Biscuits and blackberry jam, YUM YUM! Blackberry jam is the only kind of jam or jelly I buy.

I guess that would be "Scones and blackberry jam" to bigpaul ;)
Blackberry jam is in fact the best kind of jam. Where I grew up there were tons of wild blackberries - I made a lot of jam. I still go back to visit that time of year just to get some blackberries. My arms will be covered in scratches and it can take a long time to get all the little stickers out of my hands. But it's worth it for the jam.

I just pulled out a large pan of Chex party mix from the oven. Was walking by a display at the store and fell for it. I substitute Fritos for the wheat Chex and double the nuts and pretzels, and add more Worcester sauce than called for.. I also replace about a third of the butter with olive oil. Why, I don’t know, this isn’t healthfood we’re talking about here. Wonderfully good snack though.
I also put in a slab of dry rubbed pork ribs in the oven. I put them on a rack inside the pan, add water to just below the rack and seal it up tight with foil. Slow cooked for about 3 to 4 hrs and they fall off the bone. I could just use the instapot and they would be ready in 30 mins, but sometimes I like old school.
I also just finished bottling 8 gallon jugs of wine from last years batch. That was the last of 2018’s. I really didn’t feel like messing with it but needed the room for this years batches. One good thing about wine is it’s very patient. If you don’t feel like doing it this week or even month, as long as it’s kept cool and dark it will be fine. I’ll have a glass with those ribs anyways.

Just went thru the pantry and decided to eat sumthin old. Take a look at the pics and also the dates I put them in the storage drums. Already tried them and they are all still good. Cinnamon, Parsley, Majorie and Rosemary plus the Rice and Crisco. Long term storage attempt. I still have bottled water that I bought for the 2012 world crash on 23 Dec. The date on the bottles in 12.23.12...GP

OMG, go back and clean out the shelves, have a closing down the fall grill party. Like the price mistake in the UK with the coffee...

The stock people at this Piggly Wiggly have got to be the most incompetent I've ever seen. In addition to the T-Bones they had pks of ground beef marked down 50%, so we got 20 lbs for $30.

We had Thanksgiving potluck at the office - not traditional "thanksgiving" foods because we'll all have that next week. One lady's husband makes really good briskets and they brought one. And whatever sides people wanted to bring. I was happy to see pecan pie; of course I'm always happy about that.

I made a hot crispy New Orleqns style Muffuletta and an Italian salad.
You're killing me Rellgar :D

My son and I are both big Muffaletta fans. The only place left in town that serves them is on the other side of town, and unless you get a whole Muffaletta, it's too expensive.

Finding Muffaletta bread here is impossible. About the only Italian bread is Ciabatta, and there aren't any Sicilian breads. And the stores would give me a blank stare if I asked for Mortadella.

So I'm left with making Ciabattalettas or Kaiserlettas, LOL I guess I could just use regular Bologna instead of Mortadella, but I am OK with just Ham and Cotto Salami.

I did have some Olive Salad from Central Grocery, but when that ran out I made my own.

Here is my Ciabattaletta :)

We are having a deep fried Turkey, roasted pork tenderloin, oyster dressing, shrimp and miriliton dressing, groundmeat & peppers dressing, sweet potato crunch casserole. Cauliflower casserole (like a loaded baked potato, substitute potato for cauliflower), greenbean casserole, buttered early baby green peas, shrimp and corn soup, charbroiled oysters on the half shell, baked 3 cheese macaroni, cranberry sauce, Hawaiian dinner rolls, Turkey gravy, pork gravy.

Pumpkin pie, pecan pie, turtle cheesecake, and an assortment of cookies.

1. how long did it take to prepare all these wonderful dishes
2. how long will you need to eat the leftovers
3. how many people will be there for dinner
4. how many people were needed to COOK, BAKE, AND FINISH ALL THAT???

1. how long did it take to prepare all these wonderful dishes about 2 days
2. how long will you need to eat the leftovers 3 days
3. how many people will be there for dinner 25
4. how many people were needed to COOK, BAKE, AND FINISH ALL THAT??? 2 for most of it, the other 5 family groups each cooked one item.

I made a large batch of spaghetti sauce that was loaded with ground beef and pork. I had a huge plate of it with yeast rolls and a side of diced cucumber marinated in a homemade vinaigrette dressing. I’m one contented camper right now.
Tomorrow I will take the majority of the sauce and make two lasagnas. One will get frozen for later and one will brighten my day tomorrow. I also took the remaining ham from thanksgiving and sliced it up, freezing four bags for sandwiches later on, and the bone with a lot of meat still on it for ham and bean soup later on. I love my food saver vacuum bag system. It really protects stuff for freezing.
