Sonya, I am so sorry about Axel. I know how much it sucks. Sending you big hugs.

Grimm, moving sucks but I've heard Austin is nice.

Cooked for Mom and am cuddling with the kitty cats.

I'm thinking of going to Samsclub tomorrow and stopping at the Chinese place, but I know I need to cut back on takeout and restaurant food because prices have gone up again. Sales tax went up to 10.5% up there.

Today I spent doing tornado recovery work . I was up righting shortened electrical power poles that I used for holding up the grape vines in the vineyard . The winds had done what tornadoes do and wrecked havoc . I had to trim the vines way back to get the weight of the wires that run between the poles then reconstruct .

Axel is not doing well, not even eating the livers I cooked him. He's just laying there. I forced some antibiotics and pain pills down him, hope it will work. Not looking good:( I hate those damned ticks around here. If I had to pick THE worst thing about living here that would be it. Lyme causes lots of problems for humans and animals
Maybe some warm chicken or whatever meat you have broth to drink along with water ?
That might perk him up alittle ..if he will take it..

Last 2 weeks or so ago.. arriving at work..burr..

Today's hike up my road to my neighbors property..spooked the elk herd ..I saw their tracks but didn't know they were still here..I'm glad to see them..look at that big boy n that rack!
Zoom in on the herd..my phone picked up what looks like a aroarah..spell of every elk..how fun..thought I'd take a few view shots of the little valley below my place...so beautiful..cold but perdy!
I was down in this valley today at the community meeting. It went good..soil ammendment, ph soil testing, best practices used by a few of the cattle ranchers that grow hay for their herds and what they have found lacking in our local soils here..great info..

Drinking lots of vodka and crying
see above post.....very sad news

Went to a 2 1/2 hour movie and other information on human trafficking. The lady who puts them on does a GREAT job and she doesn't ask for any money. She does it because she is really hot in the issue. I really admire her for what she does. She stated that Iowa is number three in the nation for human trafficking. GEEZZZZ!!!!

Then visited with some friends and now I'm in front of my computer, stuck with you folks. LOL

Today I need to shovel a roof about 1500 sq ft. Then for fun I need to cut and split a tree I cut down about a half cord.
That's the day of a guy over 70.
What are you youngsters up to?
You’re in your 70s? I thought you were a young woopersnapper 🧐. Oops I mean , why that’s not very old 😉. You’ve got another 30 years so be nice to yourself.

Finally talked to my friend. As I thought she’s been over loaded taking daughter to chemo and seeing after her grandchildren. Everyone got the flu that’s been making the rounds. Adults got sinus infections and 2 kids ended up with strep throat, a mess. She’s still holding it together though, a tough woman.

Pressed out a few tinctures today. Got all the equipment cleaned and washed. Ready to start pressing again tomorrow.

After a 24hr soak in gasoline I rinsed all the socket sets. Got them soaking again in clean fuel. Been reading that a soak in distilled vinegar will take off any rust. A few pieces have rusty spots. I have a couple gallons in the pantry I need to use. I’ll give the socket sets a good rinse tomorrow to get the fuel off then dump them in a bucket of vinegar for a day or so….

No plans but tv this evening.
Yes vinegar will dissolve rust with time.

The Princess left an old school cookie sheet on the counter after washing but it wasn't dry. Rust spot. Covered it with paper towel soaked in vinegar for a week almost gone. Eventually gone.

Axel didn't make it.
Sorry to hear of your loss..
Pets are just as much loved as family members.. I grieved the loss of Winston Churchill DeHoundog and MrPip...

Will get out tomorrow for a couple errands, pot luck dinner before the big game here at the ...Wrinkle Ranch... Next week to drop back to "0"F range, so will hibernate..

What state is number 1 now ? Just curious..

If I were young I would not be up at 3 am having coffee and getting ready to start the day.
We got about 8 inches of snow last night and that means snow blowing the drive and around the green house.I cut up hat tree yesterday because the young man that sells wood would have us freeze before getting here with the wood we ordered.
I wait for no man.

The best hand cleaners (for mechanics) have oil in them. Oil cuts and dissolves oil. The same can be said for all solvents. Vinegar is a solvent and will dissolve rust, but if not properly used - it will create rust.

For hand soap: The best cleaners use walnuts. The oil dissolves, provides a conditioner for the skin and the shells are an abrasive agent.

Anyway.... looks like today is gonna be a repeat: Coffee, eggs, oats. Then - I'll have to more productive than yesterday, lest you see me using a food card and standing on a street with a "please help... I'm homeless" sign. Just saying it's about that bad. But as long as I have internet service... you'll keep seeing me around.

Haven't been doing much.
Since we've both gotten rid of the crud that hubby brought home the weather has been.....wintery.

Snow, sleet, freezing rain then rain is making it hard to do anything outside. We're supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow tuesday.
This weather is playing havoc with my arthritis.

So we've been going through things and getting rid of a lot of it.
And just hanging out inside waiting for the weather to cooperate.

I feel a good change coming your way!!😉

Drinking coffee, little critters are fed and enjoying the fire! Cool here so I put the heat (wood stove)on! It was nice having a break from the wood stove, but it will be going this week!! Going to clean my building this morning and make a Walmart run. Hubby is taking his elderly lady grocery shopping and running errands. Maybe she'll take him to breakfast!!

Been up every couple hours all night feeding the wood stove. After breakfast I'll take the snowblower out and make another pass on the road. It's a little narrow in places for my truck. Then we'll go to town and I'll pick up my lumber and we'll get some necessities from the grocery store, mainly bacon. On the way home I'll stop and fill my transfer tank with off-road diesel.
There calling for another foot or two of snow latter in the week. I don't want to be caught low on the necessaries again.
Sometime soon I need to go down to the farm/ranch supply store and pick up the shotgun I ordered a couple of weeks ago.

I have been having trouble on all my browsers, sites don't load right, things are slow, and I'm getting my cookies burnt.... I realized that Microsoft gave my a new support in February called Copilot and it seemed to be touching every thing... So I uninstalled it. Poof, everything started working again. Thanks MS.

I AM SO SORRY @sonya123 !! I feel your pain my dear friend!! 💔
thanks, he will be a great loss. He was not just a pet but working dog that did a great job. We never lost any lambs or goat kids since we got the dogs. When one of the goats got stuck in the fence, he would sit next to it until we came and unstuck it. He was super friendly to humans too . I will really miss him

I don't know what we are going to do now, we are about to have lambs and kids. We usually split up the dogs and put one with the sheep and one with the goats but now we only have one. I guess we better really make sure the electric fences work at all times.
I wonder how Rose is going to do without him. She did eat yesterday evening, but did not want to go in the dog room where they usually spend the night if everyone is in the barn so I just left her with the goats for now.

I uninstalled mine too
