Participated in early voting. In person. With my own pen.
Not because I wanted to, or have any faith that my vote will be fairly counted, but because my Husband would have wanted me to. He was very passionate about this country.
I had intended to take today off to do chores, but what with the rain and being extra tired and messed up from the stupid time change, ended up driving the computer all day. Saved up that annual leave for another time. Lots of strange stuff going on. Had a complaint come in about mercury being tossed into a parking lot. Who in the world has a cup full of mercury hanging around, and thinks it's a good idea to throw it in the parking lot of a tiny dive bar? Then there was the guy with a complaint about a city water bill. He knows it's wrong because before he left for vacation, he unplugged his sump pump so that it wouldn't overflow the basement. Let that one sink in for a minute. The level of stupidity floating around out there is scary.

No not really. We have an abundance of food - 2 fridges and a pantry chock full, but nothing on the level of many of you.

So yes, we'll starve if TSHTF.
I dont either
I never went bat sh*t crazy
I dont open a food store business either LOL

It is not the end of the world and if it comes ...
food will go bad or poisoned by chemicals

Spent the day at the hospital with husband. But now he's seen his specialist, IV anitibiotics will arrive at the house tomorrow, and he has a picc line in. I got booted out of the room while the line was being in, so filled up the truck with gas, got more cash from the bank, and filled a cart of dry goods at Ollies.

Went to a funeral today, my neighbor who was killed last week, tragic. He and I shared a few cousins, several were there. But there were quite a few people I didn’t know. Speaking of which… 3 women came over to where I was standing and gave me a big hug. They weren’t together, came over at different times… I have no idea who they were. They knew me, called me by name. One seemed familiar, mentioned a girl friend I had in 1977. Did they get old or is my mind slipping? Or both? 🤣

No plans but tv this evening...

Got up, worked out, cleaned up, went to work, ran to the store for the lady, got caught up in a dispute between a security guard and a Karen, listened to Steve Bannon on talk radio talk about all the J6'ers and little old ladies he saw in prison thanks to the weaponized DOJ, collected the mail, came up to the apartment, talked to the girl about her getaway, grabbed my laptop, came to the forum, made this post.
What is "..a Karen"? I've heard this term before, but in a derogatory fashion.

I was tasked with installing some perennial flowers on the front hill so I loaded up the side by side. No start.... trouble shoot... schedule my brother to consult before I call the shop.

Noticed an older couple out front looking at my house. I saw then look at the yard sign and hob nob. I asked them what they what they were looking for and they were looking for apartment "G". I explained this was once a duplex and I rented to a democrat back then. They said it must be a mistake ans walked away. I told them to behave themselves. When they drove away I noticed a green license plate in their ev. What us green? Vermont? They came a long way to find me. 😊

The Princess just headed of to bed. She will up at 4:30 so she can open the polls tomorrow. She then has a 14+ hour shift working the polls. It will be a long day for her.

Took the toilet jack over to friend's house after briefly stopping in to Walmart to grab some stuff. Got some popcorn chicken from the deli. Friend was eating dinner so I spent most of the time holding Kelebrimbor. He got some sort of oil or something on himself so I gave him a bath and held him while he dried off. He's such a loving little baby. I want to bring him home so badly. Mom said "no" but bro was joking we could just claim we found him somewhere and its a different kitten.

It was time to give Fippy and Princess their flea meds (and Princess needed her heartworm meds). Fippy gets an annual shot for heartworm but Princess tested positive so she has to take monthly oral medication. She took the heartworm stuff just fine but kept spitting out pieces of the flea pill-- which I fed to her inside popcorn chicken. Mom ate some of the popcorn chicken and gave the rest to Fippy. She used it to give him the flea pill as well.

AC guy called to apologize and say he couldn't make it today. Too many jobs ahead of ours and things went wrong so it was taking longer. Mom said it was fine and that she understood. He also said how much stuff would cost if it wasn't something wrong with the outside unit. Outside unit is still under warranty.

Wish some of the beekeepers would have taken them!!
I know nothing about beekeeping but I found that odd. I would think that the more producing bees you have the more options you have to make money. I guess maybe there's a tipping point where the market is so filled with people selling honey that it drives the price down (supply & demand). I did also discover that there is a lot of bee keepers that have a side job of killing bees & removing them.

Not feeling the best this morning, but did the usual chores/runs. Husband fed the hens & pheasants at 6.30am , so I went out at ten to let them out into their run, after they'd laid.
All dead, just lying in their hen house. Bloody mink or pine marten got them I'm torn between cussing and crying, so doing both at the minute.
And not a pheasant touched! We've had a good run, never lost anything in 25 years, but I'm so mad.

going to go vote today
after taking care of the animals
We took the ram away from the sheep to be able to put the rest of the girls back in with the herd, since their pasture is about gone ( it was the smallest one we have ). The ram is going to the auction on the 23 most likely , so we have a few more weeks to put him somewhere. He will probably go into that pasture with hay and a buddy. Also did goat hoofs, including one of the bucks. He is also going to the auction but his hoofs needed doing and I don;t want to send a animal with bad looking hoofs to the auction, THe other buck will be a problem he doesn't behave.
Took Otto for a hike late and it is getting dark so early. No rain yet but the forecast shows rain coming. It's so much easier with no rain, but so bad for the pasture and our spring.

so sorry about your hens, and too late in the year to start with new ones. We had that sort of happen when we first moved here, raccoon got a lot of ours. I did shoot it, so at least it got what it had coming but the hens were still dead.
We lock them up at night now and have better fencing around them.

Thats why I'm so mad-they were locked in to a purpose mad house. In the early days I just had pens made out of pallets and nothing happened. I can get new ones off my Dad but think I will leave it until the Spring, or at least till the pine martin or whatever is caught. Have chained one of the dogs down near the pheasants in case it comes back today. A lesson for the dog also who went after the cats this morning also.

A quieter day today for me, I hope, and not as much rain would be good. Farm chores this morning, husband's meds should be at the door from the city by lunchtime. I'll need to take his ballot in to our little post office before noon so it gets stamped. Might as well vote nextdoor to our post office. The travel office for the amish bus trips has a room behind the office that we vote at. Have another turkey to throw in the oven this morning, then will strip it down for the freezer for lunchmeat later. Taking husband to the hospital late afternoon for a bandage change on his picc line but that should be quick. That's one thing I can't do at home for him. I set up another oxygen/nebulizer area near our bed in addition to the area in the office and moved a recliner there last night, and he's still sleeping, and I only heard him up twice, so maybe that helped. Thinking on switching out a recliner in there for one he likes better (maybe) today so we'll see. If so, I'll put the felt skids on the bottom of that one, too. Pretty easy to slide things around instead of picking them up. I bought a bunch of felt skids for that reason. I'll move something one time, then it gets felted.

I got booted out of the room while the line was being in
Me too when DH's was put in.
All dead, just lying in their hen house.
I'm so sorry about your hens!

Will walk first.
Go vote.
Take my friend to different place to vote.
Some banking.
Dentist to ask for antibiotics for DH who has to have a tooth pulled in a month.
Starting to do filing that I can and put away some as I go.
Cooking garbanzo beans in crockpot.
Should take the day so I don't concentrate on election crap.

@Ekatarina , have you listened to Angels in Heaven by Chris Rodriguez and the spoon lady? I love that!
