no point in being miserable hiking, that doesn't make you a loser. I wouldn't go hike in the pouring rain either . Maybe do some indoor exercising
well....i actually like hiking in the rain...but theres a reason i lived and worked in PNW so it rained every day. One duty station got over 200 inches a year...lol....so i hardly ever let rain stop me from going outside...it was programed in me when younger...so yea...i be a bit crazy on that side of life stuff...lol

week 15 day 3

so I finally weight myself and back up to 13 lbs to lose , blahhhh. Oh well.

Today soup with lamb shanks and green beans. I usually make some bread with this but debating if I should not. If I make it, I will eat it
you can do it.....!!

I love hiking in the rain. But there are times to pull back. Storms are one of them.

i made dang sure i got my hike in today...i went early...it was 79f and very humid...clouds rolling in and out and spotty rain....i seen 2 squirrels and 3 deer...one was a buck...he is lop sided...one horn is a foot long and the other is just a nubbin.....lop sided spike he is !

just soaked in nature today after missing yesterday for sure !!

week 15 day 4

I did make streusel cake with the lunch yesterday LOL, it just goes with it

today more bread: making cornbread and beans, corn and fried pork belly. It's a rotten weather day so there .

wow, and I didn't say "rotten" LOL but that is what showed up, they can autocorrect this?
yes....certain words the forum either blanks out or auto changes.....bologna is one used....lol...i think its bullcrap spelled with an s....lol

lets see ******** !

yep...auto corrects to an edible....lol

******...ok i change the word till i got rotten...know what you said now....what you said is true...its is S weather.

raining here and i had a rough night and early morning with inner thigh cramps....they had me bent over in 45 degree and couldnt straighten up...made me sick to my stomach even....dont know if i hike or not today.....not had these in a very long time....i took double dose of magnesium plus rubbed some mag stuff directly on muscle to absorb it...we shall see.

its probably got to do with a nerve from my spine out of sorts...this to shall pass.

wellll......lets just say i have short memory and stubborn as a 800# Missouri mule......so its raining when a thought jumped in my brain pan this afternoon and i was filled with desire to go and visit the wilds...jumped in truck and went to trail and it was raining...i hit it and done it..half way through it opened up and poured down....seen 5 deer and a zillion gabillion rain drops and i got my happy on....leg made it fine and was ok on ride home....i was soaked....but big smiles....like col.fox says ya wanna be tough ya gotta do the hard things...so i done it ...i may cry later with a cramp...i just cant let my cramp win battle over my brain and my desire of wanderlust for the wilds....i am a chicken dinner winner this afternoon !!

going near trees today or in the woods you need a hardhat....doubt there be any hiking today.

i have worked in woods like this before...hard hats a must for flying stuff!

wide brim HH are best...keeps water off back of ya neck..also a chin strap holds them on....i was in a forest fire/control burn once that was so fierce it was lifting my HH off my head and chin strap was keeping it on....couldnt see nothing but smoke in front of your face 6 inches.

today down on river i found dead deer from the flooding....seen 6 buzzards and 1 squirrel...it was hot in noon day sun...sweat was dripping on inside of my sunglasses...wont be many days like that rest of year as we go into fall and winter.

i am limited right now on places i can go...just no access...well i can get there its just i aint crawling over 1000's of blown down trees.

i may end up breaking out chainsaws and fixing a pack up to carry my gear and start in on trails bucking logs out.

I gained 2.4 pounds in the last 12 weeks, guess I need to fast more than 12-16 hours.
A few slices of pizza will add up & the Holidays are about here.

not sure how much I missed on here with getting sidetracked by storm, no power and no grocery trips so let's just say week 16 day 1

Don't know what my weight is either, probably gained some eating a lot of bread

today I want something really simple like chicken noodle soup but I need to go shopping first, no carrots left, no celery either

what State are you in? We have a bunch of trees down too

so I was bad and bought some fried chicken at the Walmart instead of cooking. They USED to have decent fried chicken. I made mac and cheese and green beans with it, but the chicken isn't great. It's like the cut off most of the chicken breast , put a ton of breading on there and fried mostly bones. What a rip off!! It didn't used to be like that. More shrink flation I suppose

Just had to go be tough guy today and test myself....went to mini mtn i talk about. trail is shorter than what i been doing but its way steeper...its got 77 steps starting off straight up side of mtn.....i felt it too....it was 77f and humid...i rested a bit and started to call it good but the stupid hard part said oh no you go to end of trail..so i finished climbing to the top and then went to end of trail. its only mile and half but its tough..steep,roots and rocks galore.....

so driving home my inner thigh said watch this and tried to cramp multiple times....might be a rough night on an old fat man thats gotten way out of shape from what he was.

hope i can walk in the morning...glutton i am...i done it..its all my fault too...lol

5.30AM and day is starting,,,no cramps last night so thats a great thing...but i sure fill like i was rode hard and put up wet so far this morning...first few steps were very stiff...better the more i took....hope i get time to just hike two miles easier trail to stay limbered up a bit.

ok lets just say week 16 day 1

weight myself, back to 13 pounds, oh well, will try again this week
I haven't really been too motivated lately to stick to my diet , getting to the point where I think why bother

today making Indian chicken curry, rice , salad, cucumbers. No mangos , store didn't have any

I took Otto for a hike up our mountain yesterday , well, not all the way but some of the way. It actually looks ok, I only saw 1 smallish new tree down. I think the mountain facing away from the storm protected that area.
Otto was happy , first hike in over a week

Well...since i had to be such a ornery hard head and over do it yesterday...it meant i had to go hike again today and pretend to be tough.......even though i didnt feel like it...had a mind battle going on too...so i hiked 2 miles this afternoon....on an easier trail than yesterday...
