chopping wood at the same time that takes all the fun out of things. Worst of all, get that clay on your shoes and you have to take them off every time you go into the house.

Everyone got to bed late and slept in a bit, there was a High School spring fling dance last night. Only an hour and a half, no slow dancing, and had to keep a mask on, but the twins were happy to get to go to something semi normal.
A big Farm Sale today, and the whole town and then some will be there. The Amish school is setting up lunch for sale. It's one of my cousins and her husband that are "retiring" from farming, but not moving. So lots of farm equipment and household goods being auctioned. Should be fun.

I have an apple tree to plant. We have lots of clay in our soil. No, our soil is clay! I have some peat moss to add to the soil. I do not have tree roots to get out as well, but I could if I planted in a few other locations. I have asparagus and blueberry bushes to plant as well.
