Feeling little better today.

Just got off phone with my primary care doctor.
Not good report. Gotta get back on a carbohydrate ,sugar free diet and lose 25 lbs. Or die of kidney and/or liver failure. My blood work numbers were off the chart . She was not happy and chewed my butt out.

She don't realize what the wife and I have been thru last 7 months.
But, I'll get my diet under control. I'll be fine.

Nice sunny day outside today.
Y'all have a beautiful day.

Jim
Wonder if your Primary Care Doctor is related to mine.
Because that's pretty much what my Primary Care Doctors aid.
I see her Monday in person 5 April.2021 @0830 hours.

A friend of mine heard the same thing from her doctor when she went for her annual physical. She started on Keto and has lost 30 pounds.

Have had grand daughter for several days.
Strawberry has been hurt, so I'm dealing with that too.
Will be having Granny's sleepover with grand daughters on the 2nd of April.
See Primary Care Doctor on the 5th April. 20121.
Nothing much going on.
Knitted sweater sleeves for little girl sweater.
It's for Christmas.
Getting tired, think I will go to bed for a while.

I have an apple tree to plant. We have lots of clay in our soil. No, our soil is clay! I have some peat moss to add to the soil. I do not have tree roots to get out as well, but I could if I planted in a few other locations. I have asparagus and blueberry bushes to plant as well.

good luck, hope you have more luck with fruit trees than we do....we have clay soil also but all trees I have tried to plant so far died before they grew. We have existing blueberry bushes that do ok, and existing fruit trees that don't hardly produce fruit no matter what we spray them with and fertilize with. I think we just get too much rain here for them.

More goat problems, one of them now has mastitis. She might not make it. Did take her to the vet and he gave me some antiinflamatory pills and gave her a few shots. Every morning I go to the barn I dread looking in her stall....
She has 3 large boys I am currently bottle feeding. Better get going I guess.

Weather went from 2 days of thunderstorms and rain to really cold again. I want last week's sunshine and warmth back!!

Doing a new diet , 3 day military diet. Seems pretty easy to me so far, I am on day 2. Easier than the Indian 1 week diet. I have now lost a total of 5 lbs fat ( I wait a few days after I do a diet to see what was water and what was real ). I put in a few cheat days in between diets so I don't lose motivation and it works for me. Made a cake with strawberry frosting ( home made) before I started this diet and had 3 pieces. It almost made me sick , I should have stopped at 2.....lol. Another good thing about doing these diets, you lose your tolerance for junk food. I do at least. It's like alcohol, if you drink a lot, it takes a lot to get drunk. If you don't drink at all for a while , 1 glass of wine will make you feel almost drunk. I think sugar works that way too.

Happy Birthday to the kid, Terri! Hope she has an awesome day!
Hoping to get some more planting done today. Have sugar snap peas soaking and ready to go.
Mom not answering her phone all weekend, and I suspect the ringer got turned off because she messes with stuff, so we'll be stopping by there today.

I'm currently loosing 1lb a day.

Just staying around 50 g of carbs a day , and 10 minute walks 3 -4 times a day.

Wife goes to her primary doctor today, hopes to get off Eliquist.

We both been sick with this allergy/ cold thing all week.
Slowly getting over that.

May tinker in garage today.

Wife wants to go to Amish community to get her spring flowers. I'm telling her it's too early....frost ain't done.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday.

Jim

If memory serves me Aspen are some of the first trees to grow in unforested grounds and eventually give way to other species.

It's a 1906 29-4 cobbler machine - I'm in love 😍 I named him Sid (Sidney Singer - haha). I am hoping to make slippers and have been working on my own pattern so now need to get back to it.

Wiring on the back side of the shatter 7-pin connector. Counter clockwise from the notch. Pin 1 is white, 2 is yellow, 3 is white/brown, 4 not used, 5 is green and 6 is not used. 7 is the center pin (brake) and is not used.

The new 7-pin connector installed.

The 7-pin to 4-pin adapter (the pin 5 is for brake which I don't need). Notch is at the top

This afternoon I confirmed the problem is on the 7-pin RV side. Possibly wire problems. Next warm day I feel like missing with it I'll disassemble the new 7-pin connector and work my way back towards the RV.

Nice sewing machine Lady L!

I went to Walmart at 7 AM this morning. Got that over for the month. They were fully stocked, but prices are creeping up.

Came home and walked, then walked dogs.
Started laundry.
Emailed little brother's credit union since I can't get a live person on the phone. Hopefully, they can tell me what I need to do next.
Changed PC'ing mac and cheese until later in the week as my gall bladder is hurting so I am doing a liver cleanse.
Still need to fill out wills, etc. maybe today.
Cook ears of corn and make pudding (not from corn) LOL.

Before I saw the bottom part of your post, I thought this must be for leather. Very cool to have a cobbler machine.

Brother and met with the electrician that will help the electric changes we need to do. He will work a plan and acquire the stuff we will need.

Brother is running around picking up supplies for us to run new gas lines tomorrow. I have some studying to do today to learn how to work with flexible gas lines.

I have a follow up appt tomorrow with the Dr to check my blood pressure. After 2 days of medicine I have dropped from hypertension crisis to level 2.

Messing with mom's medical today. Am not happy with the mobile medical that has subcontracted out to the Mennonite Manor where she lives. Asked them to check her ears for wax last week, and if it's clear, then she needs her hearing checked. No one got back to me, so I called them myself. They said I couldn't speak to the PA who looked in her ears, and the PA says she hears fine. Ha Ha. She hasn't answered her apartment telephone the last few days, so we went and checked it today and they had adjusted her phone ring to a musical ring. Since her hearing is not good, she thought it was the tv. We fixed her phone ring, turned up the volume, and took her to Dollar Tree for shopping. Found out that the medical team doesn't even do a yearly checkup for mom with a real doctor. But they sure like to bill her medicare and supplement. I think I'll be looking for a primary care doc that I'll drive her to see myself.

I saw an old industrial carpet binding machine at the thrift store. If I had a use for it I would get it. But if I ever find a cobbler machine I might just have to get it and name it Nancy.
;)

I got a 1937 singer, I think that the oldset I have.
They run forever.

Can you report that to Medicare? That would certainly motivate them to do their job (& what they are billing for.)

They are covering their butts right now. PA called me and offered to get mom an appt with the doc. Nurse on site said she's sure she's had an appt in the last year and will check records. Ha Ha. I'm supposed to be present or notified of any med appts. Said they had my wrong phone number. Not so.
So, nothing I can prove. I think I should be allowed to talk to her care provider since I'm her medical person. They're using covid as an excuse.
My husband has medicare and the same secondary insurance, and he gets great healthcare. Think I'm going to move her to my husband's doc and take her myself. Husband's not thrilled about me having to do this, but oh well.
Learned another tip with mom...I took her to the dentist last week and she is scheduled this week for a filling. I had the receptionist fill out two appt card reminders, one for each of us. Mom used her card to call them and cancel (because of covid). I called them and had them reinstate the appt. Mom has slight dementia and can really mess things up. She convinced herself that they were going to pull out all of her bottom teeth this week. She's had both shots, and there's not even any cases in the hospital here. She watches liberal garbage on tv, then scares herself and decides not to leave her apartment.

Yep, Phideaux, it's too early for the flowers. The amish greenhouse in our neighborhood only has onion sets right now. Everything else is after Easter, so I imagine your area is about the same.

I never even planted a garden until after 4/15.

We gonna have 2 nights this week in the 20s. Frost for sure , which probably wipe out plums and pears..AGAIN.

I had sooo many things planned for today, none of them got done. A couple of months ago I hurt a muscle that attached to the tip of my hip bone, a “hip pointer” if you will. It was an annoyance for about a week, got better Evidently I re-injured it last night.

My keyboard was about toast, keys sticking etc. so I replaced it with one of the spare keyboards I have. While bending over switching cables behind my pc I tweaked that same muscle again, worse this time than the first time. I went to my knees, took a few minutes to get back up and into my chair.

Carp! It’s spring and I have fences and gates to repair, equipment to move for planting the garden, the list seems endless. All the reasons I have to repair fences to keep the cows out of the garden is a 2 page rant for the rant thread. Suffice to say the grtnephew took over the cattle operation 2 years ago, everything has gone downhill since. Example, he knocked a gate post down 4 months ago with a trailer, still hasn’t been fixed, but he did prop it back up, sort of. But dad or I have to pick up one end of the gate and walk it out of the way. I’m tired of doing so, I’ll fix the gate correctly and be done with it.

@Peanut , getting old is carp, but being old is a disaster.
Hope you ain't down too long to ice packs.

I went to sit on the edge of my front porch today, forgot I can't squat (fake knees) half way down I fell backwards, of course there's a child's mini lawn chair behind me , my lower rib cage is really hurting. Probly be all black and blue tomorrow.

Voltaren ointment and ice pack.

Wife was at doctor's so had no help.
She chewed me out.

Hope I sleep tonight.

Grimm, those abscesses on cats can be terrible. I've had numerous cats get abscesses. I usually clean the wounds, drain the fluid as much as possible, and take them to the vet for an antibiotic shot.

Got up early to clean litterboxes and clean the hallway (where litterboxes go and there are sometimes spills or cats going out of bounds)

Got my 1st dose of the Covid vaccine. My brother & I were the only ones there for the vaccine. A lot of people in the area are anti-vax so that wasn't surprising. I'm just surprised it was available so soon. But, being overweight and having a heart condition made me eligible & my brother's overweight, diabetes, and copd made him eligible. It was completely painless. So painless I questioned whether the needle even went in. There was a bandage with a membrane they gave the shot through. I thought maybe they missed my arm and just put it under the membrane. But, I have a pinprick there so I guess it was just a spot that wasn't sensitive. Had it put in my bad arm that already hurt. Lady who gave the shot was very nice. 2nd shot is on the 19th.

I felt bad for my brother bc we discovered the new toilet tank was shattered in the box. He went to pick up the smaller box to take it out of the larger box & the tank sliced his finger. Took it back to HomeDepot & told them what happened. Clerk was horrified and apologized profusely. Full refund right away. Will have to order another one and ask for better packing.

Picked up some new pillows from Walmart- they are sooo comfortable.

Popped by to see my friend. Determined my compressor has been stolen & he thinks he saw it for sale at the local pawn shop. He's going to ask the owner who sold it to him. Said if the compressor there is mine he'll buy it back for me as he's responsible for it since it was in his house.

Girl he kicked out was there with a U-Haul. His stupid ex was practically jumping for joy. She was acting like she was being nice by helping carry things but the other girl wouldn't even speak to her. She knows she's the reason she got kicked out. Her little brother was there to help & gave me a big hug. He's a sweet kid despite the whole tp incident-- but I don't think that was his fault given that all of the houses on the street got clogged lines at the same time.

Dropped my brother off there with his new pillow (I was nice & got him one as well) so he could hang out and nap while I came home to feed Mom.

Currently leaning on my pillow snuggled up with cats. No adverse reaction to the vaccine thus far. Arm was already sore & I already had a minor sinus headache from allergies.

You better just take it easy on yourself, Jim. Getting older does suck. My 85 year old Pops cracked a vertebrae just riding in the car a while back. Then he had a V-tach episode soon after and his legs buckled. He basically sat straight down on the floor, then slumped over backwards and hit his head. The result was a brain bleed that nearly killed him.

All of you "elders" here, take care of yourselves. Us young fellas need y'all around to keep us in line...😉
