All this talk of Greek food made me remember I had a package of ground lamb in the freezer, so I looked up a recipe online.

Mediterranean Lamb Bowl - tumeric rice, ground spiced lamb, diced cucumbers and tomatoes, feta cheese. There was supposed to be some hummis, and I thought I had a can of chick peas, but I couldn't find it.

Lamb has fresh minced garlic, fresh minced onion, fresh chopped Italian parsley, fresh chopped mint, ground ginger, ground allspice, ground paprika, ground cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper.

There is enough lamb for several meals, so tomorrow I'll make it again if I can find a supermarket open, this time with hummis.

That looks really good.
I had salad with the church ladies. I made lemonade and you would think they never heard of real lemonade before by the way they talked about it.

We did burgers and sausages on the grill for the fourth celebration with a ton of sides. Am almost in pain right now from eating so much. I did pu two 2” thick ribeyes at the store while on sale today for dinner later on this week. 7.98 a pound was almost half their regular price. Everybody loves ribeye!

I smoked a brisket and slow cooked it with bbq sauce in crock pot. We grilled burgers, hot dogs and sausage. We made a potato salad, baked beans with bacon, homemade beef chilli. Creole tomato, red onion, avocado salad with a apple cider viniger-Olive oil dressing, crushed black pepper, sea salt.

I made a culliflower cassarol with bacon, cream cheese, sour cream, butter, green onions, cheddar cheese, garlic, pepper, salt.
Hamburger n hotdog buns and french pistolet rolls. All the fixins.

Ladyfinger, gramcracker crumble, sliced strawberry, strawberry sauce, whipped cream ice box pan pie for desert.

I liked the whole season except for the last episode. I’ll be curious to know what you think.
I loved the last season. It’s kind of a kids show but with enough Stephen King to make it interesting. So far it’s got my interest.
Tonight I was lazy and got two large to go orders from a Chinese buffet that’s not too far away. 15 mi each way, but that’s what you get when you live n the country. Anyways I’m full and content, and just poured a beer over ice, and now will watch two more episodes of stranger things. Prepping can wait till later!

Thick ribeye, corn on the Cobb, baked potato, toast, and a fresh salad mostly from the garden. Washed down with a cold beer over ice. Kings in the past didn’t have it so good.

Are you still feeling ill? That is not much for a grown man.
Yeah. Still feeling pretty puny. I did manage to get a half a ham sandwich down this morning. Got my first load of hay in this afternoon. I thought I was going to have heat stroke. It must have been 75 degs in that hay field. It's a little cooler at home.

Today I made a roux from kudzu root(Aurgustin Farms shortening powder). I browned 2 squirles and slow cooked them with wild onions and saw palmetto hearts, potatoes, freeze dried carrots. Pepper, sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder.
Served this over white rice.
It tasted pretty damn good and would consider this a good prepper meal that I could make well after SHTF. My pics still won't load. I was going to make a wild forage salad, but didn't get the chance. I already pick wild greens and add to my salads, so no big deal.

I've been meaning to try dwarf palmetto root (closely related to saw palmetto), the BOL is covered with them. But I remember the last time I dug one up. The damned roots go halfway to China because it's basically a palm tree with the trunk entirely underground. LOL

I am too old to do that with a shovel anymore, but I might try it with the front end loader.

Yeah there is a lot of food in a saw palmetto, but it's all underground. Hey if your hungry enough....
