Here's the first phase of the blacksmith shop. Should have the roof on by Tuesday. Whenever I clear out the brush on the right side I'll start on phase 2, which will be another 12×16 section. I'm going down tomorrow to pick up the lumber to start framing in the sides.
I apologize if I already posted this picture. I took it a few days ago.

Haven't been able to work on my stairway project since wednesday. Family obligations and trips to town each day wore me out. But I got something done today, got the box for the upper stairway switch installed. That took an hour with the jig saw, didn't want to trim too much so I shaved just a little wood each time, was cutting a 1” thick v-joint pine board, seemed to take forever. But I got the box in, new 3-way switch wired and cover plate on. That part is done, no more trips up the stairs until I finish the rest of the circuit.

No plans tonight but tv.

Continued... still had a little energy so I went back and finished the wiring for the stairway and storage rm. Put in all the drop ceiling sheets but one. Hung the 4ft led ceiling light and wired it in. Only thing left is adding a couple tie wraps for proper service loops and connecting the circuit in the junction box and main power feed from the breaker box. Then I can test the circuit and put in the last sheet of drop in ceiling. Hopefully get that done tomorrow and call this half of the job finished. 😊 Still have to rewire the laundry rm but it'll be simple in comparison.

Finally Sunday and yes
MONDAY :)

December 8th 2024
8.42 pm but feels like 11. pm

Seem to me the day was long
but in reality it went fast as a flash
Well...I think 🤔

Grocery shopping tomorrow for myself and my babies 🥰
Will have to warm up the car before to leave home
Supposed to be cloudy and no snow fall

So only 9pm my time right now
I am sipping some aloes juice

Lets have a relaxing night 🤗

My funny for the day: Nothing better than having a dream, and realizing it is a dream, while you are in it. :)
...
I have those regularly amd it is reassuring being able to observe THAT ain't real and this is a dream. My favorite is reminding myself I don't have to solve that problem because I am retired and it is someone elses problem!

Nice

Got up early and went to help my friend do some demo on the additions to the workshop. Had to bring some extra tools since his prybar went missing. Brought my brother with me so he was able to help. He's taller than both of us so he was able to reach stuff we couldn't and he actually was very helpful. He didn't stay out working as long as friend and I did. I lack the strength/coordination to be as much help as I wanted but I did help some. Friend said just bringing the tools was good. I moved some stuff to safety and kept guard over the tools when someone else came by to get some of the 2x6s and 2x4s (he specifically asked about everything he took-- apparently the guy is a friend of my friend's mother). He said something about friend's mother wanting some stuff and I said "Well she can come help demo then." Old man also said he has a bunch of windows sitting around and that if friend wanted one to replace a broken one on the barn that he could come pick one.

Didn't get home til after 4pm and my body is sore.

Returned from cookie party. Caught up with neighbors we haven’t seen since last year’s party. One couple multiplied 😉. Found out she was pregnant shortly after last year’s party so arrived with their wee one.
Hosts are getting older- hope they continue a long time.
I made icicles with pomegranate & raspberry jam. The recipe was in some foreign language- sorta translated, but I worked it out.

WOW !!! A delicious piece of art 🥰 :p

Back home after a tiring 3.5-4 hour drive from Ballarat back to Kalangadoo enjoyed the weekend away staying at a nice but not overly fancy holiday park that is only a 10 minute drive to Ballarat wildlife park and about 8 minute walk to Sovereign Hill spent an half hour Saturday arvo at a popular video arcade called time-zone racked up enough tickets to buy some nice novelty keychains before heading back and ordering pizza for dinner then unwound by playing skill tester games in the game room

Yesterday started a bit behind time as the other half didn't wanna get out of bed in a hurry but couldn't stop apologizing about getting out of bed late so to avoid any arguments we took our time at the wildlife park before heading back to our cabin having a brief rest and change before trekking it on foot to Sovereign Hill

Spent rest of the arvo there doing candle dipping, keyring making and general browsing through each building even partaking in a couple of cold drinks at the historical New York bakery where you get seated and order but only pay once you've finished having your food or drink this surprised the other half because she didn't get to experience any historical stuff or go to placed like Sovereign Hill when younger unlike myself who went there for the first as part of a year 12 tourism class field trip over 20 years ago when i was 18

After having our refreshing drinks we had a quick look in a couple of other buildings before making our way into the main entry/exit building for a look in the gift shop before heading out to secondary gift shop down the steps where there was more on offer

Of course i ended up paying $186 in total 🙄 that included another travel bag for other half as she really the design of it but also in amongst that stuff a nice mug as part of mums christmas gifts, a weather glass in shape of a cloud for myself, $15.00 gift hamper consisting of a jar of Sovereign Hill made lollies and candle of which form part of my sisters present which also contains a necklace the other half brought for her from jewelers there

To summarize it was a relaxing weekend but also painful on my pocket even though I saved up nearly 4k all year 🤣🤣

the only thing left to do in the house after animal care today is cleaning it. It gets dirty faster in winter somehow
I do need to do goat hoofs, but I only do about 3 a day or my hands hurt

So today I am just going to do that. It's raining out so animals will stay in until it clears up. But at least it is not freezing for a few days

Haven't heard from daughter to see if there is an update of their situation and son is still looking for a job. I am surprised he hasn't even gotten a real interview yet. There are entry level engineering jobs out there, and his resume looks ok to me, only thing I can figure they either are taking their time because it is holiday season, or they don't want to hire him because he waited a while to start applying for jobs after graduating. I wonder if it is harder now to get a job. Both husband and myself worked as interns during the last year of college and got jobs that way. Son didn't do that because we live so far from the university and he didn't really have time. But he did work doing a project for a professor. So not sure.
Always something to worry about ....

Husband's got an eye appt I need to get him to, and the washing machine fixit guy is supposed to come today, although I don't have a clue to what time. So that is a big hooray, it's been a week.
Thinking husband and I need to get on the computer and order some Christmas gifts. Haven't done any of that yet.

Had a little snow again last night. Going out to hitch up the trailer soon and head down to pick up a load of lumber. It's a 200 mile round trip and I'm really not looking forward to pulling a trailer on snow and ice covered roads. Some of the lumber that I need is 16 feet long so I have no choice but to take the trailer. Since I normally don't drive the truck during the winter I never put studded tires on it.

I've been on the phone quite a bit this morning. I've been trying to find an old 401k account that I had lost track of. Apparently when I moved in 2016 the address never got updated and my email never got attached to it. I had a lot going on in life and I honestly just forgot about it. It didn't have much in it anyway. The account had been transferred to a different plan provider since then. I finally got it tracked down, but I can't access it because the company has the wrong birth date on file. It's likely a clerical error from when the account got transferred from Securian to The Standard. Now I have to jump through some hoops to get all that corrected. I already had to try and remember every mailing address I've had since 2002 for them and luckily I did that. Once everything is made right, I can hopefully roll it over from a 401k to a Roth. If not, I'll just start making contributions to it and see how it's been doing. I do remember that when the .com bubble burst back in 2001 it was down to about $600! But now it should hopefully have gained. Since it still exists, there has to be something in it, right?

Got up, worked out, cleaned up, went to work, was "interviewed" by a criminal investigator for the state about some information I recovered that they could not locate - with the assistance of counsel of course, followed her advice and laid low the rest of the morning, ran some errands, stopped for a footlong chili-dog, visited a race track / driving school, picked up a small Christmas gift for the lady, came home, saw that my Challenger friend is back to driving a Challenger, did some dishes, changed clothes, made a cup of coffee, really pissed off a spam/scam caller by pretending to be Joe Biden-esque thus wasting 20 minutes of his time, called pops, then grabbed the old Dell Precision.

That must have been scary....... thinking the guy didn't have his Challenger anymore!!! 😅

I know. One of the security guards believes it was in the body shop because he got into an accident. I am just sad I couldn't be there for him at such a difficult time. I might have let him sit in Charlene and smell her exhaust.
